I looked at about 6 places, some in private homes. Lisa was the only person who knew what she was talking about. I immediately felt comfortable with her and her staff. The acclimation process was gradual which meant that each and every time I dropped him off he would wave goodby to me - no tears! - and each time I picked him up I found a happy child. Complete peace of mind. I would recommend whole heartedly.

My daughter has been going to Lisa's for 10 months now. She smiles when she sees the staff and enjoys playing with the other children. Lisa encouraged me to drop by any time and without advance notice when I was considering placing my daughter in her facility. I saw how the staff treat each other and the children they were caring for. This made me feel a lot more at ease. Only the staff open the door for anyone who arrives at the facility. Other places I saw allowed the children to greet anyone who came to the door. Each child has his own crib for nap times. They play nature sounds and keep the room dim for naps. The out door area is shaded for afternoon play outside. This is great since it gets very warm in the Valley. The facility is clean and well run. We are very happy with the level of care they offer and have recommended Lisa's to other parents looking for child care.

My son has been going to Lisa's since he was 7 months old. I agree with all the positive reviews posted here. The most impressive of all is the staff working at Lisa's. They are all like mothers to my baby. My son has become so close to them. Whenever we mention the teachers' names at home, my baby smiles before he was able to talk. That meant a lot to me.
Whenever my son has a 'bad day' or start pushing limits, Lisa and the teachers are always very patient and try to show him what is the right thing to do. He was never sent home just for misbehaving.
The care given at Lisa's is very personalized which we appreciate a lot. Lisa is willing to work with every individual child for their special needs and schedule. Overall, we are very happy about Lisa's daycare and would recommend it to everyone.

We have been at lisas for close to a year so far ...and i only have good things to share!! My son gets excited when we pull up..i take that as a good sign for sure. When I was transitioning my son to be there, I really loved how much care Lisa took to help the process. She uses her 30 years of experience to help you show the kids how to feel secure, and still be ready to leave mommy and daddy. She was also really helpful about my sons food allergies, and has very specific guidelines for all the kids to give individualized care.
Other facilities i went to were maybe more fancy, but they use a good facility for the amount of kids here I feel. It is nice that they all play together in one play room or large rec room, but i read other reviews who seemed to disagree. If there were 40 kids or something it may be chaotic, but there is never more than maybe 8-10 playing at a time in the same area when I have been there. The older kids do learn how to be gentle with the babies, I have seen the staff show them how!! I have also seen many times how the staff work together to switch off and make sure the babies are getting held enough and to help them feel safe when they wake up from their naps.
I have I spent a lot of time there while adjusting my little one, and i have a flexible schedule so I am able to stay a bit each time I drop off my son, so I feel I have a good sense of what goes on. For or being a daycare designed for infants and toddlers, I think it runs pretty smooth!! There was a review from Citysearch earlier..I seriously doubt they spent quality time at the facility...so many people just write reviews for money or to sway people to benefit other sites or facilities. I can tell the negative reviews here are fake, they are way too far off what i have seen.
Overall I have always felt really safe leaving my child there. I walked in to this facility after visiting 4 other places, and I knew right away by the attention to details this was my kind of place!!!

My husband and I were very relieved to come across Lisa??s this summer in our search for a quality, caring daycare for our infant daughter. We??ve spent many months doing a fair share of research, tours, and interviews in the valley before we made our decision, and were willing to go extra distances en route to either of our jobs if we found one we absolutely loved. Since starting Lisa??s at 4 months old, our daughter is doing very well and absolutely loves all the wonderful ladies that take care of her! Each morning she looks forward to our routine and is happy to get ready for ??school?. We always arrive with a warm welcome at the start of each day.

There are many reasons that made Lisa??s the best choice for us:

?Staff is attentive in how they care for and relate to our daughter and the other babies/toddlers. They are in tune with and sensitive to her physical, emotional, and developmental needs, and in their keen observations, are quick to note any changes.
?Staff is experienced and knowledgeable about infant and toddler care and development. Much of the staff has been employed at Lisa??s for a number of years, while Lisa has been in the business for over 30 years. This stability allows our daughter to create the attachments she needs to feel happy and comforted during the day while we??re at work.
?Staff maintains prompt and ongoing written and verbal communication. They are always ready to let us know how her day went, offer suggestions when we request them, and receive and follow important information and notes from us. We never feel like we have to make an appointment to share about our daughter.
?Strict illness policy. As viruses can be so easily transmitted in a school or daycare, we are happy Lisa enforces her policy for the health and well-being of our baby and everyone at the center. As a preventative measure, children are always taking precaution with proper hand washing, etc. Prompt communication with parents and proper care are always taken when a child becomes ill.
?Mixed-aged groups. We believe this is one of the reasons why our daughter is advanced in some of her milestones, as compared to some of her peers that attend other daycare settings. We appreciate her having special one-to-one time whenever she needs it; at the same time, we like that our daughter has the opportunity to develop her social skills and learn from the interactions of toddlers in her environment.
?Child-led schedule. Lisa and her staff allow the children to be children. At the center, she fosters a play-based culture that research proves to be the best natural learning environment for the growth and development of young children (NAEYC). Children??s play is facilitated and supervised by staff, and is never rigid or forced. Language and communication are always a part of play, and children??s activities reflect their interests.

We highly recommend Lisa??s to any family looking for a quality, caring, and safe childcare center. Lisa and her staff are super dedicated, knowledgeable, and friendly, and have become more like a second family to us!

We are so happy with Lisa that we recommended it to other friends who also love it! Our kids love the teachers and are so verbal that other parents are startled to find out the are only 19 months...

My daughter rarely been sick. I appreciate that they always let me know anything that is going on with the other kids. I was told to expect a lot of sick days with a daycare but have happy that weve only had to picknher up 2 or 3 times in over a year there.

The facilities are clean and there is ample space for the kids to run and play. My biggest confidence in Lisa's is the smile on my daughters face when I drop her off and when I pick her up!

My wife and I have taken for granted how great Lisa's is! It wasn't until we read the recent negative review that we felt we needed to add our experience to this website. We've had our son there for two years and absolutely LOVES it there. He loves the staff so much that he makes a point of saying goodbye to each teacher when we pick him up. They are very involved with each individual child that goes there. If a child has a specific need or a parent has a specific request, they happily do whatever it takes to make sure it's done. They give the kids enough room to develop their own personalities while also teaching them good lessons, like sharing, saying please and thank-you, and not using the word 'no', which is soooo appreciated!
As far as that comment about cleanliness, we have spent a fair amount of time there over the past two years and have never had any kind of issue....and I'm a germaphobe! Cockroaches!? I've never even seen a sign of one...ever.
If kids are sick, or showing signs of it, they check temperature and keep them away from the other kids while they call the parents, which is also appreciated. Also, they're so attentive, that if we're running later than normal to drop off my son, we usually receive a call to make sure everything is okay...That's pretty nice...;-)
We're always greeted by our very happy son at the end of the day and he's usually got some sort of arts and crafts project with him...(he loves to explain the process to us...soo cute..)
Anyway, We are completely satisfied with Lisa's and we're dreading the day he's too old to go there anymore! How are we going to explain it to him? We could have taken our son anywhere and we chose Lisa's and would do it again in a heartbeat and recommend them to anyone.
As a side note, our pediatrician is amazed at how verbally advanced he his for his age! We've had preschool teachers tell us that he speaks better than some of her kids...definitely something Lisa's has had a hand in!

Was not impressed, but switched when other more sought over facilities opened up.

The morning staff would leave me alone with the kids while running to get something from the kitchen or changing a diaper or rounding up the kids to the eating area.

Not much day structure as everybody has their own schedule and the younger require the most attention which means every other child is put on hold until the babies are taken care of, which defeats their "great ratio". The purpose of ratio is to ensure ALL children get the same attention. I peeked in and saw older kids tapping my child on the head or "testing" the boundaries without reprimand.

