I love rolling my own food in the rice paper. Wish there was another place in LA I could do that.
The ambiance is blah and the waiters aren't that friendly, but the food keeps me coming back.

I would have to disagree with the other reviewers. This place was not tasty at all and I have had my share of authentic home Vietnamese cooking. The portions were small and the food was bland. When I asked the waiter for fish sauce in vietnamese, they didn't know what it was. This would definitely not be my first choice for vietnamese food on the westside. I prefer Pho 99 on wilshire and granville. Please do yourself a favor and go there instead!

Le Saigon has always a long wait outside compared to restaurants nearby. This is justified by their GREAT, authentic vietnamese food. Their products are fresh! I always order the Bun Cha which consists of cold vermicelli with some veggies such as bean sprout, lettuce, cucumber... and some pork. The vegetables always look fresh and tasty! Portions are pretty big
The prices are very reasonable for the neighborhood. They have expanded the size of the restaurant so there is less wait than what before.
I wish they would extend their menus especially with more vietnamese desserts, crepes...

PROS: Authentic Vietnamese food
CONS: the line on week ends, and parking

This is as authentic as you can get with Vietnamese food. I discovered this place a few years back when it first began and have been a place for me to get a "home cooked" meal. I wish that the menu would expand to include other hard to find dishes such as crepe and maybe even curry. I always recommend everyone to go for good food at a value.

We have been going here for several years, since it opened. We do take-out quite often. Indeed because this place is so crowded and the wait for a table is so long, it is probably easier to do take-out. In general we have been pretty pleased. They offer rice dishes, rice vermicelli dishes, and rice noodle soups, and some appetizers. Lately though we have started going to the nearby "Hanoi Cafe" since although the menu there is more limited, the ingredients seem better, and it seems easier to get atable. But don't get me wrong, "Le Saigon" is still pretty good, and we continue to order from them.
