I have been taking my car to Greenhaven Shell for close to 10 years now. I know I am not alone, when I say that bringing your car in for repairs can be a daunting experience--- Usually met with a mixture of dread and distrust. Especially, if you're a female!!
It is so nice to have a repair shop where the manager remembers your name, calls you as soon as you car is done, and doesn't try to sell you unnecessary repairs. Ray (the manager) always explains everything that was done, and even shows me the old parts. These guys are WONDERFUL!

My Toyota had the check engine light on, I had been to 3 other
repair shops (including the dealership) in the past year, Greenhaven shell found the problem quickly and repaired it and now my car runs like new, the guys I spoke with (Ray and Steve) really knew their stuff.

Pros: Same mechanics have worked there forever!

Cons: Car not always ready when they say

hey all,

Made an appointment last week to have my tires rotated. took it in today around noon and they said it wouldn't take too long and that they would call when it was ready. Parked it a good distance away since there was no available spots. fast forward 6 hours later to go pick up my car (I had to call also) car is still parked where I left it. I was a little surprised as to why my car was parked way out where i left it, and my seat was not adjusted (I am 5'1 so usually when people move my car they have to adjust the seat) I get the feeling they did not work on my car. will not go back to again.

My radiator blew and i brought it in to them. They got it fixed promptly. However, when i got my car back, the check engine light came on at certain times.

They took another look at it for free and said it was due to a clicking noise (which i had heard and mentioned) that caused the sound sensor to go off...

They said the sound could be various things but was most likely a worn engine...

Anyway, nice people. Solid work. My car runs decently (its pretty old anyway) despite the check engine light.

Bad move to trust them for serious repair...again. First time a couple years ago was with an alternator replacement for which they "accidentally" installed a "defected" alternator. After much arguing about there being nothing else wrong with the car, they finally tested the alternator which was performing the exact way as the previous old one.

A replacement needed to be ordered AND put in. It took 1day. And I didn't even have an appointment. Between both alternators and service we were looking at 2 1/2 days.

Having an early am appt on a recent Friday or service I was informed my car would be completed by noon that same day. Since they couldn't get to it that morning, so I was told, they worked on it that afternoon. Right before 5 as I was getting ready to leave to go pick it up I receive a call from the owner telling me it's not quite ready. He says he drove it around seeing that it would eventually work properly and my new struts would fill, but they aren't, but he'll stay late to try to figure it out. What a guy. My s.o. on the east coast called back not 30 secs later...and the owner was G-O-N-E. After receiving numerous run - around stories (straight out lies) my vehicle is still sitting there now FOUR DAYS LATER. I've been told they can't get to it in the mornings because they are so busy with previous appointments. I had an early morning appointment 4 days ago and had manufacturer direct parts from a highly acclaimed reputable national supplier, a company tech support number, suggestions in the event they did not do these parts often, and even my boyfriend who is a broker in the industry on the east coast tried to talk to them and discuss their common problem and the obvious solution. At 1pm today when I call to find out the prognosis I'm told there are symptoms creating additional problems which I know are unrelated to the repair I brought in for, that the battery was dead first thing this morning so it's on the charger (at 1pm ?, I ask, for how long does my battery need to charge?) and why is it dead anyway? Because there is now a buzz coming out a speaker when you turn the key off? I may not be a mechanic, but common sense goes a long way...so wouldn't you disconnect the battery instead of leaving my car "buzzing" for 3 days and nights over the weekend? Then when I call and ask if the car is parked inside as I requested and was told it would be, I am NOW told by the gas station attendant it's outside and he can't move it in because the front-end is sitting on the ground and must be moved around being jacked up...but the owner tells me he was driving it around in order to figure out what the problem was...? But I'm also told he saw them move it out of the garage having to use 3 jacks to jack it up sometime during the afternoon when they got busy in order to work on other vehicles that came in.

They must have had appointments.

THAT"S jacked up.

This station is usually pretty clean, and well located near the corner of Florin and Riverside, so you can enter from two major streets. The pricing is decent for the area, and the lines are usually not long.
