Let's start w/the wait. I brought my cat who sits calmly in a carrier bag even after the hour long wait and a room full of dogs. After a 3 minute check by a nurse the Dr came in and after ""feeling my cat up"" suggested a tumor or blockage in the intestine. Without even an xray the Vet then rattled off fees up to $5000 and asked me how far I was willing to go... To which I answered, "" right back out the front door."" Ridiculous. For that amount I would've taken my cat to Vegas and had a magician tell me what was ailing her. The only way my cat would've received better care is if she had a magnetic strip attached to her tail that was connected to my debit account.

A disgusting and unfriendly staff - truly hated my experience and walked out. \n\nThey explained a price over the phone and then a rather rude office manager came in with an invoice for over double the initial quote.\n\nHer attitude was beyond frustrating - there is a reason this place has two stars.\n

I am really stunned by all the bad reviews. I have been taking my two kitty thier since I got them from a shelter. They have always been super nice and caring and Dr. Heibert is great. One of my cats got very sick and had to be hospitalized, they worked with my on the bill and even got the maker of the vacine to cover some of the cost. They are a bit expensive, but I have never had to pay before they would see my pet. It is like $120 for an after hours emergancy visit...and they go through the costs...before they do additonal treatments.

Maybe these other reviews are slanted becuase people lost thier pets. I would check TLC out for my self.

My dog got punched in the face by a raccoon on our fence and fell back on tail. She couldn't get comfortable, kept pacing but every time she laid down she'd whimper a little when she bumped tail. I brought her in to TLC, the vet could feel it was badly sprained, not broken. Needless to say my dog was muzzled. Was in and out of there in 25 minutes with pain pills and Rimadyl and, although I don't remember what I paid, it was not enough to gasp about. Will definitely go there again in an emergency.\nFor all of you who need animals put to sleep, call 911VETS, and they come right to your house and do it. Have used Dr. Weinberg in the West Hollywood area and every time he has been there within a few hours. Kind, gentle and please don't stress out your animal anymore by bringing them to a strange, cold, sterile vet's office. Don't we all want to die in our own bed?

My girls just went to heaven in November. TLC tried valiantly to keep one of them going even though her kidneys were failing. We are talking about large dogs who were about 19 and 20 years old. It was their time and we tried everything.\n\nI have been taking the girls to TLC for about 11 years. They were kind, helpful and the staff knew the girls and did everything they could. I will continue to take our cats there and trust the doctors Mahaney, Hebert, and Baker with their care.

Pros: Very loving and caring of elderly pets

Cons: Can be expensive but in line with other vets

My partner and I came here in tears with our beloved 14 year old cat on his deathbed. His health had been failing, and expensive treatments could no longer keep him alive. Not being able to bear seeing him suffer any longer, we brought him to the hospital expecting him to be put humanely to sleep. Instead, they gave us a $500 estimate (for starters) on his treatment. It was obvious to us, knowing and loving him so much, that he was no longer even the same cat, and that his life was at the end. But we listened and went home with a large series of medicines and daily injections. After ariving home, we could see that he was getting worse and could not even take the medicines, or eat or drink. We waited a few hours, to see if he improved. All he could do was cry and stumble around the house from one place to another, and then lie there with his eyes staring and cloudy. I called the clinic back, and told them what was happening. They insisted on hospitalization at a minimun cost of $800, and ignored by plea to have him put down. It was too much to take, so we called our old vet in Silverlake and drove an hour in rush hour traffic to have him put to sleep. He died in my partner's arms on the way. Neither of us had ever experienced such a heart wrenching experience in our lives. There was no reason other than greed to put our sweet companion or us through so much pain.

