Poor Service, Poor Results
by Meghan H.
Bad service. I paid for vacuuming and they didn't vacuum my trunk. I told him that was why I needed the vacuuming in the first place. So, of course they don't vacuum the trunk. My car also sat in the sun for almost ten minutes before anyone started drying it so there are now water spots on it. They began drying a BMW before my Saturn even though my car came out first. Very unhappy. Won't be back again.

Guy up front changes prices depending on his mood
by Joe B.
They are good but I'm always leery of the first guy you come in contact with. I usually get the $40 quick detail but this guy has charged me $40, sometimes $41, $43 and even $45. He tells me that they just changed the price. I wish they would just standardize on one price. Otherwise the guys under the tarp usually do a good enough job (for $40). But the guy up front seems kinda shady....like he's out to make a quick buck for himself. Actually $3 average over charge times 100 cars is not a bad days work. I'm going to give them 2 stars just for this shadiness.

Costa Verde Car Wash is not worth it
by E M.
today I purchased a 'mini-detail' which included inside and out cleaning and cost $80. When I picked my car up, it still had gunk on the driver's side window (I know it's tough to get off, that's why I took it to an actual car wash place). Plus the rear view mirror, and all the door wells were still dirty (this would just require a wiping with a wet cloth!). The back of the car (it's a hatch-back) also didn't look any cleaner than when I left it.
I wish I had paid the $80 to borrow their equipment and done it myself. Do they have no pride in their work?

They skimp on the details here and that's annoying. If you're in a jam, they'll do fine I suppose but when you shell out 30 bucks for a car wash, you expect pretty good service. There have been times where they've done a nice job but other times they are so packed with cars that they don't really have time to do it properly.

Great Job!!!
by Bill J.
I received a San Diego Car Care gift card as a birthday gift from my sister. I first used it about 4 months ago and I have been a happy customer ever since! I will be back for my usual 4 Star package with vanilla air freshener.

Terrible job
by Christina C.
I spend $24 for thier 5 star wash and they did a terrible job. They didn't vaccum the back seats of my car or clean the back windows (from the inside), they barely applied the tire and rim dressing that I paid extra for, they forgot the air freshener, and the car wash itself was bad. I will never go back.

I came into this wash expecting a perfect wash, which did not turn out. I got a basic wash and wax (with no interior cleaning) and though they got all the dust and mud off of my car, they still left a few streaks on the lower half of my car. Waxing they did a quick job. There are some water spots and the windows are still slightly dirty.

There's always a little here and there they might miss when cleaning my car. But I haven't been to many car washes in San Diego, but it seems like the best one in that area. I think it may be the only one in that area! But its not that bad. There's always a coupon in the dollar stretcher or at dollarstretcher.com for that $9.95 coupon. Otherwise, its a little pricey for what you get. But location is great of course cause its near a dry cleaners and albertsons.

This gas station is located inside the Costa Verde Plaza. The location is why I like the Costa Verde Car Wash so much. They hand wash your car which makes it seem a lot more personal. Driving through a carwash just doesnt provide the cleanliness that I want. The staff is extremely friendly. A definite plus is that they're punctual

good service
by Anonymous
This place is popular. I went there on a weekday afternoon and there was a continuous stream of cars going in and out. This was in part due to location (next to Chevron, McDonalds, and Albertsons in the Golden Triangle area of La Jolla) and in part due to the excellent and thorough service.

Good but expensive

This Costa Verde Car Wash is pretty good considering it is hands free and they are able to clean your interior too. But the rates they charge is expensive. It is more than $10 for the most basic ones and it becomes more expensive if you want them to do better jobs. But when you pay the highest amount is worth the money because it takes them a long time to polish and shine your car.
Considering the area of this car wash, I guess the price is pretty reasonable as even the gas station is the most expensive in the area.
The good thing is you can become a monthly member where you can bring your car anytime and they would wash it for you. That's what I heard.

They did a fairly good job cleaning my car. There is often a long line of cars here, this success is not due to their superios car washing, but actually there is no other car wash in the area that is very convenient. They do a decent job. Located almost in the Chevron gas station.
