I quit skateboarding in about 1986, but my brothers talked me back into it in fall of 2006. Having been out of the scene for 20 years, I had no idea what to get. My little brother took me around the corner to DlxSF, and the staff gave me a lot of good feedback, let me stand on a few boards to get the feel for them, gave me advice on berings, truck size and wheels, and even put the grip tape on, and cut a cool wavy design in it to help tell the tail from the nose. And they gave me some free stickers, to boot.
I was delighted with what I got (a Real - Ace of Spades, 8.976 inch deck with Indies and some medium spitfires), as a good mix of the old school wide decks that I was once used to, and the new school design.
I'd recommend them to anyone and everyone who's shopping for a stick in San Francisco.
