What I want about this grocery store is that everything is organized. Items for sale are properly labled, so that customers can easily find them without any hassle.

I reccomend Nak's Market to anyone who appreciates Fresh produce, meat, fish, tofu as well as dutch and indonesian foods. They do carry Asian food as well. This is the only mom and dad store still standing and running today for over 38 years. Ikie makes the best sushi and is a traditional japanese cooking. Keep up the good work Nak's. You deserve the 10 points!

Was amazed at how fresh the produce was and was tickled to by the helpfulness of the husband and wife team that run the store. Outstanding service, the fresh tofu is amazing, the sashimi I bought for sushi was gorgeous, and even got free tips on Japanese cooking from Mrs. Kurose who knows everything about Japanese cuisine. If you want to shop where you can get individual attention, fresh produce, fish, and service with a smile, I highly recommend Nak's.

Yes, it is really true. Nak's is a small shop in Menlo Park and they are perfect if you're looking for Japanese food. They have even fresh fish for a perfect Sushi or Sashimi and a variety of fresh vegetables. They have also a small choice of Japanese tableware.
And the astonishing thing: They have also a great variety of food from the Netherlands. I think it is the only place where you find Schokomel of Fla and the best Dutch cookies as well as ingredients for Dutch-Indonesien cuisine in Silicon Valley.
The owners are very friendly and will give you help to find what you're looking for.

A cute little food store that you can find almost anything for an Asian dish, from fresh veggies to dried shrimp, and Japanese, Chinese to Thai and Vietnamese ingredients. The owner, Sam, will try to stock items that you recommend. My children love the snacks rarely found elsewhere.

The major Japanese supermarkets are a long way from Menlo Park. Fortunately a nice, local option is available - Nak's Oriental Market. Nak's specializes in the items one finds only in a Japanese supermarket. And the friendly proprietor will special order any item for you that is not in the store and have it ready for pick-up in a day or two. You won't find these brands nor this service at Safeway!

If you are searching for a real Japanese Market just stop in at Naks Oriental Market. The place is tiny and jam packed with real Japanese goods. Having lived in Japan for over 2 years, I can tell you that Naks is very authentic.

They sell a wide variety of Dutch goodies (black licorice, Dutch pancake and poffertjes mix, stroop, stroopwafels, roosvice, chocomel etc.) and a lot of Dutch-Indonesian food items (e.g. spice mixes, kroepoek, ketjap manis, atjar).

Pros: The friendly owners will even custom order products from The Netherlands!

Cons: Closed on Sundays
