I would first like to start off by saying that this company has the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. I called back to make a complaint and never even received a call back. When we did get through, the girl we spoke to on the phone didn't even care. She was never even apologetic. The techinician that was sent out was actually very professional. He took care of us (even though he had to come back with the correct parts) We had the motor in our dishwasher replaced and after about a month and a half, the original problem was happening again. We called and they said we only had a 30 day warranty and that we would have to pay again. I would never recommend this service to anyone. Unfortunately we have to at least pick on star, but I wouldn't even give them negative credit!

Hello, I had to get on here and give my props to South Bay Appliance. We had another company out here in San Jose that said our LG refer could not be fixed, we called LG and they recommended South Bay Appliance, before they would take further action. South Bay Appliance came out and told us the sealed system was bad, LG had the part to them in 2 days, and in this hot weather we have our refer back. Our family highly recommends this company. My repair call was on 2/13 They didn't send the paperwork to the home warranty co. until 3/3. There wasn't follow up (requested many times) or anyone answering the phone during their lunch time. A month later, my oven is still not repaired, there are no answers, concern shown, or any hope of it ever being repaired. They don't seam willing to call the manufacturer to find out if the part on back order still exists. The oven is a panasonic, nothing unkown. They did not once tell me there would be a delay. I am responsible for preparing dinners for 70 people in the theatre this week and next....no concern or answers from South Bay Appliance. When calling to say that I found a part and request for repair follow up, Rose said they were very busy...what did I need since I had already called them 5 times today. (I called one or two times today.) They said they have to buy from their supplier and she made a few other rude remarks. Oh well...buyer beware!

My washer unit is not working properly so my extended warranty sends SBA out take a look at it 3 weeks later they still have not come out to look at it. When I call the office to ask about my work order the front desk girl is very rude and claims that she cannot find my order and to call my extended warranty people again. I let her know that I have been speaking with people in her company several times and that I KNOW there is a work order there for my appliance. She then transfers me to her boss. Which is another rude lady!! I let her know that her customer service is not the best and she threatens me on canceling my work order!

This company has been great for my family and I, had a bad experience with some LG appliances I purchased from Home Depot, could not get anywhere with them. I finally got a number to South Bay Appliance and they were very helpful, I had one appliance Home Depot tried to say was out of warranty, but South Bay Appliance took care of that as well. My family would recommend this company to anybody

I had an issue with my LG Refrigerator, I kept getting frost build up and didn't know what was going on. So, I called LG and they highly recommebed I call Southbay Appliance. I called to schedule an appointment on a Friday, the receptionist who was helping me asked if I wanted same day service. I couldn't do it unfortunatley, but I did get offered Saturday also so I took that. The technician came out diagnosed my refrigerator and told me he needed to order a part and it would take 3-5 business days from Monday. That Friday I got a call to come back out and finish the job. I wasn't available until that following Tuesday so we scheduled for then. The tech came out and finished my unit. It's been fine since! I highly recommend Southbay Appliance.

I am writing this review to let people know out there that this company is one of the best company's my husband and i have dealt with in a long time.We have had different service company's come but Southbay Appliance is far the best...We call our Home Warranty and had a emergency on a leaking Ref..The girl in the office had a tech out the same day..It was a Maytag Brand.The tech that came was GREAT and he even got the ref.to work for us well we waited for a part..We do understand at this time that Maytag and Whirlpool merg.and they are merging there warehouse and taking awhile to send parts.The office called at least twice a week to let us know they where still thinking of us and they would let us know right away when part in,and they did..It took Maytag around 4 weeks but Southbay let us know when it was in and came that same day and did the repair..They are a great company to work with.I know there are allot of people out there that cry when they do not get a part right away or do not here the answer they want..But that is not the service company fault always,But of course the cust.always wants to blame them first..We recommend this company to all,even if you do not have a warranty,The techs and the girls in the office are GREAT!!!

I have a home warranty with First American Home Buyers, they sent South Bay Appliance out to fix my referigerator. The freezer went out in this heat and the gentleman came out on emergency service and took care of the problem, I was very happy with the service and of course the gentleman did not get it done the first time out being he had to order the part which I understood. I purchased Home warranty from First American. My washer stopped rotating and when I called First American they assigned these people. They came 3 days to fix the washer, each time they changed some parts. When it did not fixed they are now asking me to setup another appointment, this is so frustrating hence I'm writing this review. For each appointment you have to stay at home for half a day. Moreover when you want to talk to them, the lady in the front desk would drop you several time and apologizes, very very unprofessional people. If your insurance assigned this contractors, say NO to them, period.

