5 Stars: Mexican Breakfast! (by neil d.)

Perrys is one of the best cafe's in San Diego. The thing I love most is that they serve any kind of breakfast you can imagine including Mexican. The pancakes are awesome. Just go Perrys!

4 Stars: Family style (by walker s.)

Perry's Cafe is more line a 70s diner or a greasy truck-stop breakfast place. It has a large parking lot next to the I5/I8 freeway interchange or more like under the freeways. You have to know where to look; it's not your "easy on - easy off" kind of place.

But the tasty good food draws truckers and tourists into a "sit-down". Delicious food but if you are health-conscious best go somewhere else. The price is inexpensive - $6 a person is about right. Lunch is a menu of sandwiches, Mexican dishes and salads. Perry's is consistently voted "best diner" in San Diego. Perry's is kind of old fashioned with a decor of 70s brown/green. The great staff calls you "hon" as they move all those plates balanced on both arms. Who needs Hash House A Go Go when you have Perry's?

4 Stars: Amazing short order cooks (by M A.)

This place has amazing short order cooks - they are a wonder to watch. I must have spent ten minutes just watching these guys in action - they are machines!

If you are into the standard American farmer's breakfast (with some Mexican options), this is the place to go. Fast service and relatively inexpensive. The decor is quite old but that is part of the charm of Perry's - they've been around forever. From what I hear, Perry's is a true San Diego landmark.

PROS: Inexpensive and tasty
CONS: You will probably get a heart attack if you eat here often

5 Stars: Whether you're a trucker or just Joe Shmoe, you'll love Perry's Cafe (by Melissa M.)

Open until 2 daily, Perry's Cafe is always crowded so I suggest sitting at the bar. The food is world class and so is the staff. In the 12 years that I have lived in San Diego, most of these men and women have been serving at Perry's. Check out the nearly 7 foot tall chef! Everything on the menu is perfect. My two personal favorite dishes are the Machaca Con Huevos Plate and the Cheese Enchilada Plate. So good! I want to go there now!

PROS: Everything
CONS:
