I totally agree with the first review: come here for drinks but go somewhere else for dinner! The food here is mediocre and overpriced. That said, the margaritas and sangria are really tasty. My favorite thing about this place is that they have live music on the weekends. It tends to draw a much different crowd from many other bars in the neighborhood.

We go to La Barca for birthdays or any group get together. The bar is awesome, and the food is delicious. I love their Chimichunga, its fattening but soooo good. I highly recommend it!

la barca is the best place in the town to see all aspects of city life. you'll see preps, gangsters, scene-sters, sports fans, surfers, hot chicks, douch-bags, etc. it's down to earth and you don't really feel like you are in the marina

the mexican is blah but it's a huge restaurant with a lively crowd. The margaritas were ok but not anything to brag about. I'd return but more for fun than for the actual restaurant experience.

I think the food here is pretty good. I don't think it's very authentic, but it was tasty. I also liked the chips and salsa. And if you are looking for a stiff drink, this place is for you. It turns into a night spot on Fri and Sat nights.

La Barca has a great bar area with pitchers of fabulous margaritas, making for a really fun place to meet up with friends or co-workers. However, the food is so-so and the service is pretty awful. I still visit La Barca regularly for their happy hours, but not for a meal.

PROS: Great Margaritas, Nice Bar Area
CONS: Bad Service, Unimpressive Food

I'm not sure if it is always this way, but this is the craziest restaurant I have been to in SF. Maybe it was the after baseball game crowd, or perhaps the Marina pub crawl, but folks her were D-R-U-N-K. The food is pretty average and

The food was OK but the service was terrible. With several pitchers of margaritas, we ordered a separate drink for one person who doesn't like margaritas. To this the server said it would take too long because the bar is crazy right now.

I'm usually not all that enthralled with sweet-tasting drinks, but the sangria here is outstanding -- and it nicely cuts the heat of your meal. Get a pitcher of sangria to share, but be careful -- it's tastes almost like fruit punch, but
