Lady in the office help them with everything to move in
And live and help them with finding school for the child. I
like what they do so I moved my family to the same building
because my lanlord was bad. Now me and my family are happy
with the new house that Vegas gives us. We have had no problem
with the house at all. And they are very very nice to my wife and
kids.

HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE!

A breakdown of how vega investments operates.

I lived at the 2000 david ave apts. for over 14 months. The absolute first day I was there, when myself and my wife were moving in, the neighbors came over and said if you are thinking about moving into these apts. think again. I wish I would have, to say the least.

To start off, when we moved in, the carpet had stains all in it, our bathroom had mildew all on the walls and on the side of the bathtub, and I will not even start on the condition of the bathroom window. Our outside window was just gross and the screen was broken, and when I say broken I mean cut from one side all the way across, from the first day we moved until the fantastic day we moved out.

While living there, we had but only 3 problems. Stove wouldnt work and plumbing was some kind of messed up. I'll get into the third problem in a little bit. It took them 3 weeks, 3 weeks!!!!!!!!!! to fix the stove, b/c they had to "order" new parts. The plumbing was fixed within 24 hours only because I told them to come right that second to fix it, and I made that the final say so.

The third problem was the heater. The heaters in the apts. were so out of date that there was carbon monoxide leak!! The fire department came out and had to go into each room with some detector and check for the gas. Luckily, we were fortunate enough that ours wasn't multifunctional, others though, weren't so lucky. One couple who had been living there for a very long time, had a gas leak, so bad that they were sent to the hospital with carbon monoxide poisoning! The best part, vega investments blamed the TENANTS because they had furniture too close to the heater... like that would cause the gas leak, not the 40 year old heater.

The worst part of my vega investment experience was when i moved out. I paid a security deposit of $1400. I received just $100. I was billed fro a HEAVY cleaning... $200, I left that apt probably the best it had ever looked, even better than what it was when i moved in. I was billed another $200 for painting and labor, I never even painted the walls, and they were in perfect condition when I left.... are you serious. Not only did they screw me on the amount of security deposit i received, it also took them amost 2 months for them to get it to me. I called everyday for 3 and a half weeks, left msg's with the girls who work there, AND NEVER got a call back. They were flat out ignoring me. They "supposedly" sent my check 2 times before that but there were "problems" It wasn't until i said that if i didn't receive my check that i was going call the police.

They will be nice when you are in the office in person, but behind all their overdone make-up and fake smiles are straight evil people. It's horrible to say that about somebody else but you can ask me, you can ask people who have lived there, and you can even ask the people who live there now, they are just bad, bad people.

With all that said, I am extremely disappointed in myself for giving those people over $15000 for living in such horrible conditions, and i will never make that mistake again without looking at reviews first, which is the whole reason i made this post.

I rented from them for a year and half I read some bad reviews online about security deposit I am on a budget (College Student) and they always knew that. I was really nervous because I was told I needed painting, carpet cleaning, and apartment cleaning so I thought for sure my deposit was gone... But they only took out $80 total I got everything else back. I had to come on and review them because they were so nice to me and gave me way more than I even thought I deserved. I moved out early and was responsible for 30-days of rent they got my unit rented early the people moved in and I got rental money back that I had paid. They were VERY fair to me.

