El Salvador Pupuseria Y Rest

This place was introduced to me by a friend. Its conveniently located right off the I-15. This restaurant serves great Salvadorean dishes. I personally got hooked on the pupusas. They are reasonably priced. Very clean and great service.

Picture in your head the best quesadilla you've ever eaten... Now picture it getting it's butt kicked by a pupusa. That is how my friend descried a pupusa. As a San Francisco (Mission District) native, I was exposed to many Pupuserias, so I am very spoiled to have eaten the best pupusas (a stuffed hand-made tortilla from El Salvador) in California. Yet El Salvador Pupuseria have probably the best pupusas I have eaten here in San Diego! The filling is evenly spread and also generous. Besides pupusas, El Salvador Pupuseria also sell Salvadorean tamales (sweeter than Mexican tamales), their specialty chicken, which is very delicious, and chicharon con yucca ( fried pork and fried casava fries)!
