Rakestraw Books

I have been shopping at Rakestraw Books since I was a kid and I am always impressed by the authors they bring in to speak. It's a small store but the writers are the best around. Over the past couple years, I have heard Michael Chabon, Richard Russo, Richard Ford, and many others. I just read today that they are bringing Barbara Walters to the bookstore. And, best of all, the bookstore is an intimate space, so you really get a chance to interact both with the authors and other members of the audience.

This is the bookstore that I grew up with! I have many good memories of coming here when I was younger. They have a good selection of books for a smaller store. Prices are decent, not cheap, but not expensive either.

CONS: Not as much selection as B&N
