If you want decent Chinese food in town try Asia Garden, I would recommend the Terriacki chicken it is delicious. The place is a little dingy looking, but the food is fresh and good.

Well, Porterville is a small town...without many choices for fine dining. The locals told me that Asia Garden is the best of the six Chinese Restaurants in town. It was okay.
The food was reasonably well-prepared and fresh. The ambience is a little dingy, but efficient. {Asia Garden is on a main road in a converted fast food restaurant.) Our server was very efficient and sweet--though a little hurried. The price was reasonable at $10 per person, including tip.
This isn't a place I would try to come back to...but it was a reasonable meal.
