La Verne Dental Group is by far the worst dentist I have ever been to. I would equate them to the quality of "Western Dental." I went there because my insurance gave me La Verne Dental group as a default because they were located in my hometown. I went there and had a lot of work done, several cavities, a root canal, 4 wisdom teeth removed, and a molar tooth removed plus a bridge to replace it.
Lets start with the cavities, those I have not had a problem with, other than the fact that the dentist will try to upsell you while you are already numb and in the chair about to be worked on. They actually had me in the chair, ready to do a root canal and were then having me sign/pay and decide if I wanted the antibacterial "wash" put into my root canal site, I told them that it was very unprofessional, and that they should do what they normally do, whatever was necessary to perform the root canal! After all the root canals and cavities, they actually missed one of my cavities when taking their x-rays, and I actually have a hole I can feel in my second to last back molar. I was meaning to mention when I went for my wisdom tooth and back molar removal, but then a whole new set a problems arose... the best is yet to come, keep reading!
La Verne Dental group has a dentist from another office that they have come in for this type of surgery. And after my surgery, did not give me a water pressure syringe to clean the holes left by the removed 5 teeth. I had the surgery on a Thursday, and they scheduled me an appointment 5 days later for a follow up. At that time they said they would have given me the syringe. If things were not going well, and if I needed it? Well that does not make sense to me, since food was sitting on/in the holes for a few days it was starting to literally stink like bacterial by sat. (2 days after the surgery) Everyone that I asked about their wisdom tooth surgery said that their dr. gave then the syringe to go home with, no one I spoke to said they went back to get the syringe... By Monday the pain was so bad, it did not matter what kind of pain killers I took, nothing worked and I was awake at night even with the pain killers. It turns out I had dry sockets. But they did not start out that way, I had been washing my mouth out with salt water, like the dr. said, because I didn't have a syringe and I felt the food in the holes. I actually washed the "clots" out and saw them because I was washing so hard with the salt water to attempt to get the food out. If I had the syringe then this wouldn't have happened! I went back and had to have 3 of the five removed teeth sites re-packed with medicine so that the surgery site would clot and heal. I had to go back Twice and do this! And they were very rude, like it was somehow my fault! The holes were so big on the back bottom teeth, I am convinced that I should have had stitches since the holes are still healing 3 months later!, Everyone I showed them to, thought the same thing as I do and . The dr. said four weeks max for healing.
The healing that is still going on now is on the skin of the back of my mouth, not on the gums, so the dr. could have easily stitched the skin closed. I had to take antibiotics twice and I missed 2 weeks of work instead of one week because I had to basically start the healing process over after I had the syringe in my hands. I know very well that this was a mistake on their part, because the holes were huge ( a whole piece of macaroni could fit in the holes) Shouldn't the dr. know that I would not be able to keep food out of that size hole? He does this type of surgery everyday!
So after the surgery site healed, I needed a bridge over one of the molars they removed. Unfortunately, the gum had receded leaving an uneven surface for the new fake tooth to sit on. I went in and said I knew something was not right, there was no way a tooth would be able to fit there. They said I should see an oral surgeon, and he recommended a bone graft (of course that insurance does not cover it) I went in for the bone graft on Friday, and by Saturday the stiches had come undone. I did everything they said, ate only soft foods, no hot foods, did not brush any where near the stiches, and now I have a severly bruised and bleeding mouth, another round of antibiotics and paid all that money for nothing? I should have left the dentist when they treated me poorly on the tooth removal surgery, instead I went back for more! I would not even bother with this dentist, find someone who knows what they are doing, these guys seem to be only in it for the money and do not care what happens to you after you pay!

Had a recent horrible experience there. I am a young woman and am now missing several bottom teeth I am in sever pain and waiting for another dentist to fix all the bad, and incomplete work they did, they try and overcharge for everything, way out of sight for services, did procedures with no pre med now I have a secondary infection severe pain and had to fight to get them to reimburse insurance so I can go to another dentist and get work completed, now I am scared to death of dental work, have no bottom teeth, and have been so stressed all week from the bad experiences with the office. please do your self a favor and stay away from them if you value your teeth, and health

This place is a total rip off, Spend the money get a second opinion on major work here. You won't be sorry. Bad family experience. Did not meet, or come near even decent expectations. They really only specalize in up to date equipment and beautiful office . Hm. Wonder how that is paid for. They are not honest and tell you things that need to get done that really don't need to get done. Bad deal all around. Would not recommend them to anyone. Pay the extra expense and get a second opinion. I did.. and wished I would of long ago.

I have had quite a bit of work done here and while the dentists were okay, I have had trouble with the work done. My first root canal is had had the crown fall out four times now, the first time the day after they did the procedure. When I called to tell them that I had woken up choking, swallowing the crown, they told me they would not replace it and that I should "examine your stool for the crown and we will sterilize it and put it back in". IU had to fight them through insurance to get any replacement work done. Add to that that I now have a new dentist and when I called then to have my x-rays and records sent they could not find them! I contacted them several times that day and was repeatedly made to feel as if it may be my fault. They asked me if I was sure I went to that branch. After I described the surrounding businesses to them and even named the street that the building faced I was told "Well, you probably don't need then since the x-rays are over 6 months old anyways. They aren't of any help to your new dentist." I told them that they need them to correct the problems with my now infected root canal that they did (they did not fill the root fully and missed a canal - there is now an infection in the bone most likely). I was then put on hold for 15 minutes. When they got back I was asked if they could call me back. They did an hour later and told me "I need your date of birth and medical record number so I can get the insurance records and make sure it was really here that you were a patient." I was speechless. I again told them where they were and that I was 100% sure I had been there before. She then told me "Oh, well, I can't find them. I'm sorry. We dont have them." So now, my dental records and my x-rays (which I paid for and might not be able to get replaced by my insurance without out of pocket expense for some time) are gone. Stay away.

They made me wait a very long time for my first visit, about 3.5 hours. Infact they had me go away and come back so i could bypass the "45 minute" wait, for the cleaning, but when I came back i ended up having to wait just as long or even longer. They were very nice and had the lastest equipment. They recommended that i have all of this work done. I was apprehensive and wanted a second opinion to test their recommendations. I haven't figured out yet who I can trust for sure. They could be right.

PROS: Very nice and personable
CONS: extremely long wait - my day was shot just for a cleaning!

For people scared of the dentist, this is a great place. The waiting lounge is bright, and non-suffocating, and everyone- from the dentists to the receptionist- are friendly and put you at ease. For people who don't have dental insurance, they have a number of specials, and options to find the most affordable way to pay for your work. The only drawback, you have to pay the day of, they don't bill you later. But, as far as dental offices go, this one is definitely superb in the quality of service and the atmosphere.
