I also work next to Cafe Chez Marie and have always been very pleased with both the food and service. The owner of the restaurant is very friendly and makes a point to greet all customers and get to know them personally. The food is always delicious irrespective if I order off the menu or something more customized. I have never had a problem of getting exactly what I ordered and the entire staff is very accommodating. The food and drinks (the best lattes!) is very authentic and reminds me of when I was in Paris. Many of my coworkers also feel the same. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Firstly, let me say that I work next to Cafe Chez Marie. I've had their catered food when my company has ordered from them in the past. Note that my company no longer patrons Caf Chez Marie. I have also ordered from them for take out as an individual on occasion when I was desperate enough.

The primary thing you should probably be aware of is the pricepoint. For a simple breakfast of eggs and bacon and toast and coffee with perhaps a side of fruit, expect to pay upwards of $20. You'd think for this price, the food would at least be SPECTACULAR. Hmmm, not so much. The food isn't horrible. It's just very..... ordinary. And as the other reviewer pointed out, you can expect the food to be cold. This is due in part to their understaffed kitchen and the lone server working the entire restaurant.

While the restaurant has some lovely outdoor seating and cutesy cottage decor, the customer service from the owner is so horrible, I wouldn't go back there if the food were free (or made better than ordinary). As a regular customer of Caf Chez Marie, I was notified today by Marie, the owner, that they could no longer honor my side substitution. I happen to be fatally allergic to fruit. I requested that she keep the avocado and keep the salsa and keep the side salad of fruit. And all I asked for is a slice of wheat toast as a substitute for those three items. She gave me quite a lengthy speech about how long she's been in business and I would run her "down the drain" with this one substitution. She said that the avocado was a "complement to the food" and essentially she was insulted by my not wanting the fruit. The fruit which I am fatally allergic to (I even showed her my Epi-pen)! She notified me that in the future, she will oblige my "demand" for her to without the avocado, salsa and side of fruit, but will have to charge me $3.50 for a slice of toast.

Suffice it to say, she will never see me again. McDonalds in right down the street and I will probably get better customer service from the disgruntled workers there.

It doesn't take much to make me happy. And I've never written a bad review of a place before. But Marie has a lot to learn about running a business besides jacking up the price of her food.

This is a wonderful place to go for a romantic dinner for 2. My husband and I love the appetizers and the desserts the best. Of course, we also enjoy the entrees! The service is the best! They have valet parking, so it's easy to access the restaurant. The waiters are very professional. Service and food are first rate!

PROS: Great food and service
CONS: A bit pricey
