Top Dog's are a staple in the Berkeley diet. The people who work there are always a bit odd, but friendly. Top dog is way better than any street hot dog, period. It must be the grilling.

It's always fun to read all the faded weird libertarian propaganda and bumper stickers on the wall while you wait.

It's uber-tiny in there, so when it's crowded you really have to fight your way to the counter.

This place has the best hot dog in Berkeley. It has even variety of food you can eat. The best thing is everything they sell taste really good and the price are not expensive at all. They also open till late night so anybody got late craving, they can always come here and have a nice good food.

A Berkeley land mark, Top Dog is more than just a late-night (open til 3am) hot dog stand. With a tasty selection of sausages & dogs with all the fixings, its served up by a grillsman (or grillswoman) that can engage the customer, sometimes in debate of the latest political goings-ons, sometimes about what happens in the Star Trek re-run on the TV by the counter.

Reminding patrons of Berkeleys reputation as a hotbed of dissent and critique, the restaurants walls are papered with cartoons and quips to inspire patrons to the importance of the role of an individual citizen in society. More than just a hot dog, Top Dog is a place I go to sate my mind as well as sate my stomach.
