I found this salon on line and read all reviews.So i decided i would try it out for a haircut and color.It was really nice very welcoming and my stylist was very enertaining and had lots of knowledge with haircuts and specialized in color.i will definately be a lifetime client.

I am new to the San Diego area, and i went on yelp to find a salon. Elias Salon came up and had many good reviews, so I decided to try it out. I called and I had no problem getting a same day apt. I also saw they were offering a coupon on yelp, for first time clients, so I took advantage of that! I got a partial highlight and a haircut and blow dry for $90! The hairstylist was new to that salon, she was very nice and did a wonderful job! Her name was Holly. She gave me exactly what i wanted! I am gonna definitely come back! They also do many other services there too. That is great for me! I recommend this Salon!

was desperate to get myself looking good for Thanksgiving, and I waited til the last minute to make an appointment. I found Elias Salon on citysearch and called them right away. They got me in right away and the girl on the phone was very nice and friendly. I got my haircut and my eyebrows waxed and a pedicure. Three different stylists worked on me and they were all faboulos! I felt and looked so good when I left and the price was very reasonable! I am a new customer for life!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a big party to go to on tuesday and Im a pretty regular customer of Naz and I got the whole work, got color haircut waxing and a pretty updo to go along with it
And let me tell you it looked sexy and I was complimented on my hair all night long. Thank you Naz for making my night a great one.

I have been going to Elias Salon and Spa for 26 years and have never been disappointed with a haircut. They have great colorist, stylists and the location is central so I can get their with ease from either work or home.

Never a problem getting appointment times for either hair or nails. Check it out!

I got a hair cut the other day at Elias Salon, and I never got so many compliments on my hair!! I decided to change my look, and asked for a easy managable but stylish cut. The stylist, a guy...sorry...forgot the name, but he spent time with me and we talked about what I want. It looked awesome... I am sooo happy. My hair is pretty thick and somewhat curly so not too many people know how to deal with it. The stylist also talked to Elias to owner, who gave him some tips. I would recommend this salon.

I have been going to Elias's salon and spa for over six months and I go twice a week. I have had nothing but good experiences with the staff. Naz is the best at everything from coloring to cutting and styling. I have had several of the others work on my hair too. They are all very talented!! I just went to Elias Salon and Spa for the third time, with three different people. I have never dont that before, but to my surprise I was happy with each person that I had. I just moved into the area from Los Angelas and I fugured I will try the salon since it was convenient for me. The first time I got a hair cut (changed from shoulder length hair to chin length) and it was great! I got lot's of compliments. Then I went a second time and got hightlightes but did not ask for anyone since I could not remeber the name of the person that cut my hair. I ended up with a different stylist and again, my highligtes looked great and were exactly as I wanted, very subtle. The last time I went yesterday, I go a hair cut, and this time I purposly did not ask for anyone, I was curious to see if the stylist I got was diffenent and if they did a good job and to my surprise again great job. The salon is casual and friendly and it seems that all the stylists are experienced. I will continue to go to the salon and I am no longer hesitant about who I get.

I attempted to seek out Tomas twice for a hair cut after reading all the rave reviews about this salon & his exptertise.

My first experience I was told upon arrival to the salon that he had called in sick minutes before I showed up. Mind you this was after 5:00 in the afternoon. They then offered someone else to cut my hair - she was new & did an average job. Ok, Fine.

Second attempt - I arrived at the salon & waited 15 minutes past my appointment - during my wait, the receptionist was talking to a client on the phone to reschedule an appointment for a stylist who was a no call / no show for 2 days. Then my stylist called the receptionist & could not make it in b/c of car problems - the receptionist offered to have someone else cut my hair or reschedule.

While I can't rate Tomas's abilities, I will not go to this salon again -I was very dissappointed & think this post is food for thought others! What do they say - third time, shame on me?

That's what people tell me! I get a lot of compliments on my hair since I have been going to this salon. I always get a great haircut and color here at a reasonable price. The entire staff is friendly and professional and that makes this a very nice salon to go into. It's taken me a while to find a great haircut in San Diego - but this is it!

My friend tried to color my hair at home, and it turned out GREEN! I had to go to work the next day like that, so I wore a hat. I thought I was going to have to dye it darker to cover it up, but I called Elias Salon (I had a coupon) and I got Krishanne (I'm not sure if I'm spelling it right). She gave me these beautiful highlights and got rid of the green. And she was so FUNNY and never made me feel bad for screwing up my own hair. The salon was a fun experience and all the stylists there told me how good I looked. I got a spa pedicure and waxing too. All great. Recommend.

