Hi, this is Erick Johnson of Central California Spas & Home resort Products, Kern and San Luis Obispo Counties, Cal Spa dealer. We have not gone out of business, we simply relocated from 2700 Auto Mall Dr. to 3001 Auto Mall Dr. The phone number is the same, 661-396-0811. We had to downsize due to the economy. We, like many business, experienced an unbelievable growth during the housing boom in 2005-2006 - so much so, that our sales doubled to 650 a yr. Unfortunately, we were unprepared for that kind of volume and the service end suffered. Now that it has slowed down, we have been able to and are currently taking care of all past problems. If you are a customer that may have an unresolved problem, please call us immediately. It is highly unlikely that spas will ever return to the glory of those years, but if it comes anywhere close, we will be prepared this time. Erick Johnson Central Cal Spas
I bought a cal-spa in march of this year and love it. My husband and I
shopped around for months before purchasing, comparing quality and
cost. We have had to get service once and the service lady was there
2 days after we called. We use our spa daily for therapeutic reasons, and love it!

A few years ago I replaced my old spa of 13 years (not a cal-spa) with a new cal-spa unit. We paid cash and a couple of weeks later bought the umbrella that stands next to the tub. Everything was great for almost a year and then a pump went. They were going to send a service guy out. Well after a month or so he finally showed up, charged me $65 and told me I needed a new pump but they didn't have one so he would order it. Why he didn't bring one out with him I do not know. They know the make, model etc and it is a 47 mile drive to my house. I also work in the bay area all week and the only time I am home is from Friday evening until Sunday evening. I have a lady that tends to my animals and property while I am away so she tries to be here when needed. But cal-spas never returns calls. So I finally got in touch with someone and asked about the pump, still didn't have one. I waited another month and still no pump. I started calling every week and finally the service guy brought one out, and it was a bad pump. I started calling every week, then every day, and then started making the 100 mile round trip to the store whenever I came home. In the meantime there was a crack. They sent a Lady out to repair it and she put some hard stuff on the crack that is very rough and you can still see the crack, then left some sandpaper and told my housekeeper that we should sand it. Well it's still there like a big wart and the service call was $125. It took just under a year before the pump was finally replaced and I could use the spa again. Then another leak started and I discovered another crack in the shell, as well as jets that are faulty. The rep at the store told me to take it to the store and they would give me another one. I can't remove it and would hate to see another crack started. I called the lady who "fixed" the first crack as well as cal-spas numerous times and left many messages and have yet to hear from them. Last month I wrote to the Better Business Bureau and I am going to make the 100 mile round trip every day I see there is a home show because I know that they will be there. I will be there also to make sure that people know what to expect from this business. The sad thing is that I shopped around for weeks before I decided what spa to purchase. Wish I would have gone with my second choice across town. Another quick note. My nephew is a licensed electrician and he was hired to wire up a new cal-spa for someone and after it was delivered they discovered that it had no pump!

I was looking for a spa a few years back and stopped by Cal Spas. My sister joined me and not once were we acknowledged while in store. We stayed for about 30 min to see if people arriving after us were ignored. The people we saw arrive were greeted and were provided with info. Definitely not impressed with this business.

We bought a spa a few years ago from the home and garden show. Thought we purchased a great deal..IT WAS UNTIL something goes wrong. The customer service from TIM is HORRIBLE. He really needs to go to school to learn manners and how to have respect for his customers. I have had an apt for 3 times now, once the man showed up, but the problem continued. So we called once again to have him to come out, the day before Cal Spa called and cancelled til the next day.So therefore, my daughter took off work he was suppose to be there between 8-12. Well at 2 I phoned Cal Spa and TIM told me that his tech hadn't been returning his calls he would phone me as soon as he hears from him. At 530 still no phone call and no tech, I phoned and learned that their tech had a family emergency, and he WOULDN'T be out today. WELL DUH! It was almost 6 o clock. He told me someone would call me the next morning. At 1130 I phoned once again, TIM answered and said that he was waiting for the tech to come in, then he said "HE JUST WALKED IN, I WILL HAVE HIM TO PHONE YOU AFTER WE GO OVER HIS SCHEDULE"..well, THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN. I called once again at 4 and TIM told me that HE NEVER said that his tech was there, he said that he had a customer..(whatever) I blew it off til I talk to the female in the parts, which TIM said was sick on Friday, later found out she was at their other store out of town, and she phoned me on Saturday PROMISING me that their tech would be at my house at 1 on Sunday. I told her I had things to do is she sure he would show, she said HE WOULD, or SHE WOULD..Needles to say we sat home on a SUNDAY waiting for him, we left at 2 and he finally called my home at 215 but we were gone. When I phoned Monday to talk to the female, My good Ole BUDDY TIM answered and was as RUDE as EVER, and I proceeded to tell him what took place, since the female isn't there until late afternoon, and his reply to me was" WELL, HE WAS A LIL BEHIND" I told him a phone call would of been nice...and I told him I didn't want to deal with him..he told me that, that was a good idea! I WOULD NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THAT COMPANY EVER AGAIN..I will be going to the BBB tomorrow and file a complaint. Heck, maybe I should call EYE OUT FOR YOU NEWS and see how many more dissatisfied customers are out there and let the public know what they are getting into before they do..

I owned a CalSpa and I was happy to because I didn't know any better. Recently I bought a new spa because it was impossible to get any service from CalSpa. The more I talked to people about my precarious situation the more I heard "Any one who buys a CalSpa will never buy another" not because they are that good because they are that bad. If their product service and customer service does not improve I do not forsee them being in business much longer. A Concerned Consumer

I had a friend who wanted a new swimming pool and spa. She went here and I went with her. I personally was amazed with their selection, it was amazing. They had so many choices I couldnt believe it. The guy that helped us was great to and knew a lot about what we were wanting to know.
