We went for lunch and it was delicious. The chips and salsa were really good and the service was excellent. It was crowded but it did not take long for us to be seated. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly and the prices were affordable.

I believe this restaurant has gone downhill after a spree of hiring. The last time I went the server was so slow and confused!! it took over 40 minutes for us to get service (AT LUNCH!) This server took orders from people who sat down AFTER us before coming over to us. He gave the people who sat down after us their food first, and even got that wrong, so he had to take it back. He then came back and asked us what meat we wanted in our dishes AGAIN after the original order When the food came, our food was wrong, and the meat was wrong, even after him specifying it TWICE!, and there was a stick in my food. Not a spice, an acutal GRILLED stick. I was appalled. I've been a regular there for YEARS. Not anymore!

Good date spot and hangout. I really like there tortas (steak sandwhich). They have a good bar and drinks. The staff is quick and attentive as well. It's also a good date spot.

PROS: good tortas
CONS: none

While the ambience is not the best the food makes up for it. They have great lunch specials, with quick service. Waitress's were very friendly and efficient. The food is always consistent in quality. Great chips and salsa too!

This is the classicly Mexican of the three Vallejos and the only one I recommend. The decor is Mexican. If you order in Spanish the service is unparallelled. There are daily specials; the portions are generous and look great on the steaming plates. We often go there on Sunday morning after church. Their morning specials are--well--special. Great hours, great food, great service--and my wife says some of the best margaritas in town. Sometimes it is crowded because families gather there for special ocassions. Don't even consider going there for the tremendous Cinco de Mayo doings without a reservation. Great Music. Yes, they do have mondongo! They have an outdoor patio, too!

Pros: Mexican, expansive menu, parking

Cons: can be crowded, a family place, Spanish works best
