I love Dana! 
I went to Kenworthy in search of a change, and I was lucky enough to get in with Dana! She took the time to listen, calmed my nerves and totally undertood what i was after. She continued to provide excellent customer service throughout my visit, and everyone there makes you feel like you are among friends. No pretention despite the high end area. Dana is not only talented, she is really into continuing her education, staying current, and is super hip and cute! I am referring all of my friends and totally recommend her and the salon!

Beautiful Business
I was a brand new client to Kenworthy Salon, and must share my experience this week ... Upon arrival, Deane Kenworthy initiated an expert and personal exploration. We had an important 'first conversation', where he took the time to individualize an approach that would begin to address my color needs, while maintaining healthy texture and strengthening my hair. After his meticulous mixing, the perfect color was applied, and I knew that the highlights would be gorgeous in the end. In the past, previous stylists rushed through the process, and inattentiveness only resulted in factory-like work. Anyone will appreciate the top level service at Kenworthy, offering wisdom and sophistication within a Zen decorated and well managed salon. No cold attitude here, rather welcoming and engaging staff. Leave there with fabulous hair featuring current/edgy styles and simply gorgeous, natural color. Warm elegance inviting us back for more in this subtly trendy Beverly Hills neighborhood.

In Good Hands
Following a thorough and open-minded search for a new stylist during the past few years, I have finally found a salon where the entire staff and services offered truly encourage return customers. Deane Kenworthy[the owner]understood my need for a drastic change, and we decided to create a vision matching the style/color perfect for my desired look. His apparent talent and reputation for color seems to be purely instinctive. Exactly a fit for my challenging hair texture, skin tone, and incredibly natural with minimal maintenance style(dull brunette to blonde w/highlights! It is quite a trusting leap, discovering new possibilities ... Now, I am confident my prolonged search is finally over. Deane's expertise and years of experience are tools of the trade necessary to be at the top of the salon game. Everyone in this salon appears to be an absolute winner!

Best Color I Ever Had!
I just went to Kenworthy for the first time this week. Up to now most places always left my hair to dull and ashy. Deane Gave me the most realistic rich, shiny blond hair with the perfect light golden blond highlights. I was very pleased with the overall experience, the salon is beautiful and the staff was very friendly. It was a great experience all the way around.

They Burned My Scalp, My Forehead Was Swollen For Three Days! 
I went to Deane to get my root touch-up done on Wednesday (July 19, 2006) for my bleached hair. My hair was already bleached beautifully before I saw Deane. But I recently moved to LA so I had to find a stylist here to continue bleaching. Since I loved the color and my hair was very healthy, Deane and I agreed to not change anything. My stylist gave me the formula he used and I gave it to Deane, as Deane wanted it (so far, very happy with Deane). Yet, during bleaching, my scalp was burning and tingling a lot, something that had NEVER happened to me until I went to Deane. I knew somehow he messed up the bleaching process. An hour after I left the salon, my whole scalp was swollen. My scalp was so irritated that my forehead was sticking out! I am not exaggerating! I was almost taken to the emergency room by my family! My forehead was swollen and my scalp was sore for three days! Because of this, I could not go out that weekend at all. All of this is caused by Deanes unwillingness to follow the formula that has been working for me. I would've been ok if he had matched the color but he couldn't even match the color!!! My roots are golden and the rest of my hair is very light blonde!!! It doesn't look bad but everyone can tell that the roots are different. He simply didn't deliver. He is a very nice man, very attentive, however, I will not be back. I don't want all of my hair to burn and fall out, or damage my scalp permanently!

Bring a picture of what you want....
I needed to find a stylist in LA since seeing my stylist in Santa Barbara was just not feasible anymore. I spent hours searching on Citysearch and decided to go here based on the reviews. I left the salon looking like Mary Tyler Moore and it was the first time I've ever cried after a haircut. I don't know any 22-year olds that would want this hairstyle. The staff is very, very friendly and I don't sense any hint of pretentiousness at all. The price was very good for my neighborhood (Beverly Hills/West Hollywood). I'm sure the stylist is good at cutting hair but I think she misunderstood what I wanted. If you go, just have a very clear idea of what you want. Me, I'm wearing my hair back and searching for a different stylist.

we are new to los angeles and have been trying new salons. this salon is close to her work so she booked an appt. and came back looking lovely as ever. very friendly staff and helpful with creating a new look for her new job. thank you. cheers!

Best Hairstylist/Colorist in the USA!
I've been having Deane do my color and cut for a few years now, at the recommendation of a dear friend.
Before I started going to him, my hair was a nightmare- overprocessed, unstylish, and limp. My hair is very fine and wispy to begin with, and I just couldn't find someone who would not completely destroy it.
In a couple of hours, Deane transformed my mop into a lush, silky, beautiful work of art! I am now addicted to his work, and will never be able to go anyplace else, because no one has the vision and talent that he possesses. He is always on the cutting edge of style, extremely courteous and professional, and always leaves you looking magnificent.
The salon staff is always friendly and attentive. The salon itself is always kept immaculately clean, bright, and classy.
My only complaint is that I can not keep Deane at home as my personal stylist!
Pros: Friendly, unbeat, stylish, professional, accomodating
Cons: nothing bad about this place!

Hair Straightening with Dana
I was curious about the new straightening processes I had heard about. My hair is a little past my shoulders, coarse and wavy. I also highlight and color my hair. I called Kenworthy and was given a consultation appointment with Dana. She was very knowledgeable and I was pleased to learn she had recently returned from training in Japan with the owners and creators of the straightening system. In terms I could understand, she explained the process, after-care, and why I was a good candidate for it. With the system they use even colored and highlighted hair can be straightened. I came back for the acutal straightening appointment which took about 2.5-3 hours. It was painless and I was so happy and couldn't believe the result. I can just blowdry my hair with my fingers and it's straight and shiny. I purchased the accompanying shampoo and leave-in conditioner and my hair is in great condition. It is definintely worth the time and money and has made my life so much easier. I'm hooked!