Tyrone may very well be the industrys best-kept secret. To say youll get your moneys worth is an insult to a stylist whose talent far exceeds the cost of his work.

Over the years Ive dropped some big bucks at salons all over so cal. I have become fed up with these stylists inconsistencies and cheep tricks to make a buck and sell a product. Too many times Ive walked away feeling swindled and worse yet, looking like Ive been kissing a lawn mower. A few weeks ago I got married, yeah!! Anyway I wanted a salong that would take care of the group of 12 people including me, to do our hair for the wedding. I heard good things from a friend about the salon, but I have never been there before. I called to inquire and talk to someone about doing our wedding, and about our plans etc.. I was referred to the owner, Elias. He organized everything, hair styles for some, up do's, make up, manicures and pedicures. When I first talked to him he told me to come to the salon meet him, see the salon and do a bridal hair, make up for my wedding day as a trial. He knew that I would be nerveious so he did all he can to set my mind at ease. On the appointment day, the salon opened earlier to accomadate all of us. Everyone was friendly, the receiptionist offered us all cofee and they brought bagels and donuts for us. When we were all done everyone was happy. I was amazed they were able to do all of us at the same time, we were even half an hour ahead of schedule which gave the photographer enough time to take pictures of the bridal party. The service was excellent, and I could tell that they knew what they were doing. Now that I am looking at the wedding pictures and I see how awesome everyone looks, I am even more happy with the outcome!!

I called the salon last week to make an appointment for my hair cut and highlighting. The stylist that last did my hair was not there, so I was referred to someone else. When I went to the salon, the results were awesome! I am pleased to say that it was even better then the time before. I have been going to the salon for over 5 years now and I have had several people do my hair and I have never been disappointed. I would recommend this salon to anyone. Also the owner and the receiptionists at the front desk are friendly and courteous and take time on the phone to talk to the customer when making an appointment

I had a great experience with Elias Salon. I went in for a facial and a hair color....was really impressed with how professional and courteous the staff was. I was really pleased with the results. I was thrilled to find that they have my favorite line of products on the shelf ..ARTISTRY!!! I've been using Artistry for last five years and was trying to find these products since I moved here from New York. I would recommend this Salon to everyone!!!

Made an appointment for a consultation with Tomas for 1pm. Arrived at 12:55 and no Tomas. Owner sold me on a nail fill while I waited for Tomas (who I was told is always late). I allowed a totally inept manicurist 30 minutes to make a mess of my nails until I couldn't take it anymore and still no Tomas to be found.
BUYER BEWARE.

Naz is such an amazing colorist and stylist at Elias Salon in UTC...wow! I was so fortunate to find her...there are so few who have her talent and will work with you to get the look you will love! She really cares and will take the time to make your hair color and style perfect. I learned that painting is her hobby, and it really shows in her ability to mix gorgeous color that looks completely natural. She will really take care with your hair so that it has wonderful color and style, but stays super healthy. She is such a sweet person also, and makes the salon experience relaxing while she works her magic!!

Upon making the appointment over the phone, I asked for two things: 1) a particular stylist, "Tomas", and 2) price of haircut. I was told that the stylist I asked for, although given rave reviews online, was not the best stylist in the salon and was actually, "only good with the computer." After much coaxing on my part, I was given an appointment with Tomas. I, then, asked for the price of the haircut and was told $50. Sounds reasonable for a haircut from a reputable stylist.

When I came into the salon for my appointment, I was told Tomas would not be available to cut my hair because "he is not here and will be back in one hour." The owner, Elias, proceeded to walk me to an available stylist, and at this point, I decided I may as well get my hair cut. The stylist was professional and good, but I have to agree with a past reviewer that it was a 10 minute cut, followed by 30 minutes of styling.

When paying, Elias charged me $55, $5 more than I was quoted over the phone!! I hated that I had to argue for my price point, but I did, and eventually the price was reduced.

My haircut was decent... however, not worth $50 for the highly unpleasant overall experience. I will not return to Elias salon.

