I like this school. I went there few years back. I am really glad that I did. I went there for MA and I just finished Phlebotomy course there. They have the cheapest and fasted Phlebotomy program there. I finished everything there. Now I am just waiting for my license to come. I am actually really interested in their MRI program. I have been doing some research. Their program is the cheapest too. They are approved by ARMRIT. My experience with this school was great. I dont know why some people are complaining. I guess they have their own issues.
I would totally recomment this school.

I think this college is great. I didn't encounter any problems that the others complained about. It is the cheapest and shortest phlebotomy program around here and my teacher Ms Becera was very cool and well knowledged . I finished the 80 hour program in June, passed the state boards with 93% and now have my license. I was offered a job with Quest diagnostic and will be starting next monday. Theyre paying me $16.50/hr. I think the people who complain must have "other issues" going on. I would highly recommend this school and Ms Becera's phlebotomy class to anyone interested in a career in phlebotomy.

I went to ACMT in Gardena in 2007 finished my classes started my internship, and then this school seemed to disappear. I could not get a hold of anyone to tell me when I could take my state phleb. test. I faxed. I called and nothing. Now still to this day 2 yrs later I'm trying to get my certificates, and now come to find out they moved to carson. Is this school accredited for 2007 or not. I took the MLA/ AND PHLEB. and still no one from that school has contacted me to tell me what happened or what I can do to get cert. that I went to school for, spent time away from my kids and family paid money and have nothing to show for it. My advice don't go to this school... THIS SCHOOL IS A FRAUD...

Whoops! This is the ACMT in Carson. I did not attend the Gardena school.

I can't say what all the other programs are like, but I've just finished the didactic part of the Phlebotomy course at ACMT. I'm about to take the National Exam (which apparently only CA and Louisiana require), then my 40 hrs externship, then apply for the CPT-1 license. It's a very fast and short course, which was perfect for my schedule. I was able to take their night course 6pm-10pm with Ms. Bacerra. She's AWESOME! Super friendly, but gets down to the seriousness and techniques of phlebotomy. We had a incredibly small class of 4 people (usually it's 10ish) and everyone there had a good head on their shoulders. I guess because it's so expensive ($995 for the program, $90 for the National Exam, $75 application, another $70+ dollars for the license application), serious people are there. Once we pass our exam, we can start our externship. They have a contracted hospital that accepts externships, but students can only go one at a time. Our teacher told us to find urgent care, health clinics, etc around our area (some of us live very far) and give her the phone numbers to these places. She said she would call these places to see if they take students. They say most blood draws are in the morning, so who knows if you'll finish your 40 hrs clinical externship in a week.

I'm checking out the other programs there (MRI/Ultrasound), but need to do some outside research before I lay down all that money. As of right now, the MRI program is only accredited through ARMRIT and not through ARRT. Most places that I've seen so far only hire those registered with ARRT. I'd be afraid of getting a job, even after completing the program.

They have the best Phlebotomy program. It's cheap and fast. Teachers were so helpful, I even aced my State Board Test.
They might be the cheapest and the most reliable school in town.

I went to American College of Medical Technology in 2007. I am happy that I went to this college. I am now MRI technician and I make good money to support my family. If it wasn't for the school, I don't know what I 'd be doing now.

I am a victim of American college of medical technology .... I have been out of school over a year now , this is ridiculous the school have yet to place me at a intern cite.. I was doing my internship at ocean medical urgent care for about a month and all of a sudden the school closed down without notifying students,They changed locations now I don't know where their located. This school is a fraud please take into consideration that they don't want nothing but your money. I feel bad because I'm stuck with the bills and its unfair due to the fact I'm not even working in the field I went to school , the staff their comfort you making u Believe that the school will do all they can to make sure all of your needs are meet but its all a lie. I am just so dissopointed in this school I waisted a whole year of class for nothing.

Unfortunately, I am very dasappointed of this non-accredited school. This school was found to be non-accredited for the Limited X-ray/MA Program by the Department of Health and Human Services. All they want is your money. They don't care if the student learns or not. Therefore, be extremely cautious if you're thinking in enrolling in this unscrupulous school. They tend to sweet talk all perspective students on giving them a brilliant carrer/education. All they gave me was a ton of problems and a false illusion of becoming a Limited X-ray Technician/MA. They handled my paper-work the wrong way. As of today I am aware that I am not the only one with this problem. This statement was confirmed by the Department of Human Services. I really hope and pray to god that my case can be resolved and that all the weight of law falls on top of this school. Its very sad and shameful that schools like these tend to get away with their dishonest and/or unprofessional actions here in this well productive state that rarely does'nt detect these type of problems/frauds on time. If I had the opportunity to start my carrer I would never-ever pick this school. Therefore, I recommend all students facing problems with this school to tell their story and to submit their complaints to the Department of Human and Health Services and/or Radiologic Health Services. Don't become bait of these piranas. I don't really have another way to express my self towards this school (ACMT).

American College of Medical Technology is the worst school. It is a waste of money. You pay thousands of dollars for a education in the medical field, and can't find work after you finish. Also the career office is not that helpful in finding you a job.
