Not my favorite sushi bar. It's convenient as it is close to home, and parking is available, but the food just isn't very good, at least not anymore. We used to go often, now we rarely go. It's just not worth it anymore.

Yokohama Sushi used to be fairly good when we first went a few years ago. The last few times, at least for lunch, the prices had gone up and the quality had gone down. The teriyaki chicken was dry, the tempura was greasy, and the staff didn't seem to care when I told them. No more chances.

Hate to disagree with the previous three who ranked Yokohama Sushi, but I find it to be just about average in virtually every category. Nothing really sticks out compelling me to return. Everything is ok, and if you want an ok meal, than go for it. Otherwise, you can do better.

In the mood for maki, rolls, that is. Then this is a great place for non-authentic Japanese inspired food. Many of the rolls including the Alaska and the Hawaiian will make you very happy.

Good variety of California sushi. Big menu with lots of cooked dishes as well as sushi. The yellowtail jalapeno sashimi was a tasty appetizer but the spicy tuna salad and beef yakisoba, both were too sweet for our taste. The sushi seems to be the best bet here. Most dishes were from $8-$14.

The sushi is very good at Yokohama, but they also have other Japanese food, which is also very good. The service is quick and the staff friendly. The only drawback is the parking lot. Yokohama is in a mall, and the parking lot is usually crowded and very busy, due to the other businesses in the mall. However, the food is worth fighting for a parking space.

I love going to yokohama. When I have people I want to treat for lunch or simply want to spend time alone Yokohama is the place. First of all the food is great for the price. The best time to go is in the late afternoon thats when the energy of the restaurant is really high and I don't mean crowded I just mean full of enthusiasm and promptness. It is a cozy place where you can unwind or focus if needed. I never order beverages so I can not comment on the quality of the drinks but the sushi is fresh and tasty. I love everything I have tasted from the lunch platters to the rolls and sashimi. They have options so if you are watching your weight that is an excellent place to dine as well. I will definetly go again and my intention was to go today but to take out so I can have people over and watch movies this evening.

Well, I just thought that this place was the bee's! I am picky about what kind of sushi I will eat, only because I am a texture sensitive person, and this place was great! It was SUPER fresh, as far as the fish went. I ordered the Eel Special roll and the House roll, and they were both excellent. The waitress(es) were very sweet, prompt, and accurate as nothing was wrong and our food came out quickly. The only thing I laughed about was that sodas come in cans, and they had crazy music playing that made me giggle every five minutes. All in all, I loved this place and I will be returning!
PS: I think people that make reviews like the one before me were just having a bad day and probably were rude to everyone :) They were wonderful to us, and seemingly to everyone else in the restaurant.

THis place is kind of hard to find, but I see a crowd in here. There lunch's are fairly priced. I usually go for the lunch combos, the chicken teriyaki combo that comes with salad, CA roll (or spicy tuna roll when I'm feeling it), tempuras, and a miso soup. It's probably the best bang for your buck.

Dinner is a lot of fun here. I come here to grab some cold Sapporos or some Hot Sakes, which go well with the various rolls and sushis. I love Salmon sushi with my Sapporos. You have got to try there baked salmon roll. It is divine.

Last night I ate at Yokohama for the very first time. As soon as we sat down we ordered a large bottle of hot sake. When the sake arrived a swarm of gnats surrounded our table . We asked the waitress if we can move tables do to the swarm of gnats. She kindly said yes but informed us that , the gnats are attracted to the sake and soy sauce. She mentioned that the gnats would continue to follow us even if we moved tables. She was right but I've never had this problem at any other sushi restaurant in my life. Not only were the gnats disgusting so was the hot sake. The sake looked a little yellow and tasted like hot old eggs. We ordered the sashimi platter with a side of white rice. The rice tasted as if it was burnt rice from the bottom of the rice cooker. It wasn't even sticky. The sashimi was cut to thick and tasted old and warm. As soon as I started eating it I began to feel sick to my stomach. My friend and I decided we wanted to leave. We asked the waitress for the bill. We waited about twenty minutes for her to bring it. She obviously had forgotten and we had to walk up to the register to ask her again( MIND YOU THERE WAS ONLY ONE TABLE IN THE RESTAURANT OTHER THAN US). A few hours after eating there I got sick to my stomach. The food and the service was horrible. I wouldn't eat here even if it was free. save yourself the stomach ache and eat somewhere else