Also, the facility is in dire needs of renovation. The size and structures of the rooms are random. The eating area has no sunlight, and is bare and empty, which is where they put the kids to nap as well. The main room is better, but upon dropping my child to school witnessed a 3 inch roach inside and was thoroughly disgusted.

If you consider this place, definitely contact someone with a child currently in there (not someone w/o a kid in there) for true insight. Chances are, they had no other option.

Oh, and my child would get an ear infection at least once a month. All children would get frequent notes on our boxes regarding ear infections. And, they get sent home or hounded to give medication if they have one. My child had frequent diaper rashes, and one stomach virus contracted once every 3 months where Lisa's would send all children home and disinfect the place (a bit too late).

Also, it is interesting how the bad reviews disappear so often which defeats the purpose of reviews--to provide insight from actual people who use the services...not from the staff/owners/etc. There were lots of rebuttals referencing bad reviews, but interestingly enough they were deleted and replaced with better ones. Advice: go with your first instinct on this one. What's the first feeling you get when you walk into this place? Unfriendly, dirty, unorganized? Your child will be fed and not get in too much danger, but for this price, don't you want more?

I have had my son at Lisa's for 2 years, and he loves the staff which says it all. I looked at many daycares before picking this one for my baby. The things that set Lisa's apart from other daycares for me: 1) Lisa's lets the kid be on their own schedule and develop at their own pace, 2) they have a great outdoor play yard, a big play room and sleep rooms (so your child can be on their own schedule and sleep in peace), 3) they provide all diapers, food and wipes to make your life easier, 4) the safety precautions they take are excellent and 5) the staff was very warm and loving -- toward my baby and me. I highly recommend this daycare!!

My daughter loves Lisa's and that is most important to me. When I drop her off I know she's safe, well fed and happy. The staff seem to genuinely care for the children and it's clear the children love them. They really seem to cater to the individual needs of each child. They are excellent about communicating and keeping parents well informed. I can't say enough good things about Lisa's.

Our 8 month old daughter has been attending Lisa's full time since she was 3 months old. My husband and I, like most of the parents there, are first time parents and we did quite a bit of research about day cares.

Choosing a day care was a difficult process as I was on the verge of tears every time I talked to/visited a new place. It is a very important decision where our baby was going to stay if I could not be the one with her all day long. We had visited several day cares and researched more than I can count. We had not felt comfortable with any of them and knew we would not have felt comfortable leaving her all day.

Then we found Lisa's.

We could not be happier! When I went back to work, I felt so comfortable and was not worried for a second. They were so accommodating with my my breast milk. I have heard horror stories about day cares/providers that have wasted quite a bit of breast milk because they could not judge if the child was actually hungry or they spilled it, etc. My daughter was always well fed and loved. I love how much she interacts with the big kids.

The staff is great with her advancement and are very encouraging. They always ask me before they do anything new with her and respect my wishes for her. I love that they also let her be independent which is great for when I have her home at night, she does not just want to be held constantly. She can entertain herself which is wonderful. They love her so much and I can see how much she loves them. Again, another reassuring factor for me while at work.

If you are looking for a day care that truly cares for the well being of your child, you need to check this place out. I cannot say enough good things about Lisa's.

My daughter has been coming to Lisa's since she was 5 months old when I had to go back to work and she is about to turn 2. It is a wonderful, wonderful place that I recommend to anyone who will listen. All of the staff is incredible, with absolutely no turnover other than a few women who had babies of their own! The staff just adore the kids and it shows, and my daughter loves them back. The way I can get my daughter to the car in the mornings without a fight is to tell her that we're going to see Ratna or Lisa or Karen or Ruby. The younger babies learn from the older children, as my daughter was always more advanced than her peers at Gymboree or other play dates. Now that she's one of the "older" kids, she has learned how to behave around babies, which other parents always comment on. The facilities may not be ritzy, but they are clean and I love the nice outdoor play area with grass and shade, not some concrete slab with a tarp over it like other places. The food is healthy and wholesome. There is a very strict sick policy, but that is for the good of our kids - my pediatrician simply cannot believe that my daughter has been in daycare since 5 months old as she has only had one ear infection to date. Overall, I could not be happier with the care that she has received and though I miss her during the day, I NEVER worry about her. What more could you ask for??

