The Scene
There is perhaps only one inn in all of San Francisco as cozy as this one--the neighboring White Swan, which happens to be owned by the same proprietors. This is a skillfully romanticized interpretation of French country lodgings. Personal touches range from homemade cookies to a complimentary evening wine reception. The property is a short walk to Union Square, and yet comfortably distanced from the throngs.

The Details
The inn showcases earth-colored floor tiles, delicately flowered wallpaper, country furnishings and French windows and doors. The basement level features a breakfast room with French doors opening onto a small garden. As well, there is a lounge/bar area here, where good California wines and tea are served in the afternoon. Upper floors house 26 small and adorable rooms, all with private bathrooms and queen-size beds. Many also have fireplaces. The suite has a private entrance, and its own patio and Jacuzzi.

Key Points

  • Many Rooms Feature Fireplaces
  • Free Breakfast & Daily Cookies
  • Evening Wine & Hors d'oeuvres

The Inside Scoop

  1. Parking - The valet service charges $32 a night, plus tax.
  2. Know Before You Go - Reserve your room online and check for room availability and rates through the website to save time.

A little taste of homeland France in the United State. The decor and cuisine are phenominal and the staff attentive. I would recommend anyone to this place.

This place is amazing. You feel as if you were in France but with the Californian touch. French toasts are delicious and the coffee is really tasty.
The service was really nice, too.
