I frequent China Max when I am in San Diego on business. Their dim sum is fantastic and always a treat! I highly recommend their food, service is good, and the overall value is excellent.

I'vet only been here once and it was a small family party. It was pretty much seafood and the food was very good. The only downside was that I guess it was a busy time so they cleaned out our food and it took a little while for them to serve us the next one. However, in the end, the waiters were nice enough to help us packing up the leftovers so it wasn't too bad.

The good is pretty good, it's just like any other dim-sum place you can go to. The atmosphere is nice. They bring out the food from the kitchen really fast.

first off, the name should definitely put you off. this place is weird. sure it's "authentic", but please. if you have to eat in a restaurant that's got 4 main glass walls so the street can watch you eat, i don't know what to tell you. the food is greasy, the waiters rude (but then again their english is broken), the setting is like a wannabe contemporary art museum. how about a big no.

This restaurant is a great find not only for those that enjoy chinese cuisine but for anyone that enjoys good cooking. For those that long for Cantonese cooking, this is the place to go to. The servers are very polite and attentive. There is no need to call their attention should you need more tea or something else as they seem to always be around at just the right time. They also make recommendations which are always helpful. Make sure to order the house specialties (found in a separate menu) as they are really excellent . Do not forget to order the live dungeness crab (cooked fisherman style) as it is heavenly. It is sold at market price which is a bit expensive but well worth what you paid for. They will give you a lot of the garlic, ginger, scallop "sauce" along with it and make sure you ask them to have the left over to go as it goes well as topping on steamed rice.
PROS: ample parking space, servers are very polite and professional