Recently contacted Vega Investments to ask if i could see one of the apartments they listed on Craigslist. I was told the time and day that the apartment was open to see. I was there on time and waited for someone from their office to arrive but she was late. She went to open the apartment but couldn??t. She said that the tenants that occupied the apartment must of changed the locks and she would call me as soon as she was able to get the keys. I never heard from her. A few days later I saw another listing of theirs. I called and asked if i could have an application sent to my email address because i was very interested in the apartment. The girl said she would email me an application and she also said she would be showing the apartment at 1:00 pm that day. I mentioned the other apartment I went to see earlier that week and she said she was also going to be showing that one at 3:00pm that day. So I planned my day around the times they were showing both apartments. I kept checking my email for the application she said she??d send me so i would have it filled out and ready to turn in. I never got it. I arrived at the apartment being shown at 1pm and I immediately knew i wanted to apply and asked for an application. I went to the other apartment being shown at 3pm. i got there at 5 minutes late and no one from the office was there. I asked the tenant if anyone was showing the apartment and he told me she had just left because no one had come. The ten ate was kind enough to show me the apartment. I brought back my application for the first apartment the very next morning when their office opened. I did not hear back from them until 4 days later. I was told that both apartments had been rented. I asked why no one had called me to let me know my application had been approved and why i wasn??t chosen to rent either of the apartments. She said the other applicants references had been contacted and had got back to them before mine. So they went ahead and rented the apartments to someone else even though i was the first person to apply and my application was approved.

I got here moved into a place near the beach within a week I was so congested I could not breathe I had to move so I went looking for a place I found a house in Monterey A girl named Jamie showed it to me and I followed her back to the Vega office and filled out the application and explained my situation about the place I was living with the mold but they talked to my current landlord and got them to let me out of my year lease, they approved me on a single deposit because my credit and references are excellent, they got me moved in and it was great.
When I moved in I expected to have my walk thru the same day BUT they insisted on doing in a week after moving in their reasoning being that is gives the "new tenant" time to notice all the imperfections/things needing maintenance etc. I was uneasy about that but when the girl came and did the walk thru it went fine and everything was noted properly. I was very happy to see in the house they had just installed a carbon monoxide detector so I knew then that they were abiding by the rules (They HELL HOLE mold village on the beach I just left did not have one at all and I know I read a head of time that ALL houses MUST have CO2 detectors as of July 2011)

I have had maintenance out twice I have not paid for them either times and I when I called them they were out within 1 day.

My time with them has been highly satisfactory I would recommend them to anyone. If my job brings me out here again I would gladly rent from them.

I called everyday for 3 and a half weeks, left msg's on the answering me, left msg's with the girls who work there, AND NEVER got a call back. They were flat out ignoring me. They "supposedly" sent my check 2 times before that but there were "problems" It wasn't until i said that if i didn't receive my check that i was going call the police.

They will be nice when you are in the office in person, but behind all their overdone make-up and fake smiles are straight evil people. It's horrible to say that about somebody else but you can ask me, you can ask people who have lived there, and you can even ask the people who live there now, they are just bad, bad people.

With all that said, I am extremely disappointed in myself for giving those people over $15000 for living in such horrible conditions, and i will never make that mistake again without looking at reviews first, which is the whole reason i made this post.

If you haven't gotten the point of this post, it is

Do not rent from them, you will regret it!!!!!!

and to add, vega investments writes their own and only positive reviews, pathetic.

I rented from them and I had a very good experience. I had been looking at places forever and I walked into their office and got an application brought it back and moved in 2 days later. I have been there for 9 months and have only had 2 maintenance issues and they were handled within 24 hours both time.

I had a good experience with them. I was referred by some friends and am totally happy! We got in, got approved, got a single deposit, moved in 2 weeks later. Its a great place in Monterey. I pay my rent in person and go visit with the girls (4 young girls in the office all the time:-)) always someone to talk to when you need something. I have not great credit (foreclousre)and they worked with me. I walked into their office with no where else to go. They ran my application and I was approved in a day. I moved in, in a week and am SO thankful to them. The ladies in the office really made me feel better although I have fallen on terrible times and was really feeling down. Thank you! I love my house its great inside and out. They brought me up when I was so down I will be forever thankful.

This is our second time renting from Vega Investments. The management at Blue Gables on Brutus St. is warm and receptive. The turnaround time for maintenance problems has improved over the years, but know that if items are not fixed promptly after the walk through, it won't be. If you persist, maybe. The noise and exhaust from the cars worsens by 2pm. The patios do provide a large play area, but noise makes family gatherings outside all but impossible. Benefits are large rooms, good kitchens that are free from rodents and pests. Ants sometimes, but they do spray if asked. The rent is fair with no unseemly raises. Rent is month to month. Water and garbage is paid. No pets. In truth I will miss it. Thank you, Vega and Jean for our wonderful 4 years.

