EL PESCADOR, located in La Jolla since 1974, provides the freshest and finest fish around. A full service fish market that remains unsurpassed for its quality and selection. On a daily basis from 10 - 8 we offer hot char-grilled and sauteed seafood items, such as sandwhiches, plates, and salads. Proudly serving San Diegan's for thirty years, we hope that you will join us soon...In March of 1978, sixteen year old Sean Shannon traded his paper route in for his first real job, "El Pescador-clean-up-kid". Seven years later Shannon opened his own store on Pearl Street in La Jolla. Since then the menu has increased to an array of char-grilled and sauteed seafood items. The full service fish market remains unsurpassed for its quality and selection. It has now been proudly serving San Diegan's for over thirty years.

This is a great place to get fresh fish or prepared dishes. The soup, chowder and fish tacos never disappoint. It's always clean and the smell (or lack thereof) is a sure sign that the fish is fresh and the display well maintained. Highly recommended.

If you don't have much time, this is a great place to get a quick sandwich or bowl of chowder to go. I don't think you can find a better clam chowder anywhere. It is delicioso!
A small bowl can really warm you up and fill you up too. Add a few soup crackers and yummy lunch.

I love this place and go there frequently. I usually get things to go because there's no ambience-- just a counter and a few tables. However-- who cares what the place looks like when the fish is so good? I usually get a fish sandwich or a simple plate of grilled fish, rice and side salad. Delicious !

One of the best grilled fish sandwiches I've had in San Diego! This is a very simple restuarant but the food is delicious! It's the kind of place that you order up at the counter and then take your food to a table... it's a great place to grab a quick bite... and the fish is super fresh! I would highly recommend the grilled swordfish! Yum!!!

Lovely Fish market/Restaurant nestled in beautiful La Jolla

I enjoyed the fact that my fish sandwich was being made at the very same fish market. The salmon sandwich I had was cooked wonderfully and was not dry at all(unlike some places that don't know how to cook salmon properly). Overall, I liked the small nature of the shop and food was just great!
Pros: Delicious fish sandwiches!
Cons: Sometimes theres a wait =(

Awesome - friendly, fresh, delicious. The bread is fresh and the menu changes to reflect the freshest catches. I really enjoy this place every time I go.
