Sms  4 Star Rating - Very good

SMS is a pretty good school. Kids in the area either go here or CMS (Cupertino Middle school) original names, ehh? From here they move on to Homestead and Fremont High schools. These schools are part of the Fremont Union High School District. For the past couple of years the budget crisis has really hit this district. Kids complain that they have to carry their books back and forth because there is not enough money to buy a class set. SMS has a pretty good education system and they do well on state testing. There is really nothing special about the school. It holds different summer programs for kids which are cheap but keep the kids entertained.

Sunnyvale Middle School (SMS) is a great school to have your kid go to. You can be sure of your child getting a good education and being prepared well for high school. Graduating students go on to either Fremont High School os Homestead High School (the more prefered) depending on where they live. The school has great activities; they even have a kiln for pottery which really strikes me since those are expensive and usually only available to high schools. Very good school. But a con for a parent is that when you drop your kid off at school in the morning and need to go to work, there are no highways nearby.

Also Nicknamed SMS (for obvious reasons) Sunnyvale Middle School has good education. The school has good extracuriculars. It is a bit unusual for a middle school but they even have a ceramics class, yes, they have a kiln in a middle school. There are two bus stops right next to it so kids can easily get to and from school. After graduation they move on to either Homestead or Fremont high schools, depending on which district they live in.
