I was a single parent for many, many years and had difficulty with my older son who was 14 at the time. He was out of control, acting out at home, school and in the community. He father had abandoned him, and I was at a loss. After a lot of thought and guidance from therapists I decided to place him at Vista del Mar. They were absolutely wonderful, and in my opinion saved his life. I was very actively involved, even though his father refused. He was there for 2 years, had in-depth counseling, we had family counseling and I saw him every chance I could. His therapist Amy was terrific. He is now in his early 30's, has a wife and baby he adores, and most of this is thanks to Vista.

As I was struggling financially at the time, I was able to get funding for him to get the help he needed. Though it is a Jewish facility, the kids who live there do not have to be Jewish. If I ever have money, I want to make a large donation. They saved my son!

PROS: Fantastic facility, great therapists
CONS: None