Dr. Monica Revel is practicing here a few days each week, and she is FANTASTIC! A lovely, intelligent, and caring Vet and HUMANE being. A Davis educated Vet, and in the Vet world that is like going to John's Hopkins or Georgetown. If you can see her, come here, or if it is an emergency ask if she is on that day. It is West Hollywood, so depending on who is on the front desk, be prepared for West Hollywood prices and attitude. I have found that if I come in and there is someone who knows me I get better service than if it is someone I do not know. I have found that Nicole and Steve are real sweeties, but you have to treat people civilly. Remember they are people too, and they see the most stressful and distressful things day in and day out. The staff I know are animal lovers. Yes, one knows in an emergency that people act without thinking, but if you can be nice, they will treat you well.\tPerhaps it is because I am a long time client, but when my kitty was dying last year of FIP and he was having seizures, they whisked me right in a room, and everyone was so caring and sweet during his death and during the aftermath of his death. Albeit, everyone knew my kitty and loved him there. The waiting room was PACKED that day and I waited all of two minutes for a room. Perhaps it depends on who is on that day or night, or just the chemistry of the situation. However, I will say that before we followed Dr. Revel here from VCA Bev Hills, we avoided this hospital because of a bad experience here from years before. The ONLY reason we come here is because Dr. Revel is here, if she moves, we move with her. If I won the Mega Millions tomorrow I would build her a Veterinary Hospital all for herself. I would also suggest that all pet owners to do what I do, either get a basic emergency pet insurance through the Humane Society, a CareCredit card for vet bills, or put aside a minimum of 5K for pet emergencies, because veterinary care is expensive and they want to be paid up front. However, so do my human doctors.\tI am so sorry for the people who had bad experiences, but as I said, if you can get Dr. Revel, go here, if not, well I'd think of going elsewhere. On a side note, if you are there for a routine exam, you sometimes see the most interesting people in the waiting room, and it is neat to see what kind of pets they have.

Cons: It can be expensive, and you need to be civil to the staff

Expensive and crowded, but welcoming of APBTs. They provided standard vaccinations, but prescribed an antibiotic for a hot spot without asking us first. Unfortunately, they are also not good in an emergency. When our dog had unexplained bleeding it took the staff hours to see her and address the issue - they left her bleeding in the waiting room - and eventually we were sent to another animal hospital.

I have written about this establishement on other sites, and yesterday my sister discovered City search. so many complaints and they are identical to mine. It made me sad I had not read these reviews before taking my jack russell to them 2months ago. He was bit by a snake in the canyon. I rushed to go to sepulveda with his little brother bosco at our side, frankies head was swollen. I passed TLC and thought , great, so close, WRONG. i rushed in, they took frankie to the back. i waited, I waited, aprox 45 mins. finally they took me to small room Iwaited another 30 mins. Dr. H comes in, very uptight. he proceeds to tell me about my dog. Itry to ask questions and he ssshs me . arrogant man. i go back to see my dog, its painful to see him, after another 30 mins i walk to the front desk, I am tackled by two workers OK WE NEED $3400 DOLLARS.. what?? I mean they act like thugs, I say umm, what, WE NEED THIS NOW, I say I can give $1500 . no, we need full amount. they go to doctor, he oks $1500 but bal must be in by 10am . The amt is so high, its crazy, i am so upset by dog. and not this. they call that night for me to authorize another $300 charge at 1am, I say ok. I read reviews the next day since this seems so odd, so many people, the same story as mine. I tell the woman i am taking my dog, NO YOU CANT TAKE YOUR DOG, I say yes, I CAN TAKE MY DOG. I write a letter to the doctors, tellng them i am very upset with this place, my friend says, you should never send a letter like that while your dog is still there. that night the arrogant doctor H calls, fake crying, yes, crying, YOUR FRANKIE HAS PASSED, I never hear from the doctor again, he had said only one dog in 8years had ever died from snake bite. (was this to make me tolerate the coninual pumping up of my bill?) next day they hand me his body in a cardboard box out by the garbage cans . and tell me that I still owe $287.00 .. read the other sites and this site. this place needs to change. they dont care about animals, just $$$ . I am locating the attorney who owns TLC and demand changes or closure of this terrible establishment

