The atmosphere is just what I'd hoped for. Old photos, antiques, and Americana on the walls. The waitresses wore jeans, they had their hair up in ponytails that bounced when they walked in a way that just can't be taught, and everyone was "Sugar" or "Honey". I even got one of them to brew me some sweet tea. The mashed potatos and meatloaf were homemade and the portions were more than I could handle. Being from the Southeast I'm always looking for "real" country food. Food that you eat because it's delicious and for no other reason. For those that want to complain about how unhealthy this place is, I say, "Damn right!" and I loved it. It's a place where you can be yourself and not have to worry about putting your elbows on the table. Looking for a restaurant with a foyer (pronounced "foy yea" I'm told) or tofu turkey? Stay away! This place and it's people are as real as it gets and there's no place for charades. Lastly, my thoughts and prayers to the Marine mom. I have no doubt that my brother in arms was a fine Devil Dog. He's guarding the Pearly Gates now.

I am going to have to respectfully disagree with the previous poster. I have lived in Banning a few years now and every once in a while stop by the farmhouse for a bite to eat. Their portions are large their menu is diverse and their prices are reasonable. It is what I would call old school home cooking so yes if you are on a diet you might just want to keep driving (: Their salads are large and their breakfast is delicious! They have a pretty good kids menu also and the service is great! Just be ready to wait a while because they are usually packed especially on weekend mornings. The service is usually split up so the person who gets your drinks isnt the same as the one who gets your food but you can always ask anyone for anythign and they are always happy to help you out! There are some things on the menu that are better then others I prefer their breakfast and the chicken salad sandwich but their dinners are pretty good too. Overall it is OK not great nothing to write home about but worth stopping at if you are in the area.

This so-called restaurant get a minus 10 on our scale. We have been there at least five times hoping for some improvement but it is just bad.The food is just greasy, heavy and laden with a sort of glue they call gravy. Those that eat there on a regular basis look just like one would expect. Fat and greasy.A very unpleasent place to eat.
