This is really beautiful hotel and the people who work there are great. The rooms have hardwood floors and super soft rugs-
I was impressed with the design and attention to detail.
Only complaint- (jk) they pour heavy-we had way too much to drink in the bar downstairs.

A nice historical hotel that's recently been renovated and updated. It definitely has an old school charm and is beautifully done inside. The rooms are a bit small and it can be a little loud at night because it is right in downtown across from Horton Plaza. Overall a very nice hotel though.

very nice and historic....nice place for the family, convenient to shopping and walking distance to all the shops in downtown san diego plus very good price for the valve

A beautiful hotel nestled right in downtown San Diego. Quite charming upon entry and during the holidays it's decorated quite lavishly. A perfect place for your office holiday party or a club gathering. I've always been treated with class at the Grant!

Especially pet-friendly! Not only do they allow pets, but they welcome your pet (dog or cat) of any size with cookies, a water dish and a dog bed! Just ask for the Pet Program when you check in and they'll deliver the above mentioned goodies right to your room

GREAT PRICING FOR BIG SUITE AT A LUXURIOUS HOTEL

if you want to stay at a luxury hotel, this is the place to stay! This hotel was soooo REASONABLE PRICED, it was not even funny, i was shocked at how much we got a Suite! Of course the Penthouse was waay Las Vegas pricing, but for an upgraded Suite compared to a regular room was FABULOUS! The hotel was recently renovated in the millions. The entry area was wooooo's and ahhhhh's.. it was Fabs! it was soo classy. The walk ways to the rooms were plush! My feet were in heaven! No joke. When we opened our room, it was dark wooden floors, marble everything, swanky furniture. Though there was some funky Art above the bed but everything else was spectacularus! Its right across from the Horton Plaza and about 5 blocks from the Gas Lamp. About half a mile to the Marina and Seaport Village. Everything is walkable. Bad thing is... THERE IS NO POOL!!! AND Customer service was awful in the conceirge area. They treated everyone as if they were better than them. No joke. Snobs times 1000. So if you can careless about the conceirge, then this is the place to stay for you! BTW, the hotel has two restaurants, pricey, yet tasty. :) Oh they don't have free internet either btw.

We stayed at the US Grant for a long weekend after Christmas 2007. A great hotel with a very helpful staff and a surprisingly good restaurant.
Pros: Super luxury. Great staff.
Cons: Older hotel so the rooms are a little small.

Great Hotel Bar

We stayed at the US Grant recently & spent the weekend going to shops & restaurants in downtown San Diego. After several mediocre exeriences, we decided to wind down at the US Grant Hotel Bar & were pleasantly surprised. Not only was the service exceptional, we were impressed by their wine list also. Wines were unique & interesting & served in very nice stemware. Desserts were also delicious. A great end to the day, especially considering we were relaxing with our 2 kids (ages 9months & 11yrs. ) We will return again for sure.
Pros: Antque hotel, great service, & nice bar
