Chochosan is a good choice when I want sushi and I am in the valley area/on ventura blvd. I recommend their tuna rice krispy which is tuna on a crispy rice cake for appetizer. I also recommend getting their amigo tempura roll and tempura california roll. Food comes fast because the whole restaurant is situated around a sushi bar. Service was just mediocre, with my water glass not being filled even though I had ran out. Overall, this is a good choice to try. Don't get confused b/c the sign outside in the shopping center says "revolving sushi" not chochosan!

Pros: Fast service

Cons: Small restaurant

.

I and many of my friends are addicted to their shrimp salad which they include in many of their specialty rolls. Great sushi, decent prices but you'll be lucky to get in on a weekend night.

I am an avid sushi guy and eat it at least once a week since living back in Japan 14 years ago.
started out by ordering saba mackeral, squid, and tuna ...the most basic fish types, which the restaurant did not have.-highly unusual since it was a tuesday and that's when sushi places all order their fish from the market so that wasn't an excuse.
ended up ordering tuna roll, maki octopus, and spider roll, and some albacore sashimi for my mother. Weird thing was that the chef could not memorize my order even though it only consisted of 4 items. so then i offered to write it down so he can have it in front and he just arrogantly told me to order one at a time.

so i am forced to order one at a time verbally since the guy (not japanese, very poor english) can't even memorize 4 items...service was slow...the rolls are not wrapped tightly (all the rice fell out)and the fish wasn't fresh
so here comes the weirdest thing...the chef does not even look at me for the next 15 mins (usually a sushi chef would ask you if you wanted anything else, etc.) and it's not like the guy was busy...he had about 8 patrons (us included) and 2 other sushi chefs at the bar.
so after about 15 mins of waiting for nothing and getting angry i finally raise my voice and said "hey"...to which the guy stares back and says in broken english "i have name" ....and gave me the rudest look i have experienced in any restaurant from a server
I didn't exactly catch his name but i got another spider roll and stormed out after paying the check

There are many sushi places in valley, esp. ventura blvd...avoid going here at all costs, unless you want to eat a bunch of anger for dinner.

Pros:good green tea, not rowdy
Cons:rude, inefficient, idiot chefs, limited menu (fish), high prices, very dirty, rolls are poorly made and small

One word: yum! All the sushi chefs are great, but Rudy makes the best hand rolls.

GREAT SUSHI! I love this place! Authentic sushi with great service. I had to rate it a B due to parking, wait and price. If you plan on eating at Cho Chos give yourself some time in line. In all it is well worth a try, I gurantee you will return for more.

This is a small restaurant, but it's now become my favorite sushi place. They seat you around the sushi chefs, who are making fresh sushi, per your order, in front of your eyes. We tried 4 orders and they were all out of this world! Try Rock & Roll and Crunchy Crab. Rock & Roll is baked scallops with mayonnaise, and Crunchy Crab is thinkly sliced crab meat that's crunchy wrapped in soy paper instead of seaweed. I'm not giving it justice by my description, but I fully intend to go back often!! Ask the chefs for recommendations... they are very accomodating, friendly, and fun to watch!
