9/9/06 Now I know why they are offering 33% off. They have increased the prices 25% and are providing less food. I'd say the portions are at least a third less plentiful. I ordered the 5 item combo, $11.99 and the chicken fajita nachos, $7.99. The chain used to pride itself in freshness, and it seems they have lost their way. The nachos were pretty good and is a fair value with about 20 thick chips loaded with beans, diced chicken, and jack cheese. The combo plate was warm which is not a good sign. It was sitting while I was eating the nachos. The food was barely warm. The taco was pretty good but the rest of the food was too cold too enjoy. Shredded beef is not an option - only ground. The chips were great as always - thin and crispy, but of they were running out of them. The salsa has changed as well. It was chunkier in the past and they have adopted a chipolte blend now. I noticed that the nachos grande is half as high as it used to be and its $2.00 more on a smaller plate. I see this chain's greatness falling as did Chi-Chis. This is sad, for there are not too many American style Mexican restaurants left in California. I do not feel management will be able to overcome the operation and quality control problems.
