The smell alone here is enough to make you go aaahhhh. They have good coffee and I am not talking about regular, they brew the goodness out of those beans.

This place is just an amazing place. I mean it, there is nothing like this one in the market, and everything that they do just explodes of art all over the place.

They have a great taste in here, lots of good decorations and amazing people to go along with their amazing coffee. They certainly took my heart and served it coffee.

We were walking around, and we saw this place. We ordered the Salmon and New York Steak. We ate outside, what a nice night! The food was awesome! The food was cooked perfectly. There was as much french bread as you want, and the staff was

...and it was a madhouse! French people everywhere - which was a great sign to me. The food was decent, although I can't help but think it would have been better if there weren't so many people there...
4I?ve been here before and each time, I have had a very pleasant dining experience. On top of that, did you know this restaurant is teaming up with StreetSmart4kids? It?s actually really cool what they?re doing. I just heard about how

Down-to-earth is a great way to describe this cafe. It is just so comfortable and welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxing. The food is delicious and the service is great. The place is clean - try it out.
4Wow, after seeing some other people's reviews I don't know if we're even talking about the same place! I have eaten at Cafe Bastille probably 30 times over the past 8 years (pretty frequently considernig I live an hour from SF). I used to

Pros: Parking/Transit, Food, Ambiance, Service, Cocktails, Wine List
I usually tend to avoid restaurants that need to keep a hostess in the street to attract clients (never a good sign...), but, my husband and I were hungry. The food was mediocre, the cocktails undrinkable, and the service just bearable.

Pros: French frames on the wall???
Cons: Price, food, staff
I had the ABSOLUTE WORST experience with the Cafe Bastille staff. Our server was rude and impatient and left us sitting with our empty plates for over 20 minutes. Then she charged my debit card twice! The manager was unbelievably rude to

Cons: Awful, awful service
When my family asked where I wanted to to for my graduation dinner, I said "Cafe Bastille!" They helped to make my whole day special. I had the steak with mushroom sauce which was a real treat. There was a whole bunch of us and they were

Pros: price/value, location
Stopped by for lunch and grabbed the steak and pomme frittes for $15. Steak was grilled nicely but a bit thick and tasteless. I typically expect a thin, tasty flank or skirt steak so I was dissapointed. Frittes were decent but certainly

Pros: Cute Location
Cons: Average Food
We ate here one Saturday night because it was the only restaurant in Belden Place with open tables. That should have told us something. The food is mediocre. The service was good however.

Great place for good, reasonable priced French Cafe food. I love going for the pate, casserole and a glass of wine. Service is friendly and efficient. Only suggestion would be to make the seats more comfortable (please add cushions!).

Always used to hang out here on Friday nights for drinks, occasionally had Saturday lunch. The food is alright, but it's more fun to drink and listen to the music on Friday nights. Prices are not bad. Rafael is a great bartender. When

This restaurant was recommended by an ex-patriot and we were looking forward to the meal.
The ambiance was great- the food was poor.
What the table had:
Mussels were tasteless. The fries were nothing to rave about. The boudin had no

Pros: Ambiance, Live music, Interesting location
Cons: Tasteless food, Limited selection, Over-hyped
A friend said the alleyway reminded her of a restaurant she'd eaten at in London. I think they get that a lot, people saying the restaurant reminds them of somewhere in Europe.
The food is delicious, leaning towards traditional French