I really like Yokohama. They have such a large menu with so many different choices. I take a lot of my friends who have never really liked sushi here because they have rolls made with shrimp, salmon, albacore, and calamari tempura as well as beef and chicken. Not only that they have combos, such as beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, and salmon teriyaki. These usually satisfy me when I am really hungry, or when I dont really feel like sushi at the time. And when you do feel like some good sashimi, Compared to other sushi places I would have to say their fish is much more fresh. They also have a lot of beer and sake. It depends, but I usually go for an ice cold Sapporo. That usually does the trick.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND: BSC roll, Baked Salmon Roll, Green Tea Tempura Ice Cream

Yokohama's is probably the best neighborhood sushi restaurant I've been to and I've been to many. Probably what makes the restaurant always crowded is the fairly priced menu and big slices of sushi that you get with your meals. In terms of sushi restaurants in California, I would have to say much better than Sushi Roku and other overpriced and overhyped places. Whether it's take out or sit in, I usually get the 8 piece sushi combo, rainbow roll, hawaiian roll and whatever elsse I'm feeling. All are very good. Wasn't too impressed with their caterpillar roll, a little bland with too much emphasis on the avocado and not enough on the eel and sauce. Service is pretty quick, a little less attentive when crowded but that can be expected. Haven't tried they're all you can eat special on Sundays, but it's only a matter of time...

Pros: Big slices of raw fish, good prices, good variety of rolls and sushi.

Cons: Some dishes not that great, some fish could be fresher

I always have trouble finding sushi places. I either spend a pay check for top quality sushi or pocket change for chewy, unpleasant smelling fish. It's hard to find a happy medium...which is why Yokohama is one of my favorite sushi places simply b/c you get quality sushi for decent prices. They have so many fun rolls to choose from or if you're just in the mood for some good sashimi, you can order that too! Good atmosphere (very casual). Perfect for lunch or a relaxing dinner!

I went to Yokohama at Dinner. I was so cold and ask Hot Tea. Hot Tea was so cold. The restaurant was not packed. I was thinking, just order, eat, and go home early. My order took more than half hour. And food was kind a cold too..... I was so disappointed. I won't come back anymore. Not to recommend.

I love this place. I think the sushi is great. Their sashimi is fantastic (if you like big cuts) and always fresh. SOoo good. Their rolls are also creative and yummy (not too much fake crab meat in everything). Prices are decent also, for sushi this good. I crave yokohama! It's fatabulous. I've never eaten there but order take out quite often.

Stumbled onto this restaurant last evening (it's nearly hidden and lost in the very overwhelming shopping center that houses Bally's and Best Buy). Don't eat sushi, but figured we'd give it a try. Ordered take-out (Dumplings, Shrimp Tempura and Teryaki Chicken Bowl). Wanted to try their bbq pork, but they didn't have it. Was very pleased with the quality of the food: the chicken bowl was especially tasty, white meat chicken with no "what part of a chicken is THAT?" surprises. Prices very reasonable, diningroom very clean. Will definitely return.

always get the philidelphia roll.....awesome, and the house special roll is huge...love the miso soup too....It's not the hump, but it's about a tenth of the price so it's a good deal.

You won't be disappointed. The sushi and sashimi cuts are not the best, but then again you're not paying premium prices for the fish. It is good affordable seafood though when you don't feel like paying big bucks to feed your sushi craving. They offer all the great Nigiri sushi and countless varieties of sushi rolls, as well as the American favorites like teriyaki and tempura. Plenty of good beer, sake, and soft drinks to. Good service, color T.V., and have a polaroid of your party taken and posted on the wall. FUN.

I found out about this place from a former co-worker. She brought in the Yokohama menu with all its very colorful pictures and I just had to try it. It was great. We were greeted upon entering, the servers are very nice and always smiling and the sushi is damn good and not expensive. The atmosphere, to me, was intimate as Yokohama is hidden so to speak. Anyone who loves sushi or even likes it should definitely give this place a try.

Good Cheap Sushi for the Westside. I've been looking for a convienent place for quick sushi. Not impressed by the fish on Sawtelle (Hide, etc..) Lots of variety here for roll lovers and cozy. I was surprised by the freshness. Comparable to the "Kabuki" chain of restaurants, but more tasty.