Cons: this establishment only cares about the $$$

This place certainly let one of my family members pets die plus wanted 3000.00 dollars for it. He could not afford an autopsy to prove what they did (and what vet would testify another vet anyway).TLC kept pumping up the bill and demanding more and more money for a little snake bite. I researched and found out that animals rarely die of snake bite which really gives me the creeps after reading other people's accounts of their animal dying at TLC.\nWhen i read reviews by all these ""perky"" people that just love this place, i know they are not real reviews. I just can't understand why the government organizaitons that are supposed to protect consumers are totally blind to all the things that go on at this center. I am totally in shock that these guys are allowed to keep operating.

I brought my dog Flower there tonight in a emergency. They could have chosen to help her but instead they expected almost 2000- . Since I couldnt afford that, we had to leave . My dog Flower died on my couch 1 hour later. I 100% blame them . they could have chosen to let me make payments. Never take your dog there unless you can afford it.\r\n

We've been taking our cats to TLC for years, and have only had a very positive experience. When one of our cats had to be put to sleep, we received a condolences card signed from the entire staff at TLC. Today we had to take our kitty in and almost went to another vet because the reviews we saw were so terrible, we were horrified. The biggest mistake would have been if we didn't go back to TLC.\r\nThe staff was terrific. We had an apmt, and while waiting an emergency dog came in that was seizing. The dog was taken back immediately. Although the waiting room was busy, the staff did a great job keeping everyone calm.\r\nI would recommend this place to anyone looking for a vet for a sick animal. I'm so glad I ignored the reviews.

Oh My GOD! This place is the worst! It is so upsetting to have your animal in need, one of your best friends, a member of your family hurting and to go to a place like this. The people behind the desk were rude, impersonal and unprofessional. I felt like they were to young to even know how to effectively do their job. Although the waiting room was empty we had to wait to long for an emergency situation. Half way through the examination I realized that the doctor was trying to up-sale a procedure to us when he had not even told us if our dog was O.K. yet. I just needed to clearly know if my dog was alright. Please don't go there, I'm sure you will regret it as I do and find that now you need to go to your regular vet the next day and pay more on top of TLC's excessive prices! I have ended up there three times over the years due to emergencies with my four animals because I didn't know where else to go after hours. I have had three different Doctors and the have all been awful. I walk out feeling worst that when I walked in. \r\nPlease don't make the same mistakes that I have, do a little reschearch before you need an emergency vet so you don't have to end up at TLC, I will find an alternative today so I never have to go back there again!

Worst experience ever!\r\nMy pet was stung by a wasp and in severe anaphylactic shock. I ran in the door, definitely an emergency and I swear theese people just stared at me. The staff was SO RUDE and I swear they dont even like animals. The receptionist rolled her eyes at me and actually told me to stop crying because I would make her cry because she had a bad day. I WILL NEVER return here. Had no choice, was the closest emergency all hours animal hospital and my pet was vomitting and having trouble breathing. This place was grossly over-priced and I only got to see my pet AFTER I begged. This place should be shut down.

I have been here a few times for emergency's. There is one vet there that I absolutely love. Very kind and caring. Then there's one who is rude, harsh and no bedside manner. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you have to go.

