Bistango

Bistango is a beautiful place all around! The food is some of the best I have ever had. My husband and I went there for a friends birthday and had a wonderful time we sat in the galleria and it was beautifully decorated. The staff was a bastion of service and cheer. The many questions I had were greeted with expertise and I was left at the end of meal wanting for not a single thing. A greater birthday one could not dream, a grander night one could not plan. Hats off bistango, hats off.

I recently went for the first time and ate at the bar and the food was amazing and surprisingly very modest in price. The wine list was very extensive and bartenders were very friendly and fun. I highly recomend it, whether you're alone, on a date, or with friends! I had a memorable experience!

My husband and I reserved this establishment for our rehersal dinner the night before our wedding. We felt we were forgotten at times (no one came to replenish drinks), and had to ask several waiters before getting things we needed. I also wrote a letter to the restaurant, detailing our experience but did not hear back from them. It felt to me that they really didnt care for our patronage. Needless to say, all 30 of our guest did not return to this restaurant, and each had told their family and friends.
The letter i sent:
We had reserved the Galleria for our private affair and although we enjoyed the food and decor we were dismayed by the impolite demeanor of the waiters and servers. We expect that a restaurant of your caliber would have unparalleled service to compliment the food and decor.
My husband and I had also planned to conduct a Chinese tea ceremony in the Galleria which did not need an elaborate set-up. The set-up was quite simple and only required the removal of a small table. When I asked to move a table, I was met with ardent reluctance and unwillingness. After several insistences, the waiters finally helped move the table and we expressed our gratitude for their help even though they completed our request with annoyance.
Throughout the evening, I felt intimidated to ask the waiters for more water or tea after my initial request to refill because at that time, the waiter raised his voice to me and asked in a condescending tone "How many water refill you want?" I was completely taken by suprise as were my fellow guests. I've been to many 4 and 5 star restaurants with a staff far more accommodating than your own, and I struggle to apprehend why there is such incongruence in the quality of the food and lack of good service at your restaurant?

Had dinner last night and it was my first time eating here. Wow, it was so good. The food was just delicious and the service was great. We had excellent help from Bill selecting the perfect wine for our dinner.
I would highly recommend Bistangos. I am sure we will be back again. Thank You everyone !

I discovered Bistangos on a trip to California and for the past 5 Years, I fly in from Las Vegas once a week to have dinner. I live in the City of Fine Dining and Entertainment and have been to all the best of the best here in LV. Bistangos has a wonderful ambiance and the staff is terrific. Bill Blank is always accomodating when he knows I am flying in for dinner and each week seems better than the last. The food is absolutely excellent and the Wines and special events they offer should not be missed. If you want the best and have not experienced fine dining, then make sure Bistango's is your first choice !

The restaurant that thinks it's an art gallery. Food, service and atmosphere are all very nice. The kitchen clearly knows what it's doing. After all they have been doing it for about 20 years.

I Believe you're missing out on a true gem if you don't try Bistango... The Asparagus Salad is superb, the Wine List is Excellent and the Filet is the best anywhere... I've tried the other's on the best list and they don't compare...

Pros: great pricing, very cool patio for a cigar after dinner

i've been to this establishment twice..first time was a decent experience, second time sent me directly to the hospital. I got food posioning from their garlic soup and pizza..this was confirmed by a Doctor of Medicine at the UCI hostpital. Everyone at my table that day got the same thing so this leads me to believe my food was tampered with since myself and the server exchanged some words when it took her 25 minutes to take our order.

IF YOU WANT TO BE KNEES DOWN IN FRONT OF A TOILET FOR 5 HOURS YOU SHOULD EAT AT BISTANGOS RESTURANTE.

Super friendly staff including the fabulous manager Bill. Try the Grand Marnier Souffle....it will change you're life, it's awesome!!!! Oh and the band on Friday night....they are sooo fun and great!

Where do I start?
This place has great food, but they severely lack in good service. Everybody is incredibly snobbish - from the hostess, to the waiters, to the manager. What ever happened to good service? Don't they know that word of mouth can make or break a business? Why are these people so indifferent?
Get off your high horses and give people what they are paying for.

The food here is SOO amazing! I can easily call it my favorite restaurant. The service was nice and I loved the live band.

The only reason I am even giving this establishment one star is purely for the fact that they have good food. Minus that fact, I would not give any recommendations for this restaurant. I held an event in December of 2007 and it was a large event costing $11,000+. Below is a list of my grievances. I will NEVER have an event here again.

The appetizers were late and I had to repeatedly ask the staff where the food was.
Communication was horrible.
The manager, Bill, was rude and dismissive.
I waited for an hour and 20 minutes to get the bill and it was still not ready.
I wrote a letter expressing my dissatisfaction and it was never even acknowledged.

This restaurant was highly recommended to me and I expected a much higher level of service.

Food is reasonably good but Staff is very rude and pretentious. Our waitress was gone for half an hour, then came back and said she was on break but didn't assign another server to our table. Served drink glass with large break in it. To go food was left cold on bar rather than under heater. Employess and management are very rude and snotty to guests. Not recomended!

YUMMY we went there for anniversary and it was amazing food, wonderful service, and nice environment. We loved this place. Get the Filet it is awesome and opt for the souffle it was yummy.

My fiance and I celebrate every occasion imaginable at Bistango. The first and foremost reason for this is that the food and service at Bistangos is reliable: You know that when you go to Bistangos, you will get great tasting food and service. The waiters are very very nice and knowledgable of the menu. Their garlic soup is delicious. The venison is tasty too. The atmosphere is romantic, and the music is great too.

Finally a restaurant that doesnt gouge its costomers.The food is phenomenol, the wine list is superb, and the service is outstanding. No better place. If you're a first timer, you can't go wrong with the venison cooked to perfection and the best chocolate souffle in OC.

Had not been back for a few years, even better than I remembered. Our waiter was incredible. Asked for recommendations and he gave us descriptions that sounded like a recipe they were so detailed. In other words he knew his stuff. I had the house specialties, halibut and garlic soup. Both were great. Guitar player that night was a perfect compliment to the evening. Highly recommend!

I only tried Chocolate Souffle and Cream Brulee, but they met every bit of my expectation. A must-eat in Orange County. The live jazz piano in the lounge is another reason you should try this place.