Our home warranty company sent SBA to fix a built-in microwave. On the first visit the guy says he needs to order a whole new unit. Then receive word that they'll have to replace the part, not the unit. Fine, but on the second visit, he breaks a whole new part. Oh, and SBA didn't call to let us know that the part takes at least a week to come in. Now we're stuck between our home warranty company and SBA, who is claiming that the part was already broken and if we don't want to fix it with duct tape, then it'll cost $200. When I tried calling SBA directly to speak with the owner, I was dealt with in a very unprofessional manner by a woman who hung up on me. We're still figuring out how to get our now two broken parts repaired, but do know that I will never allow SBA back into my home. Be warned!

Wanted to put my two cents in for this company. I had my washer go out , have 3 kids at home under 10 and we called home depot where we purchased the washer and got South Bay's number. they came out the next day and replaced what the tech called a coupler? anyhow, it was fixed and we were happy. I needed my dryer fixed for some time. I was hesitant to just call anyone to fix it, for fear of not being treated with honesty. I was very happy to find South Bay Appliance Repair! they were very knowledgeable and went above and beyond the call of duty. Tech was honest and competatively priced. I actually feel safer (as he spent time showing me how to get to all of the tricky places in my dryer to clean it out). I would call them again if I have an appliance that needs repair. Don

Called South Bay Appliance in early December for a repair on a hood. Said they were short staff due to a recent firing, but I didn't have a choice and had to wait due to a warranty contract... Week later, Lee shows up , girl friend in tow says this isn't his route, has a chip on his shoulder. After tinkering around for a bit says he'll have to order the part before he can do the repair. I questioned this since he hadn't taken the unit apart to see what was broken, but was dismissed. Lee left while I was in the restroom, without a goodbye, no card or any further info about returning. When I called the office to inquire about his return date I was told they call when the part arrives. Four weeks later, no call...I call them and am told they will not do the work, and when I ask why I am hung up on by Rose, office manager. So unprofessional, so rude, what a waste of time, don't call them if it can be avoided unless of course you like banging your head on the wall!

The ETA was between 10 and 1, and Abe arrived at 12. Our refrigerator was freezing everything we put in it, and Abe came out for the service call. He quickly diagnosed the problem, and put a new seal around the door, then messed with the thermostat. While he was doing these chores we had a fine chat. For me, the personality of the service person is important as well as his work. Abe is a great guy, and he cares about his customers. He was here for almost 45 minutes and worked constantly while visiting. Tonight we had jello that didn't have to be chopped with a knife before serving it. Thank you, Abe, and thank you South Bay! Your refrigerator problems will be resolved more quickly (and with less aggravation) if you drag it outside and set it on fire. Do this with extreme caution and only if you are professionally trained so as not to set yourself, your neighbors, nearby homes, structures, cars, children, pets, innocent bystanders, or other flora or fauna on fire. But otherwise, go for it: and it'll make you feel a whole lot better about the part of your life you wasted dealing with the nut jobs at South Bay Appliance.

i had a horrible experience with this company! i too was put on hold EVERY (of 10) times i called and the rude phone women forgot me twice! i finally demanded to speak to a manager and he was not at ALL apologetic about the lack of manners or the fact that i was stood up for a 4-7:00 pm window of service! i would NEVER use them again and will be calling our home warranty service, first american, to tell them to stop using them as well! 3 weeks and our dishwasher STILL isnt fixed!

We contacted South bay appliance for our refrigerator way back in August. They were prompt in visiting us but after that it has been a downhill experience. Very unprofessional, the wait times on the phone unbelievable. Very frustrating to deal with their folks. They blame the manufacturer for every thing. In our case the technician finds the parts faulty when he arrives at our place. Can't they verify the part before coming ? This has happened several time. They either blame the manufacturer or tell us about the goof up on the very day they have to come in and fix it. After several incidents, we called in the manufacturer and have formally registered a complaint against South bay. You can use your choicest superlatives to describe this company. Very miserable experience.