I took my cat here on July 28 for an emergency - his cheek had swollen to the size of a golf-ball. I took him here because it was close and they said it is an emergency hospital - I wanted fast service. When I got there, the front desk practically rolled their eyes at me when I said it was an emergency. They said I would have to wait as other people had appointments (what is the point of offering emergency services???). I waited for a 1/2 hour before anyone would even give me the time of day. Waited another hour and was told by the rudest girl that I could either give up my cat to the staff to be examined in a back, staff-only room or wait if I wanted to actually be in a room. Um, excuse me?? What kind of pet-owner just throws their pet at someone they've never met or have sound trust for? Of course I waited to be in a room. Finally a vet came in. She was actually pretty nice - a young Asian woman. Pretty good bedside manner. The vet techs and front desk staff need to be replaced with people who CARE about animals and their owners - these people act like they're working at a Denny's on Hollywood Blvd! As far as the price for everything, no complaints - veterinary medicine IS more expensive than people medicine now - it hurts but it's necessary. Compared to my regular, lovely vet's price, this was actually a bargain. I paid just under $400 for anesthesia, dental surgery (it was an tooth abcess) and antibiotics. So far, my kitty seems just fine. If you can deal with the nastiness in the waiting room, it's not too terrible a place. Oh, and I waited 45 minutes at the front desk to pick-up my cat AFTER I was told to come get him. How hard is it to shove a doped-up cat in a pet-carrier? So you better have all day to wait around... oh, p.s. - I was still charged $100 for an emergency fee...that I waited 1 1/2 hours to get.

Cons: Horrible staff, make you wait FOREVER

I usually don't check reviews, but sooo glad I did, i agree with below, I would'nt take my pet rock here, I'm surprised they are still opened. I have heard stories how bad they are, but thought I would check for myself. It was definately worth the few extra minutes.

I took my dog into this clinic because it was nearby, after paying a fortune I was told my dog was fine, might be ""a little over heated"" (it was nightime and cool out). Took him home and knew in my gut something was wrong, so I went to an emergency clinic on LaBrea where my dog was immediately taken in back, no mention of money was even mentioned, as they were concerned for his welfare not the o'l mighty dollar like TLC. The doctors told me he had bleeding internally and if I had waited another 30 min he would have passed away. The doctor could not understand how even a vets assistant could have missed this, even I knew something was not right. Dr. Mahaney should find another line of work, I just can't imagine if I would have taken there word and not taken my son/dog elswhere. Since this has happened I have heard other stories very similair to mine, I plan on taking every action to get these people together along with myself and have this place investigated for negligence. among other possibilities.

I hope that Dr. Patrick Mohaney suffers in death the way he choose to let my dog suffer, he just left him lie in pain until 750.00 was paid upfront, then after an hour of doing nothing came back to tell it could be this, it could be that (I lost count after 12 possibilities) What was the 750.00 for to be told it might be this ,it might be that. Then the topper, he could do more tests for another 500.00! to narrow it down. It was late on a Sunday night and had no where else to take him so I said go ahead, 30 min. later he passed away as the recession machine was not working properly and could not reccessitate him. The shear horror I experienced can not be put into words, all I can do is warn others of the complete lack of experience from this doctor and others in this facility.

This is the worst place anyone could bring there pet, gross negligence, out for the ol'mighty dollar, insensative, they even filled a check in of mine after I gave then a credit card and charged me twice, so add forgery. (the check only had filled in name, and amt.) as they wouldnt treat my dying pet until they were paid what they thought it MAY BE within 5 min. of walking in. Then had to assure them I would be right back in order to get a C.Card for there payment. My son/dog passed away because he lay there with nothing being done until authorized payment was given. Please research another emergency facility that has more compassion for the animal then the money, I made the mistake to go there because it was in my neighborhood and my regular vet was not open 24 hrs. I have never been anywhere that I was treated so terrible and still agonize over on a daily basis. PLEASE TRUST MY SINCERITY ON THIS WARNING and find another facility. this facility rating would be a minus 1

