24 Hour Fitness

If you have a dollar they will sign you up! They just want numbers and it's pretty apparent that signing people up is more important than taking care of the facilities. 24 hour fitness is notorious for building new and then letting maintenance fall by the wayside. I've been told they gym was to be upgraded about 5 times now, and it hasn't. There's dust all around and some people work out in clothes that just aren't healthy to be around. I've seen people working out in jeans, hospital scrubs, and it gives me that icky sticky unclean feeling. There are a lot of younger members, a lot of hoochie-mamas, and a lot of tough guys. If you can handle that by all means support these folks.
I'd recommend they clean the place thoroughly and they have someone who works there go through and wipe down the machines when there is no one left to sell. Do it on a rotation. LA Fitness does something similar to that. They hire people that really can be clueless, so don't ask tough questions. Watch out for your cars as people park tight when it's busy, so be prepared for a car ding/dent. Overall the gym was once a really great place to work out....they just let it go over the years.

Prepare for issues when dealing with the teenagers and your billing.They never get it right.I just joined a few months ago and I get stopped every time and asked for a pass due payment that's been paid.Go figure!

This is great gym - if you're a teenager or twenty something. The acoustics are the worst of any where I've been. Beautiful, new TVs, but it's hard to hear them because of the loud music and bad acoustics. Many people have complained at the gym and also to corporate, but eventually they give up because nothing is ever done. I've known people who have quit this gym and joined LA Fitness simply because of this problem.

I'd appreciate hearing from others who have had a similar experience. How about switching the station every half hour or so to diversify the music?

This is the coolest 2 storied 24 hour fitness I have been too. It has a pool, bb courts, 2 exercise rooms and a lot of equipment. They have a great exercise class schedule everything for PiYo, to Pool classes, to spinning to the traditional hi/low and step classes. There are a LOT of TVs on the first floor with the bikes and elliptical machines. The parking lot is always packed but I have always managed to find a spot.