Okay, so I've always wanted long hair but can't seem to grow it past my shoulders. I went found out that Elias salon offered hair extensions. I went in for my free consultation. I was fortunate to find out they were offering a special for the months of February and March! So i decided to have them done and I was so happy! I look like a Barbie doll! She matched my hair perfectly. they look so natural no one can tell I have extensions in except for my friends who knew my hair wasn't that long! I feel like I have beautiful long hair for the first time in my life!

I found this Salon through my friends and I always worry because my hair was damaged last time I colored it, so you could imagine how worried I was changing my hair color. The salon was clean and neat the front desk receptionist was very friendly, I was introduced to Naz. So after working her magic on my hair, I got the perfect hair color and she helped my damaged hair color gain back its shine and its so silky smooth now and after she finished with that she gave me a perfect haircut I could go crazy just going on about how much better my hair looks now. Long story short I recommend this place to anyone and Naz specially if you want anything that's got to do with hair PERIOD. She's a guru.

I found the Salon on City Search and I went to get my color done. I was impressed with the service at the front desk. I decided to buy a beauty package which included facial, massage, manicure and pedicure. It was such a pleasant experience in which I did not have to pay and deal with different operators, everything was handled at the front desk, not like other rental salons. I will recommend the salon to my friends especially if they want to have more than one service

After years of trying to find someone to highlight my hair the way I wanted, I finally found Kelly. She is a wizard with highlights. I have been to the best and most expensive salons in San Diego. Kelly is the only one who has delivered exactly what I wanted. This is a great, reasonably priced salon. In fact, the entire salon is nice and customer service oriented.

I just moved from Chicago into the La Jolla area and was looking for a salon. I was a bit nerveous because I loved my stylist in Chicago. I made an appointment for Elias Salon since a co-worker recommended it to me, I needed hightlights and a cut. The stylist I saw spent a lot of time consulting with me before she started my color to ensure that she knew what I wanted. The results were AWESOME, even better then my stylist in Chicago (sorry Bobby).. The cut was great as well. I felt completely satisfied and the price was reasonable. I love this place and I am so glad my co-worker Rachel recommended it to me. I would recommend this place to anyone. The staff was very nice. They do specialize in color and the stylist I had as well as the others, seemed all very experienced and confident. I also saw the owner there which means that there is quality control. I love this place, and I am so happy now that I found a salon in san diego!!!!

A friend recommended Elias Salon to me so I called and made an appointment. I was starting a new job and I wanted to have a fresh new look and color yet profession. When I called I asked for someone really good with color and I was told that every one in the salon is good and I will not be disappointed. They were right I was not disappointed!! The color was great exactly what I wanted and the haircut really brought out the best of the high lights. The cut and style made me feel feminine yet very professional and sophisticated. I actually had two people who did my hair. One guy did my color and woman did my cut. I liked the fact that it was team effort. I really liked the people and the salon. After I went home I sent my boyfried straight over there also!!! I really would recommend this to anyone, prices were reasonable for the La Jolla area and worth every penny. I have never rated a business before but I felt so good and confident that I wanted to rate this place.

I just got my haircut here and it was a very stressful experience. It did not turn out how I wanted at all. The guy who cut my hair seemed very inexperienced with hair and styled it like I was an 80s movie star, big and lots of hairspray. I immediately went home and washed it all out and redid it. I will never go back to this salon again and I will never have a man cut or do my hair again. It was a very bad experience. And to top it all off at the register I handed them the 1/2 half coupon and they said that it would just take 10 bucks off the 50 dollar price for the haircut. So apparently this salon does not know how to do math...1/2 off equals ten dollars off the original price and a terrible haircut. I was fuming. The guy who cut my hair was nice enough to only charge me 30. What a headache!

Elias Salon and Spa is awesome!! I got color and cut and I walked out feeling like a star. The person that did my hair was great, I think his name was Jonathan. He took his time and was very personable. I liked the color, it was as I wanted, and the cut was great. I was treated well. Location is great and the parking was validated. A friend recommended the salon to me, although they went to someone other then Jonathan and they had the same experience. The owner of salon was there and was attentive to all the customers. I would difenetly go back and would reccomend Jonathan and the salon in general to my friends.

