On The Border Mexican Grill

On the Border is a fun Mexican restaurant! It has a great atmosphere, delicious food, and good margaritas. The service is good and the prices are reasonable.

On The Border is a classical Mexican restaurant located very conveniently in Mission Valley. You feel like you are in old Mexico when you enter the doors. Excellent food and service. We go often.

I enjoy the food at On The Border in Mission Valley, however I have had several experiences where the waitstaff did not bring the food to the table. During one visit we placed our order and snacked on chips and drinks. At 3 different times the waitress told us that our order would "be right out" and that "they are putting it on the plate!". However over an hour went buy and we still did not get our food. We decided to leave, and the hostess said that she hoped we enjoyed our meal. I stated "You should bring the food before you ask people that." We walked out. A few months later we had a similar experience again! So while I do enjoy their food, it is too much of a hassle to actually be served. As a result I cannot recommend this restaurant.

PROS: Good food
CONS: Food is not brought to table.