I am a teacher at Lisa's and have been there for 8 years. Those 8 years have been some of the most amazing times in my life because I have gotten so attached to the babies and have come to love them. They bring me so much joy into my life, making me smile with their smiles, or making me laugh hysterically as I listen in on their silly conversations. The last 2 years I was in San Diego State attending college, yet I still came to visit Lisa's whenever I got a chance, which was usually every other weekends. I know the staff and I personally love the children and do our best to try to meet all their needs and make them happy and create an envrionment that they can consider their home away from home.

I do not know what the person below me is talking about because we have never left a parent with a child that is not theirs. We always make sure there is enough staff for our babies because we truly believe in excellent care, which is why Lisa has the ration at 4 to 1, even with the toddlers who are older than 2 years. We also do as much activity as we can with them, whether it is stickers, or drawing with markers, or chalk, or water play when it gets hot enough. However, it is a DAYCARE, not preschool or kindergarten, so we do not force our babies to sit and write out their alphabet or numbers. If they feel like drawing, we let them, but if they want to just go run around outside, then we don't stop them from doing that. Lisa's is truly an amazing daycare with a wonderful staff of women who will not only meet your children's needs, but also give them the love to make them always feel happy and safe.

This facility is not capable of caring for infants adequately. From personal experience and drop ins, the infants are left in their bouncers 95% of the day. The toddlers hover around the infants like it is one of their toys, and touch and endanger the infants. This facility is also not for working parents, and should only be used for part time care if any at all. The staff is nice, but not properly educated in child rearing and do not watch the staff. On more than several occasions, there was not a 4:1 ratio and the children were disorganized. There is a reason there is always space available.

Satisfactory. There seemed to be too many children when I went there, and the younger kids get the majority of the attention. Mixed blessing having a mix of ages--they can learn from each other, but also they are at different levels. Also, it seems like there is no structure, and the kids occupy themselves a majority of the time. This type of childcare is probably best for children that need minimal supervision and attention.

I love the 'drop in' policy. Lisa and her crew are honest people and aren't afraid that they will be found doing something questionable/wrong or illegal when I drop in unannounced. I read the news and some of those stories of other day cares just send shivers up my spine. There's only good things going on at Lisa's. My daughter is greeted by smiles and hugs from the same staff members every day. She loves them and they clearly love my daughter. They play outside, sing, paint, tell stories. They have real meals and snacks, not just Cheerios and Kool-aid as others do. Lisa is genuinely concerned for each child's health and safety. She has a strict policy on sick children, but it is to protect those who are well and help keep them well. Lisa has been in business for 23 years. She knows what she is doing. She gives love to the families in her care. She gives peace of mind to those of us who work. I am so grateful for her help and her ongoing contribution to the Valley.

We only have had our son in the daycare fulltime for a little over 2 months. Our son is 5 months old and we were very worried but had no choice. We looked around and stayed away from the larger ones since we wanted to have more personal feel for our son with the workers. It is too early to tell but so far we have been pleased. Everytime I or my wife have stopped by unexpected our son is taken care of and some of the workers clearly have bonded with him. It is a plus or negative though in regards to the amount of toddlers, I think our son loves the fact there are so many and they all interact with supervision around other infants.

The only negative is the facility. It could be better but we are looking for trust and good care over a brand new facility with horrible service. I would recommend this facility.

I can not express the wonderful care and attention the staff at Lisa's has given to my son over the past 6 months. Lisa was open-hearted and welcoming in nature, and worked with my son to make him feel as comfortable as possible in their facility. The routine throughout the day has served beneficial for my son, since the consistency allowed him to also develop a routine at home (i.e. to sit down when he eats his food). I would recommend Lisa's to any parent looking for a comfortable and warm enviornment for their child. My son asks for the staff members, and has development very positive and healthy relationships with them. If you are looking for a personalized and attentive daycare, Lisa's is the one for you.