DO NOT take your animal to this so called hospital. I took my dog there in an emergency, 6 years old, my dog was taken to the back, lifted up by hand even though I explained he had a splintered pelvis then was given a bill/estimate and was told nothing would be done until paid in full. It was late at night did not have 900.00 in my pocket or wallet and they told me I couldnt leave to run up the block to get my wallet or checkbook.Wasted time with my dog dying in there back room, when they finally allowed me to leave(45 min or more of arguing with them) as long as I came right back as I needed to get phone #'s ,wallet etc. They would not let me see my dog for almost two hours and when they did he was basically gone, they told me they were trying to rcessitate him as I looked the hose was not even connected to the machine as it would not reach no matter how many time they tried to connect as they yelled at me to leave and then told me he passed away. They then dropped him on the floor in front of me to say my goodbyes and kept coming in saying they needed to use the room and I would have to leave. (it was 3:00 a.m in the morn, no one else was there. This is a very short version of the horror I experienced in this horrible place. Please trust me as this was not easy to write as it brings these memories back , but needed to warn others of there gross negligence and tact. Thank you for taking your time to read. I would not rate this facility at all other then I have to in order to submit this warning. HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO WRITE ABOUT THEIR HORRIBLE EXPERIENCES?

Took my dog in because I thought she might have a urinary tract infection. Vet was OK, ordered urinalysis as expected ($200+ when it should have been around $100). The vet tech was also supposed to ""clip"" the fur around the dogs back end. In reality they shaved the dogs back end so now the dog has a urinary tract infection and razor burn. Three days go buy, dog is scooting all over from being shaved and situation has gotten dramatically worse. Since I haven't heard anything I call, vet that originally saw her is out of town. Left a message, call not returned. Day 5, call back again, they ask me to schedule another appointment and come in (another $100+) when the original Dr said there would be no need to come in again. Day 6 finally get antibiotics, but by now dog is a complete smelly, swollen mess with razor burn. I do not understand why it took 6 days nearly $400(including prescription) to get treatment for a urinary tract infection when it was highly suspected on first visit on day 1.

I took a rescue dog that had been severely starved and had gone into a seizure to TLC. The staff did not seem concerned about the dog and offered no comfort or encouraging words. If anything, they seemed burdened by my presence. The doctor (I can't remember her name but she was a younger Asian woman) didn't have much of an explanation for me about the cause of the seizure or the status of the dog, and wanted to charge me almost $600 to keep him for 12 hours. I explained that this was a rescue dog I was temporarily fostering and they did not care. I would only go to TLC if I had no other option. I suggest researching the closest Pet Emergency location prior to the emergency so you are educated about where to go if/when something happens.

When my dog was struck by a car I had no where else to take him. At least TLC was open but unless you have a BLACK OR PLUM American Express FORGET IT! These guys are ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!\r\nI can look past being called 'hun"" and 'honey"" by a girl young enough to be my daughter but the parade of people (none comforting AT ALL!) was endless and useless. For all the pomp and circumstance, there was really nothing they could do to change the outcome. Perhaps if they just reduced their staffing they wouldn't have to charge $1500 for tests! I think it's so ""LA"" for people to live beyond their means but when you are in a position of HEALING/HELPING, you can't pressure people for cash even if you're over staffed and over extended. \r\nWorking in health care myself, I know that an x ray is $5 to shoot...what's with the mark up TLC?\r\nShameful....It's nothing short of shameful...\r\nI had been warned only to see Dr. Hiebert but unfortunately he wasn't there that night...if you go, you're taking your chances and these people have NO COMFORTING SKILLS. They basically a very expensive doggy day care.

I trust the doctors at TLC, especially Dr. Baker. My former cat had been misdiagnosed for over a year by a cat hospital in W. L.A. when I brought her in to the first available doctor at TLC. He got the diagnose right instantly and referred her to an internal medicine specialist. I now bring my cats here. The bad experiences started when the place got bought out by owners who care about the bottom line. However, the doctors are still great and they key to a good experience is to try to schedule your first appointment when they are not so busy and to be patient but insistent. The care here is still better than any of those places on Sepulveda and I will put up with a great deal to know my cats are getting the best medical care around. They are also truly available 24 hours a day. This attention to the bottom line isn't any different than what is going on with human medical care. It's awful, but I'll still take the best doctor over the friendliest service.

