I loved visiting the shop this past February, right after you moved. Staff were very friendly and I bought some penquin fabric and a kit and pattern. I'm from Akron, Ohio and try to visit quilt shops when out of town.

This wonderful local quilt shop has lots of quality fabrics. The staff is very friendly and always ready to provide help. The store has quilt fun classes.

Another great local quilt shop. This one has been open for about two years, although the owner has a lot of previous experience working in quilt shops. There are rows and rows and rows of high quality fabrics, at the generally going rate for retail or sometimes a bit less expensive. The owner (who is local to the area) recently purchased a medium-arm quilting machine and rents out time on it, which is a great tool for getting those quilt tops finished into actual quilts. There's always something going on here; there's an extensive class list. She sells knitting supplies and has some knitting classes too, although these are more limited than the quilting materials. There are tables to sew at, and customers are welcome to come and sew. The staff is friendly and always willing to "consult" on fabric selections and block placement. You can spend a lot of time at this store. The store is in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking (and an IHOP, a Subway, and a MacDonald's to send the kids to while you check out the fabric!).
PROS: Good selection, friendly owner and staff.

Patchwork Penguin has a great selection of high quality cotton fabrics, plus quilt, sewing, & knitting supplies. Classes are offered on quilting, knitting, crocheting, purse making etc. Every week there is a 'fabric of the week' offered at 'buy one yard get one yard free". Other discounts include ongoing discount of Flat folds for $5.00 a yard and a discount card for multiple purchases. The staff is friendly and helpful. The owner is a great supporter of Linus and the Glendale Quilt Guild.
