Reviews for Fred's Mexican Cafe

Ratings_icons Great for Happy Hour

Debra S.

Happy Hour 4-8 is great. Extra time to make it after working late. 1/2 off drinks and several specialty cocktails. 1/2 off tasty, fattening appetizers with VERY LARGE portions. Full house with a lively atmosphere. Fun way to end a hard day at work during the week.

PROS: Happy hour w/ great deals.
CONS:

A night on the town with some friends and we ended up here. The place was pretty busy and they had a fun dance floor. They played some really good music. The drinks were normally priced and there was a cover charge.

Moose's is an okay bar/club. It does get crowded but at least it is not poorly ventilated & full of unsavory people.

There happy hour is pretty good; from 4pm to 7pm.

PROS: Good club lay out
CONS: Crowded

Packed. Loud. Line to get in.
This either describes the hippest place in town or the nightmare that Moose's is. Maybe, in my mid-20's, I'm just too old; there seems to be some attraction here. I guess if you're into dealing with bouncers, paying covers and seeing second-rate bands, that's cool. But I stay away as there are SO many better places to hang out in Pasadena (2 are right next door!)

There is NOTHING to this place but high prices, not soo great food and not soo great customer service. For a Pasadena bar you would think there would be more to this place but unforunately there is not.

Fatty food, horrible service. All I can say is, go for the football games and order iced tea - they can't screw that up too badly and the glasses are big so you won't need a refill (not that you'd get one anyway).
