Folks Art

I've been a Folks Art junkie for years, and they just keep getting better. Be sure to check out their annual summer sale, starting in June. Hundreds of items are drastically reduced in price and new stuff comes in every day for weeks. I just bought a huge turquoise cabochon set in silver as well as a finely carved Ganesh figure (fossilized walrus tusk) in silver, each 50% off. Such a deal!

In the middle of Oakland's Piedmont Avenue sits a gift shop that has everything imaginable. Of course they carry artwork in the form of paintings, but they also carry figurines, coffee mugs, jewelry, calendars, and small knick-knacks. I like that you can find something from all over the world in this small shop.