I moved into a complex they have over by Lake El Estero I lived there happily until an ex boyfriend found out I was living there and started trying to get back together with me I went to the office and they not only were understanding but they got me into a new place within about 2 weeks. This is a great office and they are very helpful and understanting about life even if they are all under 30. I give them 2 thumbs up!

Vega Investments, where to begin? As one to another just to help protect yourself, do NOT rent from this company. Vega Investments is a family owned company. Nelson Vega owns this company and his daughters Erica and Candice Vega run the "company". The 2 Sisters Erica and Candice Vega are not licensed Real Estate Agents, therefore they can not show properties, sign leases, sign walkthroughs, ect... At first Vega Investments will seem so pleased to help get you into a place, they will say that they will work with you and explain their whole process, but everything they say you will soon find out, that there is very little truth to what they say, in my opinion. I Started having trouble at my apartment 1184 Trinity Ave unit A in Seaside around July/August. We started getting Fleas, we don't have pets. Then Ants, and Finally Termites. My husband and I Contacted Vega to let them know about this problem, they waited and procrastinated until finally I told them I would be contacting a laywer. they still have not fixed this problem. they also violated our lease by releasing private information to my neighbor upstairs. They asked her to file a false complaint against us so they could have probable cause to evict, and not look like they are retaliating or being malicious. when we moved in our carpets were soaking wet, I have a video of the water squishing up from inbetween my toes. They claim to have painted here, but the ceilings still had dead insect stuck to it. Animals deflicating in the yard, gouges in the linolium, counters, doors, and walls. Holes in walls from not having active door stoppers, window cills had mildew or mold growing in them, the stove only works sometimes. Vega has yet to fix any of these problems. I assume they will try to use my double deposit to fix this place up. this place is a S*** hole just like most of their other properties. this is al written in my opinion. Don't rent from this fictious business!!!!!!!!! Run for your life, avoid this company.

They explained their whole process an what is required to move in (Application, credit, references, rental reference, deposit, and finally pro-rated rent to be paid at my lease signing date) They explained that after reviewing an application and approval you receive a deposit amount (If you have terrible credit or a bad references you may have an elevated deposit amount but, they work w/everyone they will not just turn you away) I had a excellent app and was approved on a "Single deposit" (equivalent to 1 mos rent) with in 2 days (one of the days was Saturday) they excepted a tracking # as the deposit & took the house off the market (So no one could rent it under me or waste their time trying to apply) I moved in one week later that was the end of October and I could not be happier! I am writing this because I believe that I moved into the house that the other review moved out of (Based on the specifics and time frame I asked the girls in the office but they told me they regret but DO NOT give out previous tenant information-Completely Private &Professional) I referd a friend to them, they saw this link and sent it to me. The two sisters that run the office are completely unprofessional. We were lied to about the condition of the home, we were charge over $3,000 deposit, with an additional $1,300 deposit needed. Before we were even given keys we had to pay an additional $2,150 for a full months rent, even though we moved in on the 11th of the month. The house reeked of wet dog when we moved in, and the rental company took almost a month to remedy the problem. If you add in the fecal matter in the back bedroom closet, the animal that died under the house, and the subsequent week it took them to remove it, and the multitude of problems with the house, you get yourself one big steaming pile of a mess. With the exception of the receptionist at Vega, I don't have a single nice thing to say about this company. They will steal your money, be disrespectful to you, and talk down to you. My advice: STAY FAR AWAY FROM VEGA INVESTMENTS!

I moved up here from LA for work at CHOMP. They were very flixible in helping me find a place that was near my work and in my price range since I had no idea coming from LA what to expect. I have been there for about a year and had my first maint. issue that they got taken care of for me same day while I was at work. I reccomend them to anyone.