Relocating to San Diego from just outside Manhattan, I didn't know where to turn to when it came time for me to get a makeover before flying out to my sister's wedding. I spoke with Elias, the Owner, over the phone who answered all of my questions and calmed my fears of a bad hair experience, encouraging me to come into the salon for a consultation with Tyrone. Based on a past bad experience on the East Coast, I was cautious. Having difficult to manage hair always means that I know who to stay with once they pass my hair test. Tyrone passed my test with above the mark results! He was compassionate, listened to what I wanted and gave me guidance / suggestions during my consultation. I had faith in his judgment and to this day I'm glad that we were paired up. The haircut & styling was perfect for my face and the highlights were the best that I've ever had- going to salons in Manhattan, Westchester County New York and Newbury St in Boston in recent years, this experience was the best! I've never had so many compliments on my hair... I've found my salon on the West Coast and will certainly recommend it to my friends / co-workers.

I am so glad to the woman I met and talked to in downtown La Jolla who recommended me to her hairstylist named " TOMAS " at Elias Salon and Spa. Her hair looked so perfect and beautiful in everyway! She told me that a good friend of hers recommended her to TOMAS after almost giving up hope on finding a hairstylist who would pay attention to what she wanted and someone who knows what he is doing. I told her I knew what she was talking about, because I was feeling the same way she did too. Upon visiting Tomas at Elias Salon and Spa I found him to be very conscious, focused, and professional in everyway. So After thorough consultation he said he knew exactly what I had needed. So when he finished I was so completely and totally ecstatic that I couldn't believe it. The color, the highlights, and especially the haircut and style looked so good, it was to die for and I am so very happy. I am a business woman who holds a position in a very highly competitive work evironment and, the way I look is very important to me. Because my new look has made me feel so much more confident, energetic and exhilarated in everyway, I have taken the time express my sincere thanks and gratitude to" TOMAS '. A true honest professional and a person that I admire and would recommend to anyone who needs and wants to feel the same way I do

I just moved to San Diego from Los Angeles and needed a good hair lady. I was so afraid to try someone new as I am very used to my girl in LA. I read reviews for different salons and came across a review someone had written about Kelly. I called the salon and made an appointment with her and told the receptionist I needed someone who was good with color. My hair is brunette but was turning a reddish brassy color and I needed color correcting. Upon visiting the salon I was turned off by the uncleanliness. The salon is gross. However, Kelly knew EXACTLY what she was doing so do not be fooled by the exterior. Kelly used to own her own salon and knew exactly what she was doing! My hair came out looking beautiful and she cut just the right amount. The color was a rich brunette with very subtle sunkissed blonde highlights, not streaky at all! Kelly was also very personable and very knowledgable of all aspects of hair. Highly reccomend her! :)

Elias has a friendly feel- the same people work there most of the time and are amiable to each other and their customers. However, services here are on the expensive end. Have seen a few different stylists there, and each has been good but not worth going back to unless the price is discounted.

A friend recommended me to Elias Salon and Spa for Hair Color and cut. I have been looking for a good reasonable salon and I was not disapointed. I had highlightes with color in between to cover the gray and then a hair cut. The color was exactly as I had hoped and I got a fresh new hair cut that was stylish yet still works in a professional environment. I work at UCSD and I needed to have a professional look, yet I wanted style and that is exactly what I got. The prices were reasonable and the results were excellent. I made a follow up appointment and will recommend the salon to my friend.

So I found Elias a few months back right here on Citysearch and was thrilled with my first cut/color (each service performed by different stylists, who were both very friendly and fun and skilled). However, when I went back for my second appt, which I'd made a good week in advance, I was told by the receptionist "oh, ***(stylist) never showed up for work today") I was pretty angry they hadn't called me, since 4 hours had passed since she was supposed to be in for work!! Not to mention I'd scheduled my whole day around the appointment. I was able to get a cut by another stylist, which was ok, but they've lost my business permanently due to poor customer service.

The stylists at Elias are genuinely friendly, which seems to be rare in salon employees elsewhere... The location is walking distance from a number of apartment buildings, which is convenient (I live near here, which is why I ended up at Elias in the first place). They are very good about accommodating walk-ins, also. Prices are high, but worth it for the level of service.

I've tried numerous salons in the past year, all of varying prices and this is definitely my favorite. Fair prices with excellent results! I'm very picky with my hair color and was pleasantly surprised to that I left with the EXACT hair color I had invisioned. The staff was friendly and I got a lot of time to talk about my needs and concerns before the service actually started. Highly recommended.