i went to TLC b/c i live in the area... i had heard negative things from other pet owners but decided to take my chances after spending over 15K at Calif Animal Hosp. and a significant amt. at beverly hills sm animal hospital and having very poor experiences. The experiences at the aforementioned hospitals would take more than word limit will allow.\r\n\r\nDr.Mahaney is a dedicated, professional, and very talented progressive veterinarian. While some of the front desk has been challenging to say the least, a few have been very helpful- Alex & Tim. On several occasions dr.mahaney has gone above and beyond the call of duty to help my pup (recently passed due to cancer). The last year of my dog's life wouldnt have been as great as it was had it not been for dr. mahaney. he has always followed up via email, etc w/ info. i will always take my future dogs to dr. mahaney. i have been to 5 vets in this town(not to mention dr's i used in NYC) and he has by far been the best- i'd have to say my dog received better care than i do at my general practitioner!! he has always made sure i understood precisely what was going on and always explained me the options. \r\n\r\ni will say that dr. hiebert was so- so and dr.feldman couldnt have been less emotional. not crazy about the basic technical equipment. overnight front desk person was mean and ignorant. dr. steve smith was horrendous- he's only p/t ...but totally unprofessional. believe me when i tell you to never go to him!!!\r\n\r\ni know we all love our animals... vet offices are generally pretty stressful places. if you bring stress to an already difficult situation, the situation isnt going to get any better and the only one who suffers is your animal. we encounter waits in our own dr's offices... at Cedars, etc. so why would you expect anything different at an animal's doctor. I strongly recommend this facility- but would only vouch for Dr Mahaney.

I take my elderly rescued mutts to Dr. Mahaney for acupuncture and they are treated so well. The care he gives them is thorough and is always more than happy to give advice. Dr. Hebert removed a spleen with a tumor from one of the dogs and they took great care especially since she's elderly. I had heard from other doctors that Dr. Hebert is a great surgeon so I was at ease. Yesterday I saw a horrible accident where a cat was struck by a truck. I rushed it to TLC and they looked at him without question. Unfortunately they couldn't help him. I've seen these people rise to the situation many times. I've also seen the staff take a bunch of yelling from people who don't understand the bill. They've handled it with professionalism. \r\n\r\nI've also found them to be very reasonable. Vet care is expensive and it'll always sting. Dr. Baker, Hebert, and Mahaney are the best.

I take my elderly rescued mutts to Dr. Mahaney for acupuncture and they are treated so well. The care he gives them is thorough and is always more than happy to give advice. We took our two cats in for a check up and to arrange a spay for our female cat. The vet was brisque to the point of rudeness. The front desk staff was bitchy and cold. The facilites were clean (mostly) and they saw that both cats are purebreds and usually expensive and their rates went up accordingly. They quoted me $120 - 150 for a spaying surgery on the phone. In person, the whole bill would have been closer $350. They charged more for a CBC on a cat than my internist charges for one on me! They told me that anesthesia was an additonal charge (but you could not have this surgery without it!) The whole place is a corporate owned money pump. If there is any genuine caring or compassion for the animals in their care - I sure as hell didn't see it! If this is how they appear publicly - God only knows what's going on behind the scenes. \r\n\r\nMy advice: While the location and hours are convenient, the best course of action is to avoid this place like the bubonic plague! Service is non-existent. Staff are bitchy and cold. The prices go up if they think you have money. The vets seem to simply not give a damn about anything other than jacking up the bill! One tech actually asked what we had paid for our cats! (The truth is one was given to us, the other we bought as her companion and paid over two grand for him!) But why in hell would they ask such a question? Hardly relevant to the animals medical care, in my opinion. I was appalled at their rudeness on top of everything else. Oh, and the people who work there seem to be lower middle class at BEST! Not a place you'd want to go if you have any other choice, IMHO! Avoid it! Your pets will be better off for your having done so!

