We try a lot of different restaurants--Mexican or Greek one week, sushi or steakhouse the next--but Three Sisters is one place we always go back to. The food is among the best Mexican food we've found, and with rare exceptions the service

i went there yesterday and wow ive never seen a restaurant in such disarray.it took over a half hour to get the drinks.then the waitress was so rude.the food only half the order came in good time the other half was like 10 min later so my husband was done before i got mine.which was the fajita mix. both agree not worth the money .i mean even not enough tortillas.then there was an issue with the ticket and they got the owner.she is such a rude unintelligent woman.as rude as her employees and they was bad i can live with 1 or 2 mistakes but this place really deserves less than one star i wish there was negative stars because they deserve it.honestly taco bell is much better and cheaper and there you will not leave hungry .

I have been going to this restaurant for years and have never had a bad meal or experience. It is clean, nicely decorated, and the owners are the friendliest people I've met in a restaurant. I love having lunch. I'm in and out quickly. I've brought friends and co-workers and all have enjoyed and raved about the place. I have zero complaints and hope they are around for years to come!

Pros: Friendly staff, wonderful fresh food, best salsa/chips

Cons: None

My husband and I have been here a few times but this past Friday was the worst experience. I realize it was 6:30 on a Friday night but they just seem to be so understaffed. We were seated and waited like 10 minutes before we were brought chips and water, no salsa and she didn't take our drink order. Then another 10 minutes later someone came with salsa and took our drink order, and we didn't even order anything from the bar! A lemonade and an iced tea. Then About 15 minutes later someone else came by and took our food order and we didn't see her again for about half an hour when she came back and asked what we had ordered! She obviously had lost our order or didn't place it. I seriously sat and watched people come in after us, be seated, order, eat and leave before we got our meal. The food is delicious, don't get me wrong, but they really need some better management and more waitstaff. I think there were three waitresses serving a packed house and bar and half of the patio was full as well. The part that irritated me was that they were unapologetic for our food mix up.

This is owned and operated by the same people that operate Tres Hermanas in downtown Sac. The food is reliable and good. I was there at 12:30pm (lunch rush) on a Friday afternoon and they only had one waitress serving the entire restaurant so getting a refill on the drink and chips just never happened. One other complaint - I need my Tapatio or other hot sauce - the salsa just doesn't do it - and they don't have it there. All in all though a pretty decent meal.

My husband and I moved to Sacramento from Roseville one year ago. We've been to Three Sisters many times. We especially enjoy dining outside and have brought our baby granddaughter. We often see families enjoying Sacramento's wonderful warm evenings. Service has been excellent every time and we love the food. My favorite is the carne asada while my husband likes the shrimp dishes. I'm surprised at the freshness of the tomatoes even in winter. After living in Roseville (chain restaurant heaven), we appreciate the individuality of this restaurant.

I think the first thing to remember is this is SOUTHWESTERN Cuisine not MEXICAN FOOD. I had my first visit and can't wait to go back again! I found the food to be exciting in flavor and loved the deviation from refried beans and red rice!! The variety of sauces that are offered is a tremendous plus as well. This is not your ordinary mexican food folks!!!

we went for dinner and were surprised at the high prices...food was okay but not worth the price. the menu was also a little different than what you would expect from a typical mexican restaurant. friendly service but the overpriced and unimpressive food was a letdown...next time we will look at a menu first!

If anyone thinks this is a Mexican Restraurant they are mistaken. This is Southwest cooking at its best. This is not the "Campbells" tomato soup sauce that so many in this area seem to enjoy. The service is great, the food is spicy--not for the mild palate people. You won't find better SW food outside of New Mexico. And for those of you who panned this place, stay away, go someplace else and eat your tomato soup.

The average cost per plate is around 13 dollars or more, yet the ambience of the Restraunt would have you think it was a budget (more down to earth) type of establishment. The service was slow and not very good. I ordered the tamales, which would have been good if they weren't drenched in some weird cream sauce. The rice that came along with the meal was bland, the beans were ok.

Will not go back.

Three sisters has become a regular treat for me and my wife. The service is very prompt and friendly. They always remember us and have been very helpful. The chipotle and mole sauces are the best I've found. The chicken chipotle and chicken mole poblano are out-of-this-world good. Margaritas are tasty too. This is a great place to bring kids and the outdoor seating is very nice during the summer.

My friends and I sat around for over a half hour without anyone even taking our DRINK ORDER. Staff was not even remotely apologetic. Food is okay, certainly nothing special. I am not uptight about restaurants/service, but the staff here was horrendous. I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone.
