HORRIBLE BANK!!!!!!!

by Michael E.

Coast Hills Sucks! They take forever to process transactions. The first time I had a problem I went to three different branches and three different managers before I got someone who could help. If you have to call in to ask a question be prepared for a minimum 15 minute wait, even thought they tell you somebody will be with you in 2 minutes. Today I spoke with a customer service rep. and she hung up on me even thought I was very polite to her. I have waisted my time with them, do not make the same mistake. Also they have lines out the door with only one or two clerks while oter emloyes talk to eachother or sit at there desk doing nothing. If you are looking for a federal credit union I recomend sesloc, My girlfriend has been with them for over 15 years and has not one complaint! p.s. look at the review dates. all the good ones are over 4 years old and all the complaints are of recent years.

Long hold times on large checks;

by BERNARD W.

I paid a local check for over $100k into our Super-ready checking at the Orcutt branch, the teller then told me they would place a hold of eleven days on it. I immediately asked for the check back, only to be no and that I would be charged insufficient funds if I tried to withdraw any of the funds as the check had a hold on it. Complaining to Customer Service only resulted in a vague "go back to the branch and see if they can help" I had tried that already. Also note that no interest is paid on deposits over $50k with Super-Ready checking.

Coasthills Federal Credit Union is BAD

by Bob C.

The staff is so poorly trained they can't complete basic transactions or provide basic financial services. Front line management is unprofessional, uncaring and lazy. I love my Star One Credit Union experience and Coast Hills is so much less quality in their staff and management. The Paso Robles Branch is a bad place for your money and should be avoided. There are good credit unions out there Coast Hills is not one of them. Senior Management either does not care about customer service or asleep while the poorly trained staff and management in Paso avoid questions and act busy instead of providing basic financial services as their untrained staff run around looking for someone to tell them how to do their job. It's shameful and unprofessional. Put your money somewhere else. Their are good credit unions out there, Coast Hills is not one of them.

Coasthills Federal Credit Union is lying

by Bill K.

Beware of Coasthills, they will file a complaint with the County DA on fully paid returned checks just to harass. Not such nice people as they want you to believe.

Blunder

by Ed C.

I have had an account with coast hills now for about ten years personal and buisiness and they recently changed there system on the buiss. accounts. Let me tell you this and still is a nightmare they are losing deposits not being able to access your account at times and the tellers even tell me it was idiotic to do this. This has stopped all buiss. for me and im at the mercy of them to try to figure it out. dont get me wrong the ladies i deal with are great but upper management do not know what they are doing or what they have done. At this day and age where banks, houses, credit, jobs and economy not to mention stocks you as a buiss. is going to make these negative changes to do what stress your so called friends out! The motto should read where you bank among uncertainty not friends!

Pretty Good...

by Nick G. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,780

Coasthills is a local credit union and lately they have been opening up many more local branches, which makes it very convenient for doing your banking. They usually offer good interest rates on loans and on CDs. They did not used to charge so many fees, but they have started charging more fees, like a $5 account fee per month just to have an account with them. However, you do get unlimited visits to the ATM, the tellers, point of sale and web bill paying services. I guess that the $5 per month fee is less than what many other banks charge for all of these services, so it is probably still a good deal. Coasthills also has an arrangement with many of the local car dealerships so that you can get your loan through Coasthills right at the dealership, which is very convenient.