I brought my pet to Dr.Hiebert with infected paws from allergies. Without examining the dog or wanting to hear his history ( I was telling him that my dog had major surgery at 6 mos. because he ate a bottle of glue!) .. he spoke right over me and said "" he needs a dermatologist"". I have been managing my dog's allergy for 2 years and this dr. basically said every course of treatment prior to this was ""incorrect"". The girls at the front desk were monsters, telling me ""hurry up and fill out your paperwork, your appt. is in 5 minutes"". I then sat in the lobby for 10 minutes... Since the dr. didn't want to hear about my dog's sensitive stomach , he prescribed steroids for the allergy instead of an antibiotic for the infected paws. Steroids work BUT it gave my dog bloody, loose stools, and I ended up weaning him off and treating the infection at home with Neosporin. A doctor who does not listen and does not know or care about patient history or pet care history should not be permitted to practice. I got impression that he just wanted to dive into my purse and clean it out. I don't mind paying for good service... I am warning every pet owner I know to stay away from this place. They are beyond rude and ignorant.

Dont waste your time (or your money) at TLC! I took my pets here because of it's location, and the fact that the lobby was very well kept. After spending large amounts of money here.. I wont ever go back! After doing some research (after the fact), I have found that they are on average 30% overpriced!\r\n\r\nThe front desk employees are rude, and the Vets dont follow very far behind. I delt with a new(er) Dr who had just moved here from Washington.... he was luke warm with my pets.. and Cold to me whenever I saw him on the street afterwards (as if to be afraid that I might ask for free advice.. which was not the case!). All of this after spending thousands of dollars! It was even more disturbing to see this Dr Craked out of his mind (clearly on Meth, or something else) at a party weeks later! To think that he performs surgical procedures disturbs me deeply.

IA few weeks ago my dog was limping, so I took him to the vet next door to my apt building. They told me he had a torn ACL and wanted to do immediate surgery on BOTH of his knees (he had only hurt one!). Luckily, I went straight to TLC, where I was told he had absolutely no swelling at all in his knee. They recommended some medication and rest and in two days my dog was perfectly fine. I am horrified to think of the unnecessary pain and trauma (not to mention expense) we would have put him through without TLC!!!\r\n\r\nEvery staff member we worked with was calm and helped to ease my obvious panic. My dog is extremely timid around strangers and I really appreciate the time the staff and vets always take to make him feel comfortable and put us both at ease. I also loved that when I called in later with questions about medication, the receptionist talked directly to my treating vet and got back to me ASAP with answers. \r\n\r\nEven the other patients at this clinic are great! Everyone is friendly and chatty, but best of all- their pets are well behaved! It makes a huge difference, as the lobby can get quite packed. \r\n\r\nAnd of course, Angelina Yogurt is in the same shopping center! Can't beat that!!

I also had a great experience with Dr. Hiebert at TLC. I live nearby, don't have a regular vet, and took my dog there to check out an enlarged area on his inner left thigh. Dr. Hiebert said it was a growth of fatty tissue and recommended removal. I was reluctant to agree to surgery so quickly so I monitored it for two months and also sent Dr. Hiebert a couple of emails with questions/concerns. He replied to them immediately and thoroughly addressed my concerns with professionalism and compassion. The growth got larger so I agreed to the surgery. Dr. Hiebert was fantastic. The surgery was successful and the growth turned out to be much larger than we even knew. He also had someone call me as soon as the procedure was over to let me know my pup was okay, since I had concerns re the anesthesia and was the total nervous mom. When we went back for the follow-up appointment my dog didn't even put on the brakes in the parking lot (you have to know him) - he willingly walked right in. That tells me he was treated well. I highly recommend Dr. Hiebert.

