This place takes you out of LA and into the parlor of an old English woman. I don't love the brunch food, but the tea selections are wonderful and so is the bakery. It is absolutely a pleasant place to spend a few hours in great conversation with a friend.

On your way out, you must get some cornish pastries and meat pies (the chicken curry is excellent!) A fun to-go meal for your family or friends. Each meat pie has a different symbol baked into it, and they give you a little menu to tell what each is stuffed with.

Our entire family loves to brunch here. The staff is always attentive. However, do plan on a more relaxing breakfast or lunch because they do not rush around here.

The tea is fabulous. Try the Scottish or Irish breakfast tea with milk if you haven't before. Their scones are wonderful, and their lunch pies are coveted in our family as "take-out".

My daughter went here for her friend's 7th birthday celebration. How fun to have a traditional English tea. Staff were very attentive and I do think the 7 year olds felt a bit more like 20-somethings. A very unique place in the heart of Santa Monica.

This place is great for couples. All you men out there - take your lady out for a nice authentic English tea - you will score big points, and you might actually enjoy yourself. I know my husband had no problem cleaning his plate. We get scones with Devonshire cream and jam, and of course they service you the finger sandwiches with cucumber and cream cheese. We each got our own teapot - vanilla and jasmine! Beware of crowds though, because if the place is jammed, you may be in for a bit of a wait for a table. But once you are seated the service is great.

I've been here a few times and can definitely recommend it as a place to experience an authentic English tea. The sandwiches, especially the salmon and cream cheese, are very good. I would NOT recommend ordering anything hot, as those dishes taste like they were (poorly) prepared in England, frozen, sent here, then re-heated in the microwave. I have no idea if that's what actually happens, but that's what it tastes like. Their teas are of course excellent, I especially recommend PG Tips, which you must add sugar and milk to in order to thoroughly enjoy. The attached bakery and grocery has interesting and reasonably priced goods from England (including boxes of PG Tips tea!).

The decorand attention todetail in eloquentlytransporting youto Englishculture is fabulous.The service is quick, efficient, friendly butnot overwhelming.

Great valueformoney, especially thenextdoor englishcandies store which is a great oppurtunity to buy the taste ofengland usually associated withhighprices forrather low ones.

The atmosphere ofthe TudorHouse is relaxed, welcoming one as many tuck into their beautifully cooked or cold food (Worthy of at least one or two Michelin stars.) The salmon sandwiches or sundaybrunch followedby stickytoffeepudding is oneof many great combinations to enjoy this place quoted by visitors as "just fab fab fab."

Forget about it, tudorhouse ROCKS!! Seeya there tomorrow for tea and scones followed by perfectedfood as standard.

Tudor House is a great English Tea house right next to 3rd street . They offer high tea, but also lots other things like meat pies, salads, scones, and beer. Unlike many other tea houses, Tudor House isn't girly. Its a tea house men can feel less obvious and there are many guys there in the company of their wives and girl friends and there are males waitstaff. Don't forget to pick up some english candy in the shop on the way out.

This place is just wonderful! The minute I set foot in the tea room of the Tudor House I feel like I am in England. It's a great way to transport yourself out of the city for awhile. The tea is great, be sure to pay the extra for clotted cream with your scones- it's well worth it. My favorites are the salmon sandwiches and the cream cheese, walnut and herb sandwiches. The shop attached is great as well for all of the English candies and specialty foods that are difficult to find elsewhere ( I LOVE Cadbury Fingers).

I've been going to the Tudor House for years. The food here is excellent and the teas are equally good. The beef barley soup rocks and so do the Chicken Curry pies. Tuna salad on bread is great as are the Banger sausage rolls. The desserts are to die for with Battenberg cake being my favorite. There is also a great bakery and store connected to the tea room that sells authentic British products. All & all a great place for lunch with very afordable prices.

I like this place because you can get all your British chocolate cravings fulfilled AND also pop into the very English tea room next to the shop for tea. You can get most of your Cadbury, Mars, Bassett's sweets, teas, biscuits and also some toiletries like your favourite Imperial Leather soap here. Love the shepherd's pie as well!

I don't mean to lack patriotism, but I've officially switched my candy alliegence from the USA to our British friends from across the pond. Let's just say that anything Hershey can do, Cadbury can do better, and the little British store in the Tudor House has Cadbury products to spare, as well as many other British sweets, snacks, and groceries.
I went there at lunch to grab a meat and potato pie, and when I turned around and saw the aisles full of chocolates, I thought for a moment that I had a blonde moptop and my name was Charlie Bucket.
They don't just do sweet, but salty as well. Got a craving for some Walker's brand Cheese & Onion crisps? Maybe you'd prefer Marmite flavoured*? Don't know what Marmite is? Me neither, but the British do potato chips as well as candy so give it a try.
British specialty products are also available, as well as a full service tea room and bakery, all within walking distance from the beautiful Santa Monica coast.

*spelling note, if British candy is better then so is their spelling of "flavour"

Charming yet casual tea house brings the English ritual of high tea to Santa Monica. Patrons feel as if they've been transported to England as they enjoy a traditional high tea--which includes choice of tea or coffee, scones, clotted cream and preserves, finger sandwiches, pastries and more. Stop by the restaurant's store on the way out to pick up all those hard-to-find imported British products.
