Rio Marble & Tile Inc

I bought tile for my bathroom here - after looking at many other tile stores. I was very pleased with the price and I get many compliments on the tile.

I had my own person to install it - so I can't comment on their installation people.

We got tumbled Jerusalem Stone (6x6 in) for our shower. In our innocence, we thought that each box would contain similar tiles with the normal variation that natural stone always contains. We had gotten travertine and marble previously for other work and were asked to look at each piece before we took it home, but here they said that inspection of the tiles in the sealed boxes was not allowed.

We thought we got a good deal until we realised that some of the tiles in each box had thick black lines from processing, and others had deep scratches. We also noticed that there were multiple patterns in each box - subsequent research showed they probably included rough tumbled, tumbled and honed finishes, in the Jerusalem gold and Jerusalem bone patterns. Unfortunately, we noticed that only after our tile person had put the tile on the wall.

When we complained to Rio Marble and Tile about the faulty tiles and the great variation in the tiles, they treated us as if we had no idea what tumbled tiles were - and that it was natural to have this much variation and they denied there were defects in the tiles. They refused to take responsiblity.

We are very unhappy and we will never go back to this place again, and will tell others to be wary as well.