Three weeks ago my 110 pound dog began to suffer the symptoms of GDV (bloat), a true veterinary emergency that befalls deep chested breeds. GDV happens when the stomach contents become bouyant and the stomach essentially ""flips"", cutting off circulation and putting the dog into shock as his vital organs are put in immediate jeopardy. The only remedy is immediate surgical intervention, and the dog has very little time to live. It was midnight on a Friday night and we called TLC in a panic. The vet tech recognized the symptoms and told us to rush to TLC West Hollywood, where she and Dr. Mark Hiebert, TLC's chief of surgery and emergency medicine were waiting. Dr. Hiebert evaluated his bloated abdomen and told us that he was already in shock and in literally less than 5 minutes confirmed the torsion by xray. He IMMEDIATELY began to start iv fluids while our boy's kidney function was checked as safe for anesthesia, and he began to decompress the stomach...within MINUTES. We went back into the surgical area to say what we feared might be one last goodnight to our dog and they began surgery. \r\nDr. Hiebert called us at 4am after what turned out to be a difficult, major surgery and despite what must have been an exhausting few hours, he explained the procedure in great detail AND prepared us for the potential complications that follow even successful bloat surgery - dangers posed by metabolic toxins that result from the impaired circulation the dog experiences as the stomach twists. They anticipated every conceivable complication and treated him with the latest protocols available. In the week that followed every member of the TLC staff was informed, accessible and extremely caring as we watched our dog come back to full health. EVERY Dr. on call was familiar with the case and I simply can't say enough about TLC and the expert, compassionate care that we received. This is a 1st class facility with top vets and a great staff. And our dog is home and HEALTHY!\r\n\r\n

This is the worst animal hospital in L.A!\r\n\r\nI started using TLC because it was close and very clean. Immediately, I noticed the doctors were more concerned with selling services than in providing care. The front desk staff are rude and the doctor was just as bad. \r\nRecently, I noticed a lump on my cat and took him in. The doctor took tests, ran up an $800 bill and sent me home telling me the cat needed dental work. I had to call repeatedly to get the results, untimately demanding any doctor on duty read the chart. He said nothing was abnormal with the cat. (The cat had dropped 4 pounds in a month and had a egg sized tumor - apparantly nothing to be cocerned about.) \r\nMy cat's condition progressively worsened and two days later I took him to another pet center where he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. TLC could not have saved my cat, but correct information and courteous service would have helped make him comfortable.\r\n\r\nStay away from this place if you love your pet.

My boyfriend's 15 year old cat fell off a balcony and wasn't moving very much when we found him and brought him back into our apartment. We took him to TLC because it seemed the closest. They were terrible! The doctor on the overnight shift did not believe us that the cat fell off the balcony. He made it seem like we abused our cat, when in reality, why would we bring our cat to the vet at 2 in the morning if we were abusing him? Also, why would I agree to pay over $800 to get test results, if we did anything to hurt the cat? The cat died at 7 that morning at TLC, and I haven't seen any test results, and they're still trying to make us pay. The doctor made us feel worse, and he really should not be a doctor.

I've had the misfortune of having to use TLC animal hospital 3 times in the last 5 years, and each time seems to be worse than the time before. The staff is rude, service is slow and poor. The only thing this group is concerned with is making money on distraught pet owners willing to pay their outragous rates with the hope of healing their sick pets. They need to clean up their act and provide the compassionate care their name implies.

We brought our cat into TLC's emergency room after she collapsed. The vets are very competent and the techs are gentle. Their facility is very clean and their prices are reasonable for the area. They have easy access to excellent specialists as well.\r\n\r\nEveryone we've dealt with has been very kind, and, while we've paid a lot of money to this clinic in a very short amount of time, we don't feel taken advantage of at all. We are finicky owners--and I'm happy to say that our two year search for a vet is finally over.

My cat was seen there back in October of 2005. At that visit the handle of my cat carrier was broken off by tech staff. I've received the run-around from them since and they still have not replaced the broken carrier. Staff there could not care less about anything accept when they get off the clock - at least that's what they vocalize. And my regular vet there has gone on the better things. I, of course, will not allow them to treat my pets any longer. Look for another clinic is me rec.
