Great place to shop for the basics: t-shirts (under $6 a pop), underwear and bras ($2-3 each, for DKNY-level lapels), bathing suits (I got a cute bikini for $15!). Their dress selection is pretty weak, though. This is my favorite location for the bargains I always find here, but I haven't tried that many others (the one in West LA on Wilshire isn't as good for clothes but is better for housewares).

Pros: cheap stuff that doesn't look that cheap!

Cons: crowded, wouldn't want to be seen shopping here

The store carries mostly clothes, but also has such things as bathroom decor and gift items. It seems like it is mostly oversstock and last season, but the prices can be amazing. They also have women's suits. On the down side, things are not always orderly. For example, one might sizes commingled. Further, the quality is not always the best. But for the most part, the treasures I've found over the years have held up to continous wear.

Ross is a good store for a thrifty person. It has a lot of brand name clothe for cheap prices. The check out line takes forever and the costumer service is never there to help. i could not imagine going there and not buy something. I would recomend this store to people who have a lot of patience.

Ross Dress for Less is the type of store where patience really does pay off. For those who've never experienced it, Ross is a warehouse full of racks and racks and more racks of clothes at bargain prices. With no particular division other than by size, there are shirts, pants, dresses and other items of clothing displayed on racks and shelves that you are welcome and encouraged to plow through. They could be damaged but more often than not are just last season's passovers. There are also household furnishings, shoes and who knows what else. (There are always some fun surprises awaiting you.) But, you really have to be in the mood. I have gone in seeking some type of clothing but left because I just couldn't take the crowds (which there are many times, especially on weekends) and didn't have the stamina and patience to go one by one through aisles of shirts looking for one I liked. On the other hand, if you need to update your wardrobe at once, you can certainly do it more inexpensively here than at Macy's.

Ross has Name brand closes for a fraction of what you will pay in departments stores. I can shop for Myself and my children, and pick up some household Items.