They either blame the manufacturer or tell us about the goof up on the very day they have to come in and fix it. After several incidents, we called in the manufacturer and have formally registered a complaint against South bay. You can use your choicest superlatives to describe this company. Very miserable experience.

This is the second time I've used them in the last few months, I only went back because it was so close in timing to the first problem I thought it might be a faulty part from before. I'm sad to say it's the same frustrations now as before. Almost impossible to get them on the phone - most of the time it rings and rings and then someone answers "HOLD", and there I sit for 45 minutes unless I hang up first. The wait before was longer then I was told, but this time is just ridiculous. I was told 3-5 days which would put the part coming in the Wednesday before Thanksgiving at the longest, well, Thanksgiving is long past and I'm still waiting. No calls to let me know the part is on back order and no time-line for when I might have my dishwasher back up and running. Speaking of running, if you're thinking of using South Bay Appliance you should run in the other direction. Those with good experiences must be relatives of the owner or EXTREMELY lucky people. Horrible experience - I won't go back for any reason, and I'll be contacting my dishwashers manufacturer about this very low level of service.

Through our homeowners warranty we got contracted to South Bay Appliances.
Their workman came out looked at the fridge and said he needed to order parts. When coming back to repair the fridge he made the problem worse than it was before (before the water dispenser didnt always shut off, now you can not turn it on). When calling them (which by the way is hard to do as they either do not pick up the phone or put you on hold - very unprofessional) the guy suggested I don't pay for the repair but for the (more expensive) repair of the repair. He finally agreed that he would repair it for free. We paid for the original repair (he took our credit card when ordering the parts), but since 6 weeks are waiting for him to come back. I called twice and their (as above unprofessional customer service) always claims its on backorder.
I would not contract this company if I had the choice.

I am waiting for my dish washer service. They came in verified and said that they need to order parts and it will take two weeks to do that. It is already three weeks and when I called first thing they did not answer calls properly. When I said I am washing dishes by hand, reply was that is the only way u have to do it. On top of it when I am asking the question, she said busy and put me on hold for 40 plus minutes. Then I asked them put it on paper and send me an email I got the reply saying they don't do that. Finally I am able to browse through internet to find their website and posting this message. I have very bad experiance with the customer serivice people.

This is the poorest service I never seen. A shame.

I had a tech come out here to look at my washing machine..Granted we knew what was wrong with it he said it would take 5 days for the part. We called back and were told he would work in between customers to put the part when they received it. Well they received it and now were told another week for him to come out and put the part in. To me this is unacceptable and I was told that if I didn't like it that they would just call up GE and tell them that I didn't want to have it fixed. No wonder GE dumped them................

I called South Bay to come and fix my dishwasher in early February of 2007. They scheduled an appointment and came out within a couple of weeks. They put the a part on order for the meile dishwasher. I made several follow up phone calls over the next three months only to be told the part had not arrived. Finally when it arrived, three months later,, the service man came out and then indicated he needed another part. That part was also put on order but scheduled to arrive within a couple of days. After another two weeks, I called again for another status only to be told that I would have to wait another week, for installation. That is a total of 4 1/2 months and it still is not fixed. Like others that have voiced a complaint, I also had to want 10 minutes before someone would be available to discuss them fixing my dishwasher. Totally dissatisfied with their service.

Horrible wait times 30min to hour in order to speak to anyone...customer service reps rude and extremely incompetent...asked to speak to a manger to discuss complaint and was denied...questionable instillation personnel....Just Google this company and you will find tons of complaints....BBB also has many filed complaints regarding this company...consumers be aware

This company sent a technician to my home over 2 weeks ago. The technician assessed the problem with the washing machine, collected my deductible, and I haven't heard from them since---despite phone messages, being placed on hold for 15 minutes at a time/per call, any hour of the day, and a request for the Home Warranty Company to attain a report (apparantly, the technician never filed one). You don't want these kinds of hassles---choose another company!

I would like to include my experience regarding South Bay Appliance. I am an insulin dependant diabetic and my refrigerator stopped working. I phoned several appliance service businesses and was unable to get "same day service" as they advertised. When I phoned South Bay Appliance, I was greeted with a friendly receptionist who was also compassionate about my immediate situation. The technician, Abel, was able to come out the same day and fixed my refrigerator on the spot. They made what could have been a very bad situation, ok.
