Front Desk and Kids Staff is AWESOME!!!! Family membership is totally worth it. There are lots of kids activities, and the personal trainers really know their business. They get you started with 3 sessions with a personal trainer (no extra charge) it has made a difference in the way I work out, Milan was really helpful and didn't make me feel lame for my lack of workout knowlege. They also set me up with a tennis evaluation with Rob a tennis pro and they have social tennis so I always have people to practice with. This was a great choice for me & my fam.

I have been a member for 6 years and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this club. When we walk in the front desk staff treat us like family. I have 2 children and they love to come to the kids club and the staff is friendly. There are 2 large pools to swim

Most of the staff is rude and/or ill-trained. Needs new leadership/membership personnel. It's a tired facility that doesn't invest in itself for the most part. Looks like a senior center. Very expensive for what you get, especially if you don't play tennis.

This is NOT a family friendly club. Do not believe any of the positive reviews! My minor son was mocked by the receptionist and I had two parents witness event and call me about it!

We've been members for 15+ years and we are continually surprised by the lack of customer service. Managers and employees are rude to parents and children alike. The only reason we stay is the lack of other tennis courts.

The only good part of this club is the snack bar. They have good snacks and are actually the only ones nice to the kids there.

If you don't play tennis - join another club.

We've been members for 15 years and for 10 years have been stunned by the lack of customer service at this facility.

We have had problems with the managers and employees being rude and down right nasty to members. I have witnessed employees yelling at children and can't believe parents put up with it.

The only reason we belong is because there are no other large tennis clubs in our area.

The only good part of this club is the snack bar. The owners of the snack bar are nice and friendly to their patrons.

Join Family Fitness on Sunrise - you will be much happier and you will save a lot of money!

A comparison between Gold River Racquet Club and California Family Fitness across Sunrise. Kids care hours are very limited at Gold River, compared to Cal Fit where kids' care is available from 8am until 9pm for kids between 4 months and 12 years. You pay an additional $30/month for child care at gold river, while it is included at Cal Fit. Employee children take priority at Gold River, and periodically, there is no room left in the small children's room for member's children. Cal Fit also has the 2 story climbing structure for the kids to play in, as well as the rock wall for everyone to climb. Child care at Gold River seems to be treated as a necessary evil, rather than being catered to as it is at California Family Fitness. However, the child care staff at both are excellent. The exercise facilities are smaller (fewer) at gold river. Exercise seems to be an after thought in their racquet ball court converted weight room. The 8 treadmills pale in comparison to the 45 available at cal fit. Both have nice pools, heated year round. The men's locker room at cal fit is nicer, cleaner, and smells less unpleasant. The gold river men's shower is a group shower - great if you like showering with other men, bad if you don't. Cal Fit has a dry and wet sauna, tanning, and a larger hot-tub. Gold River has a dry sauna, and a hot tub for 6. Gold River has excellent tennis courts. IF you don't play tennis, your membership costs still include this, which drives up your price. They both have the same number of racquet ball courts, but Cal Fit's have better lighting. Cal Fit plays lively music throughout their facility. Front desk staff at both are outstanding. Gold River also provides towel service, which is unavailable at Cal Fit.

The lobby says it all. Huge fireplace, large expansive room to lounge and relax after a hard game of tennis or racquet ball and a long steam.

I was too busy lounging in the lobby to notice the equipment.

There is a pro tennis team that plays here and some in the past they have had big time pros play.

Parking is fine. Everything is fine about this place.

PROS: Lobby says it all
CONS: Pricey
