When I requested to check out this property, my realtor warned me that this place is a dump, I ignored her warning and let the location to totally take over my head, now I am totally regretting not listening to my realtor and can't wait to get out of here !!!
First of all, this place is a REALLY old building. A building could be old but still standing up strong with a good upkeeping of the building structure, and this is not the case with this property. Water comes inside your unit when it rains, ceiling cracks, floor cracks, upstairs drainage constantly get clogged up eventhough we constantly pour acid down the drain and use a wire mesh on the floor drain to catch hairs and other stuff that might flow down the drainage, ceiling leaks, toilet doesn't work twice in a year time. Besides, the underground parking structure is constantly wet with water, don't ask me how does it happen because my question is just as good as yours. While they don't have any elevator here in the building, we have to juggle to carry everything in our hands to bring them upstairs, and imagine while you are juggling bags and bags full of 1 week worth of groceries but still have to watch out for the water in the parking lot, it is definitely not fun but annoying.
Now comes to the tenants here. While people might think this would be a fun place to live due to it's premium location, WRONG !! This place is totally opposite from what it seems to be. The majority of the tenants here are older people or retirees that started to own their properties since a very long time ago while properties are still very cheap to own, so as properties prices sky rocketing over the years, these older people/retirees either couldn't afford to move away or don't wanna give up on this piece of property that worth a lot nowadays, so they became extremely attached to their property. Their attachement to their property have became an obsession (plus they are retirees that they don't have anything else to do in their life but to poke their nose in other people's lives) that they are keeping a watchful eyes on each other businesses. They complaint about every single little things and whine and talk about everything that each other is doing. So if you wanna live in somewhere that you can call it your home and feel like home, this is not the place for you because when you live here, you definitley won't be able to feel like home but to feel as if you were living in an assisted living home that your business is everybody else's business. And yes, your nosy neighbors will be so nosy that they can even call out the times that you leave or come back to your unit or the usual activities that your family is doing on the weekend. I am extremely annoyed about being watched like this, and if you won't like to live being watched even when you are at your own home, then STAY AWAY FROM THIS SEEMINGLY ASSISTED LIVING HOME !!!