With my busy schedule I don't have alot of time to spend on my hair, and I feel it is essential to look as good as I can for myself and the company that I work for. Being on the go all the time, can be very hectic and frustrating at times, especially looking to find a salon and a hairstylist that would understand my needs and could give me a hairstyle that would be both pleasing and suitable for my busy lifestyle. So one day I visited "Elias Salon and Spa" for the 1st time to get a quick manicure and pedicure before leaving town. The service along with the atmosphere in the Salon was both soothing and relaxing. As I looked around the Salon I noticed a hairstylist doing wonders with this woman's hair. I didn't see the client when she came in, but when he was finished with her, I was completely amazed on how good she looked. I asked the stylist named "TOMAS" if he would have something in mind for me. After a brief consultation, he carefully examined my hair and told me that while I was away he would create and design something especially for me. I came back the next week and sure enough, he kept his promise. I am so very pleased! I look and feel so astonished every time I do my hair. I would definitely recommend "TOMAS" to anyone who needs a new change and a hairstyle to make you feel completely amazing everyday. Therefore I plan on indulging myself every chance I can to all the wonderful services available by all of the lovely and talented people of "Elias Salon and Spa" who helped in making my visit so remarkable and memorable.

I was searching for a new salon in my new workplace neighborhood and found through citysearch, Elias Salon and spa. The first time I went in I had a trim to check out the place. The front desk staff was very kind, the stylist that I had cut my hair, Louie ( other staff members were calling him Luigi because he worked and lived in Italy ) did a great job , and gained my trust. He was discussing color with another stylist there, Sandi and I was impressed by thier color knowledge. Thier willingness to share from eachothers different pasts was interesting to me.

Best brazilian waxing in town! The facialist is excellent! Very gentle and caring. Competitive prices in a higher end area of San Diego. Will be trying their facials and massages as well.

I have been to this Salon three times for waxing services and am always very happy with the service. I was seeing another waxer that moved away and didn't think that I would find someone else that I would be comfortable with; however, I am very happy with the service. Evening appointments are available and that is a BIG plus. Two thumbs up!

I had to write a review about the skincare services at this salon because I have been treated so well and received excellent help here. I had recently been going through a bout of some mild acne and my skin was just not looking so well during the winter months. The Aesthetician has really helped me out and done so in a relaxing, ejoyable enviornment. I highly recommend her for skincare services as she seems very knowledgeable. The salons prices are very reasonable and the aesthetician seems to be available on my schedule.

I was recently searching for a new place to get regular facials, which I try to get once a month, and came across Elias Salon and Spa. The Esthetician at this salon is so caring and truly knows skincare. I have gone to her a couple of times now and am thoroughly pleased with the experience every single time. She does a good job on my skin, yet makes it an enjoyable experience. The prices are reasonable for a very good service!

I recently had color done at a slon, and my color was terrible it had a greenish tone to it, I did not want to go back to the salon because of the bad experience I had. So I looked up salons and found Elias Salon and Spa. I went for a consultation and then set an appointment for color correction. The stylist I went to was great. She consulted with the owner on how to do the correction even though she knew what she was doing, she told it is always best to get another opinion. The results I go were excellent, they were exactly what I originally wanted from that "other" salon. I have since recommended the salon to others, and I will be going there for regular color touch ups. I had a very good experience.

I love Elias Salon and Spa. I get color every 6 to 8 weeks and cut, and I like the treatment. It is a friendly casual salon with excellent service. It is not one of those stuffy salons, yet I get good treamtment, and I feel like it is an outing for me. I usually go to the same stylist, however, I have had several people do my hair and have never had a bad experience. Try it and I know you will like it.

Elias salon is a great salon!
Everyone is very friendly and the hair stylists are very good!....if you're looking for a change of look! you don't have to be afraid of getting a haircut you don't want! ....they will do as you tell them to do and they give you great advice too!...
another good thing about elias salon is its location!....after getting a haircut you can walk to starbucks or to einstein bagels!......they also have very REASONABLE PRICES!!!........

They are good at them all! The thing I like best about the salon is that they really care about your hair looking the best. When I asked my regular stylist to do an up-do for a wedding that was coming upshe actually reccomended someone else at the salon doing it who was better at them, I was really happy with it. I get my hair colored there regularly and cut every 5 weeks, and the prices are actually affordable! Great place. And if you want your hair styled for anything, ask for Tyrone!

I've moved up and down the Coast of California and finally settled here in lovely San Diego 6 years ago and I have been going to this salon since Everyone is very friendly. I've been to almost all of the stylists, but I usually go to Elias, the owner. I would reccomend this Salon to everyone.