As a first-time parent I was really nervous about placing my son into full-time daycare. I found out about Lisa??s through Child Care Resource Center. I wasn??t sure if a large child care center would be the right environment for my son, since he was previously cared for by my own mother in her own home. You can imagine what kind of odds Lisa??s was up against!

I asked a plethora of questions, followed up with more impromptu visits, and even when I was 90% sure Lisa??s was the right fit, I still had my mom come just to make sure. In fact, she played a key part in the gradual separation process, which took us about a week.

My son has been at Lisa??s for about eight months now and we??re confident that it was the best decision for our family. The staff at Lisa??s individually has strengths, but it??s their love for the children they care for that unites them as a whole. So in the end, I didn??t simply find a child care center for my son but rather a second family.

Like all normal families, this one isn't perfect. It's in their strive for perfection, however, that makes them so great. For more reviews from other satisfied parents of Lisa's, check out www.lisasbabies.com.

We have had both of our sons start at Lisa's and have had no complaints. The staff is great and they do a great job with the kids. We highly recommend this facility to anyone that asks about finding quality daycare in the area.

I read the previous reviews and, I have to say, I am appalled. That people can write false things that can hurt someone's business is just spiteful. My 8 month old daughter goes there and she has been going there since she was 2 months old. She has never been left in a swing all day. She loves the providers immensely. I also breastfed her there in the mornings and during my lunch hour until she was six months old and so I've seen the care first hand. These children are adored and are well cared for. Anyone who says otherwise is just bad. Seriously. I plan on keeping my daughter there until she's 3 because she deserves the best. In my opinion, Lisa's is the perfect environment for her.

I can't fathom why there are any negative comments about Lisa's. I have 2 kids (under the age of 4), and have had experience with 2 home-based day cares and a private day care/preschool. What's unique about Lisa's is that there is no t.v. playing all day (meaning that staff is actually interacting with kids, and kids are actively using their imaginations), that they have enough staff to accommodate kids' individual napping/feeding needs (no pre-set nap time, etc.), and that the facility they rent is large enough that kids have real room to play.Furthermore, staff is in constant communication with families to discuss any subtle changes occurring to schedules, mood, etc. and they all genuinely know the kids they care for. Kids aren't passed around...they feel comfortable enough with all the staff to feel secure with any of them. That's huge in my book.My husband and I both work in education, and we have high expectations for the care our kids receive. We are grateful that we found a loving and caring environment, with competent staff, in which our son can thrive. I'd recommend Lisa's to anyone seeking quality day care.

Our son has attended Lisa's for a couple of years. My wife and I have always been very pleased with the care and the amount of love he has received from the caretakers. They are gentle, caring and friendly and it shows with the way they interact with the children. As stated in a prior review, they have an open door policy so parents can drop in anytime to see how their child is doing.

After our 1st son's daycare closed, we, like most parents I'm sure, were very apprehensive about finding another place to take care of our 2nd son. We were very pleased with the care that our 1st son received and were not overly confident that we'd find a place that would provide the same level of care. Truth be told, he was also a very high maintenance baby and we were concerned that this would be an issue in finding him care.

Well, after an exhaustive search, we decided to try Lisa's. We liked the people and were impressed with the interaction that we saw between the caretakers and the children. To this day, we are still very pleased with our choice and now I can't imagine him being anywhere else.

I agree with Anonymous. This is a quality daycare. My daughter attended for 2 1/2 years and I have nothing but good things to say about it. Long term loving caretakers, open door policy so you can drop in anytime and spend time with your child, great hours, and fabulous people. Your child will be safe and well care for.

the review above is false. this is a high quality daycare. over the past 22 years over 550 happy satisfied families have felt secure in placing their babies here. they offer an open door policy, allowing persperctive parents to spend as much time as they like in the daycare BEFORE AND AFTER they decide which child care they want.long term staff members provide loving individualized care for their infants and toddlers. this center accepts children fron birth until their third birthday..they only accept 2 babies under 6 months at a time, and keep the 1 to 4 teacher-child ratio for all their children. this provides for plenty of hands to take care of each child.
