Scott & Smitty's Firestone

I had a rattle start suddenly in my front end. Scott & S looked at it, and they said arm was bent and twin joint coupler was loose and also bent. They also told me that I needed struts on the front. They charged $130.00 for the arm and the coupler and ordered the struts. The bill for the struts installed was to be another $779.00.

When I drove toward home the rattle was still there, big as ever. He wisecracked on the phone about it as though that's just the way it is until the struts are replaced.

I had a different shop and a professional mechanic look at it. He found loose parts and tightened them up. He put in a couple of bolts. He charged me $115.00 for the work. He told me that I did not need the struts, but if I did the cost would be $330.00 installed and including the alignment.

I am riding smoothly and quietly now. the old struts are doing the job well. All is fine. No thanks to Scott & Smitty's. I don't think that they are honest with everyone.

You may want to get a second opinion before you decide to have them do your work.
