2 Stars: This place very badly needs a makeover. (by Tanya E.)

I stayed here with my husband and our dog on a weekend, just to get away from the norm. I think it was around $500 a night, and the sheets weren't even Egyptian cotton. Boring and old fashioned! This place very badly needs a makeover.

Oh, and the buffet was a bit of a bomb too. Uninspired and the sushi was nowhere near fresh.

4 Stars: Fantastic Rooms, Fantastic Views (by Kristine M.)

I stayed here because I was a vendor at a convention being held at the hotel. The rooms are crisp and clean with fluffy white down comforters and lots of pillows. We had a "city view" room on the 33rd floor and we could see the bay, both bridges, and union square. The location is awesome, right down in the middle of everything and close to the Powell street trolley stop, and San Francisco Centre mall. I highly recommend staying here. The only con is that I have experienced a more outgoing hotel staff at hotel chains such as Doubletree, Hyatt, and Hilton. The staff here is a little reluctant to go out of their way unless you ask. But overall, this is an excellent hotel.

4 Stars: Location, Location, Location (by Joy H.)

When you stay in San Francisco it's all about location. This hotel is in the perfect spot. Within walking distance of great shopping, fine restaurants and the cable car. Great rooms at a reasonable price.

5 Stars: Charming (by Jessica L.)

The Westin is a great hotel to stay in if you're in the city. Right in the middle of everything, you can easily get to Union square, the San Francisco shopping center, and great restaurants. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the concierge was helpful at recommending things to do in the city.

5 Stars: art deco top class hotel near convention center (by P J.)

Right when you walk into the Argent you are impressed with the cool art deco style. The rooms have floor to ceiling windows that really show off the skyline of SF. The argent is right down town - very close to the MOMA and convention center.

PROS: great location and views
CONS:

5 Stars: Incredible rooms, gorgeous! (by Stephanie G.)

The Argent hotel is a huge hotel in San Francisco, I believe near downtown.

It's a great location, you walk out the door and take a left and there's nothing but shopping, restaurants, etc. A 7-11 is just around the corner for late night munchies, as is a Del Taco.

The rooms are great, huge, and wonderfully appointed. The beds are comfortable, and depending on how high a floor you're staying on, you get an incredible view.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. The lobby is a bit confusing if looking for the stairs or elevator. I never found the stairs.

PROS: Gorgeous, great location, great staff, affordable for the quality
CONS: They DO have stairs somewhere, right?
