I have been there over 20 times (mainly near my workplace), and every time I get the same opinion. The service is utterly ugly and I believe it is because they don't have enough waitress/waitor. Secondly, almost all the time they screw up my order. I take the food and give them 20% tips and still they are able to do that just amuses me. I can see why it's hip, because it is. However, food is expensive, service disgusting and the price is too much. Being across from the Hollywood Tower Apartments is NOT that prestigious. The only thing they got going for that place is they open til 3am and many hot girls and 'metrosexual' guys go there.

A fun throwback with dependable food and snappy wait staff, although always helpful when we arrive with our full staff of 15 for breakfast. Oatmeal just like mom's and not too thick, not too thing french fries that area must any time of day.

A typical coffee shop complete with lunch counter. Super shakes and malts and their fries are a mix of russett and sweet potatos...a bit different from the norm. It's always a buzz so if your looking for a quiet dining experience, this isn't the place. Also great for the morning after a Hollywood night.

This place was a coffee shop before they became so hip. The food is really good and the prices are reasonable. Parking can be a bit tough sometimes but you can usually find a spot.

Though the food is really good and inexpensive the 101 Coffee shop is all about ambiance. This is where I take most out of town visitors. It can be a fun star spotting location and is open into the wee hours of the morning. The later at night the better. Looks straight out of the 70's but really worth a visit.
