Don't be fooled. Marco is not a good person(I would say more inappropriate word if I could). First his job is not good at all and he charges alot as it is. All he had to do is change the heels to a rubber ones on two shoes and stretch one. He ended up stretching all 3 pairs and changing the heels on all three of them. Third pair already had rubber heel but he still swapped it. When I told him that's not what I wanted he said pay or leave the shoes with other inappropriate phrases. Each pair costs $120+ so I was not willing to leave it there otherwise I would throw it at his face. All this time while I was talking to him, he was eating something and spitting the food all over the counter. After I told him I will write a bad review and that he does not know how to do business he replied that he is from another country and he don't give a f**k. Wow!!!

I had an awful experience with A Minute Man. I went in to have one of my hiking boot soles glued because it was coming off. I left the shoe with a woman and was told that I would get a call back from a guy with a quote. The call never came so I had to follow up with a call. I was told it would cost $18. I thought this was a bit high but since they already had my shoe I told him to go ahead and fix it. I picked it up, paid, and the shoe looked fine. I asked if the repair was guaranteed and he said, yes.

I then went on one backpacking trip only to return to find out that the sole was coming unglued again. Basically, whatever glue he used was absolute crap and not suitable for such use. I could have been in serious trouble if the sole had come off during the trip.

I went to show him the shoe and to ask for my money back. I explained the situation to some young girl at the counter. She then went to the back and told the shoe guy. The guy came out, already in a bad temper, and told me there was no guarantee on repaired shoes. He said there was absolutely nothing he would do. He told me to take his card and that he didn??t care what I said about his business. I left without compensation or a new repair. Ironically, on his business card it says ??We Guarantee Your Satisfaction 100%.? Nothing could be farther from the truth. I did not get the guys name directly but the card says, Marco. He is Spanish speaking and has black curly hair.

I was totally shocked by this store. I recommend that people avoid this place at all cost. It??s not worth wasting your time here just because the location is downtown Mountain View.

I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (http://www.bbb.org). You can file complaints online and it is straightforward. Don??t let such business practices go undocumented.

I have never had such a horrible experience in my life, this would be negative stars if it were possible. I sent 2 purses to be repaired, one an expensive (about $250) honey brown leather one that needed a small screw to be used to reattach a handle, one vintage snake skin purse that needed the strap re-sewn (I have had the exact same thing done a year ago for $8). I had to go to the shop 3 times. This is very excessive considering the first time I went was almost a week after their given pick up date. The first time neither purse had been touched(after 2 weeks!).

When I went back a week and a half later I found my leather bag ruined. The repair man had drilled (DRILLED!) a hole and stuffed a large device(not sure what it is, looks like a retractable bar) into the handle to create an ugly way to reattach the handle. All it needed was a screw! It looks butchered and I don't use it anymore (what a waste of money!). The lady didn't charge for it and said that she would call me when the vintage one was ready.

It was very unpleasant when she called 3 weeks later saying that I had 2 days to pick it up or she would sell it. When I did come in she charged $30 for the resewing. When I questioned the price she was very rude and sat down to read a magazine ignoring me. Eventually they told me the price included the botched purse. When I told her what we had discussed, she denied it and said
"I remember that purse, it looked fine, it was black?"
"no"
"Pink"
"no, it was tan"
Then later on when I told her how much it cost, she called me a liar! She was so audacious that she was yelling and throwing her hands in my face. I picked up my vintage piece and she JUMPED on me! This is when my boyfriend came in the store and told her he would pay $30 and for her to stop grabbing me. She told him that she would charge him more. I have never experienced such a crazy person in my life! The repairman came out and told her to go in the back and apologized and took care of the rest. I will NEVER go there again(unless I want to be assault again).
